Holly Williams / The Making of the Highway

It's been an amazing couple of years working the release of "The Highway"!!
I wanted to share with you all this behind the scenes look at the making of the record, before I prepare to go into the studio for the next one.
I loved making this record with the musicians and creative friends I love and trust so much, my producer Charlie Peacock and husband Chris Coleman were a huge part of this.
These songs are some of the most personal I've ever written, especially "Waiting on June" which is the word-for-word true story of my maternal grandparents.

Just wanted to say when Holly last toured 6 or 7 years ago I was blessed to see her 3 times! Her shows were so moving I told my wife it was like a religious experience! Her songs are so soulful, you are practically in tears!! I so wish she tours again, puts out new music, and if that happens do yourself a favor and bring her music into your life, you’ll thank me, and go see her! It will be your best concert ever as it was for me!!!

I think Waitin' On June is so popular with people because fans really can see when an artists opens up a part of there soul with so much emotion in a song, which is rare, and it really becomes a special amazing moment. That's something I see in your songwriting that makes me a huge fan. Keep writing and performing and we'll keep supporting you. Amazingly talented!!!

Holly - Caught your last show here in Roswell, GA. I have thoroughly enjoyed this album because I can really relate to the emotion and the lyrics in your songs. I think "Waitin' on June" is so popular because there are so many of us out here who had grandparents just like your grandparents and so while you say this is a song about people we don't even know in reality we do know them because we knew our own grandparents. I can't wait for your next album . . . I am a true Holly Williams fan!!
