One of the most under promoted musicians out there. Perhaps she's not in it for the "fame" or "glory" but, she has more talent (in my opinion) than any pop star headlining today. I met her in a bank about a month ago in Nashville and she came off like any other normal person does....humble and kind. It is my belief that one day her music will go viral whether she wants or not...its just too good.
This song means so much to me.. For 26 years I spent my life driving up and down the highway. The back road. The big city and the small towns. I can say I been there, done that, got the shirt. LMAO. Been there done that a lot of times. Hauled this and that. Slept here and there. Parking lot, rest area. Camped at a bunch of stadiums, arena's, and county fairs. Last 12 years was hauling some real famous singers , bands and all of their implements needed to make people happy. You hope. Being away from home months at a time. Missing everything. And I mean everything. Birthdays, weddings, (not mine, I never got to that. A date would've been a good start). But through the good, the bad and the in between I was never lonely. You work and live with the same people everyday. You can almost say what they're gonna say and do next. You watched the show You watched the crowd. You watched them sing along. You watched them smile and somehow you felt a part of something much bigger than yourself. Its not just the singer or the band. Its the family. You can sing. You can entertain. But it takes everyone to make it all work. Now I'm 53. I'm not married. I have no kids. Or one's who will claim me. I'm retired from the road. I think I missed out on a whole bunch of things in life. And as I sit here babbling on, I think of those twenty six years. I had a great family. Some came, some went. Some weren't great. But you even enjoyed the "different" ones. I met Holly a time or two. She is an amazing woman. I met King George, Mr Jackson from Georgia. That Brooks guy. The beautiful Ms Loveless..The Cowboy hat wearing Canadian beauty.. Great times. And as I wake everyday, the words of this song ring in my ears. I never thought I would feel this way. But Holly put how I feel into lyrics and chords. And I know a lot of other people feel the same way. You don't need to be in music, truck driving to make this song your own. Now my health isn't so great. Or I would go back to the highway. Maybe I'll just have to find another road to travel. Another type of family. Another dream to catch.Maybe find somebody to "Roll with me". Thanks for putting that song out there and all your music Holly.

great song, great talent. never heard her before, found the song Alone, loved it - then heard Drinkin' - loved it. Found Waiting on June and laughed and bawled through that PERFECT song. I haven't heard one single song yet that I don't absolutely LOVE. Every record will be bought on my next payday. Every single one. LOVE her voice. What a talent - and I listened first - didn't even pay attention to the name. Didn't even think about it, until she introduced "Waiting On June" on the American Songwriter video - which is where I heard that for the first time". So truly, no undue influence, she is a tremendous talent and the best singer I've heard in many, many years. I just don't know how today is the first day I've heard her sing and play. Awesome, awesome, can't be stated enough times, awesome talent.
Holly if ur readin this, i want u to know Just how much i love this album.i play it, ran right out after saw u on cbs n bought it, over n over again.l can't get enough of it. Every track is a hit. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
3 years later now and I'm still coming back to hear Holly's amazing vocals and songwriting ability "On The Highway." Just like with "Drinking" and one of the most beautiful, soulful, emotionally honest, true love, and life songs I've ever heard written and sang about a love so pure and real in my life with "Waitin On June." With the life and love coming full circle about your grandparents commitment to one another throughout their entire lives together. There just aren't very many songs written like that anymore. Something that really touches a persons soul listening to a song so real and describing a couples unconditional love for one another that goes beyond their time on this earth together. It's one of those rare songs that puts you there in those moments and has you thinking I hope that I can find my soulmate to have that in my life. Something that I believe we all search for. I just believe it's maybe the most beautiful and amazing song ever written. As an amateur songwriter I hope I can see or experience something like that through my lifetime and will be able to portray it even half as well as you did for them. That's when I'll know I will have putt some music out there into the world that will truly change some people's outlook and even their lives. All of it is a great inspiration to me and affected me in so many different ways that it drives me harder to one day have an amazing artist like yourself hear something I've written and it affect them like that song did for me. Enough so they want it for themselves to reach and touch other people. That's what I want most in my songwriting and don't even care to make a penny from it. Just be richer by enriching some others lives with the music. Something you have done for me. Keep making the wonderful music that you do and having it reach all of our souls. Thank you for it, with love, a romantic dreamer from Kentucky who will always be a grateful fan, Michael
I knew of your father and grandfather. They were what I was raised on. It's good to see ya keepin' up their tradition. And ya do make it sound good. True country.

I've been sitting here wondering if I'll ever get
Back to those wheels, will I ever be
Changing those strings out before nine
I am wishing for the life that I used to live
Giving everything that I had to give
In a brand new city 'bout every night
Missing those nights, missing that sky, I been missing home
Missing their smiles, missing those miles, I been missing home
Out there on the highway, out there on the open road
Ooh baby will you roll with me, roll with me
Head down to New Orleans
I should be wearing out the blacktop
Out there with the boys I love
Everybody will you roll with me, roll with me
Running down this dream
And get me out there on the highway
I've been sitting here asking him every night
For a brand new song and a piece of mind
The road is all I think about these days
All I need is out there, I will be just fine
With a 6 string guitar and a jug of wine
When the lights go down around that stage
Missing those nights, missing that sky, I been missing home
Yeah, I been missing home
Out there on the highway, out there on the open road
Ooh baby will you roll with me, roll with me
Head down to New Orleans
I should be wearing out the blacktop
Out there with the boys I love
Everybody will you roll with me, roll with me
Running down this dream
I miss the sound of rubber rolling out my window
And that crescendo the highway brings
Oh, these wheels are gonna keep me spinning all my days
Out here on the highway
Roll with me, roll with me
Yeah honey will you roll with me, roll with me
Out there on the highway
