If that little KA does infact end up at auction it will be a bargain for someone, visually it will just need a front bumper. Hope your keeping well mate, keep the vlogs coming. Very interesting to see the wee white car you picked up in London area. The reg that began with SP is registered over Perth & Dundee area’s. Owners must have moved South at a guess. All the Buses & Coaches Stagecoach bought new going to Perth Dundee & Fife always began with SP mate. So that’s useful facts for you I’m sure ur sleep better for knowing that. Speaking of sleep I’ll get off shortly as I’m hiring out a Scooter at Glenrothes tomorrow so can go for a small M&S food shop. So that’ll be dinner sorted for next 2 day’s. Great video as always & I’m looking forward to hear ur big news pal. Keep up the good work you top man . 👍👍

      Couple of experiences myself of Scottish reg’d vehicles making it down South. Til 5 years ago, Reading’s entire fleet of Buses (Berkshire) were all on Scottish reg’s (not visited since so unaware whether that’s still the case), probably just to do with getting best value I guess. Also friend of mine bought a brand new 13 plate Focus soon after the superceding plate came out (54?); I believe the Scottish Dealer had registered a whole bunch of unsold cars and then sent lorry loads of em down South to get ‘em sold. Believe I remember an old 'Auto Trader' article that said you can buy the same vehicle cheaper in Scotland, even after transport expenses bringing it down South

    • @rossmcgarrie9787

    Hi Kev! First off all, it is always nice to watch your video's! Keep up the good work! I have a question about the logic behind the numberplate numbers in the UK, if there is any. You mentioned the 63 plate on the little Hyundai i10 in the beginning of the video. Why do you mention this? Is there any logic behind those numbers so mentioning the number on the plate is interesting? I am not from the UK and I keep wondering if the number has something to do with a series of plates or the moment when the car is registered? I hope to hearing form you soon! Thanks a lot in advance!

    • @KevTee
      @KevTee  4 роки тому +2

      Hi Lars, numbers on a registration plate can indeed denote the year of registration provided it's not a private plate. They change twice a year so a 13 = 2013 and 63 = the mid year change, the following year would be 14 =2014 then 64 for the mid year change. Then the mid year changes for 2020 would be 70 = 2020, 71 = 2021, 72 = 2022 ect. Hope that makes sense, bit of a convoluted system but makes sense once your use to it 😂

    • @cmartin_ok
      @cmartin_ok 4 роки тому

      It's down to cost - insurance co's seem to insist on using genuine manufacturer's new parts. The cost of those, plus the cost of providing a courtesy car means that so often, it's cheaper to just pay out to the owner, then they can sell the car for rebuild and not have to worry about the cost of loan car etc. We had a 2005 Fiesta in the family that was lightly damaged but still driveable after a front ender. Insurance co wanted to write it off at approx £2700 to repair (plus loan car) but we got it fixed privately for just over £700 - huge differemce in parts prices and using independent local body shop with fair labour hourly rate

      @@cmartin_ok Yes it is a shame they don't drop their standards for a certain age of car. I know someone who managed to get a 15 year old (at the time) rover 400 repaired after a rear end shunt. They used a new old stock OEM bumper, painted it, valeted the car, transported it 100 miles each way to and from the body shop and 1 week courtesy car!! For something like a minor bump some people don't realize they can buy the car back off the insurance and continue using it as it is if they don't care about the car's appearance!
