- The FULL raw run of Chase Hiller furiously speeding down this narrow, and extremely dangerous Sierra Nevada Mountain pass.
After our little local event, the Wolf Creek Outlaw, we set off to skate and film this gnarly pass. Its steep, weird pavement, usually high traffic, has no guard rails, and cliffs everywhere. We would not recommend trying this one... Chase Hiller is just one of the worlds best riders, so its okay if he does it.
I did put this run in a smaller, cut edit. But figured I should put up the raw uncut version. Soooo ENJOY!

I’ve had my longboard for about 6 months and the one thing that has always concerned me going downhill is stopping. But now I’ve seen the answer. I assume those are automotive brake pads on his gloves. Definitely wouldn’t go to the extreme of these videos but having those pads would give me some courage to attack a small hill and who knows from there. Would love to at least gain enough speed to make the board slide into a turn. You guys are the greatest! God Speed
Hey friend it’s all putting your wheels sideways, aka sliding. There is no breaks on the gloves. It helps control you but you don’t even need them In reality. Always should have them tho cause it helps when you fall. But It’s ALL with pushing your wheels sideways, like a drift.

I mean what do you do if there is a Motorcycle in one of those hairpins.

Most of the times they're using spotters - somebody who stay in corners and tell the rider if there are vehicles ahead. They're also using walkie-talkie sometimes
How fast are you going??
IIISentorIII I’ve seen videos where they use spotters on motorcycles that ride down before them and the skateboarder had an earpiece and that’s how they did it.
I just have one question: How do you manage to maintain balance with what I can only assume are gigantic metallic clackers?

Why no protective gear? like elbow pads or that lightweight vest?
Protective gear makes you kinda heavy and it takes more effort to move around but this is from my personal experience

Absolutely astonishing but one question safety-wise:
At 1:02, what if the bus/truck was still turning in the curb at the exact moment the rider needed to go on the inside of the turn (apex) to slide/brake as he was riding down to the turn so bloody fast ??? I mean, would he manage to pass that with such speed by sliding while only staying on the outside of the turn???
Yes. He would have been able to still pass staying on the outside of his lane. Maybe not everyone would have been able to pull it off, but chase is one of the most skilled riders, and that would have not been a problem for him

yea, I could not agree more! I'm thinking of Chase the day he goes down and notices a car the opposite way approaching 30 yards away.... be careful Chase, gosh!!! use those hand breakers sooner and learn to negotiate the curves more ahead of time and know to safely avoid oncoming traffic!

the entire thing is no fall.. 2016 death ride I saw a rider go off the road roughly at 3:30 search and rescue had to be called and airlifted out.
