Rodeln am Astberg in Going / Elmau 15.01.2020

Morgendliche Temperaturen von -3 bis -4°C, ein strahlend blauer Himmel und eine sehr gut präparierte Bahn versprachen einen guten Rodeltag.
Einzig es hielt nicht so lang ein wie gehofft. Trotzt geringer Belastung und weniger Leihrodler hielt die Bahn nicht durch so daß wir um 12:00 Uhr vorzeitig abgebrochen haben.
Daß Die Bahn aktuell so schnell so weich und tief wird scheint wohl daran zu liegen, daß sich die verfestigte, zumindest teilweise aus Naturschnee bestehende Unterlage nicht mit der Auflage aus Kunstschnee verbindet.
Wärmere Temperaturen die dazu Fürher daß es etwas antaut oder der für das Wochenende angesagte Schneefall könnten hier Abhilfe schaffen.

That's so fuckin' cool! I am envious. My wife and I will be in that area of Austria, but this summer, so keine rodeln. We really want to come in Winter since we are both skiiers. I notice that Elmau seems to be one of your top favorites and judging by the bottom 1/4 mile, I can understand why..…...

Kitzbuhel is only 15 minutes away from Astberg. The lift also operates in summer (i think) This way you can take a look at the rodelbahn and take a walk to the Brenneraln have some lunch while having a stunning view over the valley and the Wilder Kaiser.

Thanks Marco! I am currently figuring out how many nights we will be in Kitzbuhel since this is a 16 day trip for us through Switzerland, Italy, Austria and Germany. Logistical nightmare-
