  • Did you know that experienced International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) elevator mechanics who have passed the NEIEP Mechanic Exam can earn a nationally-recognized ANSI/ANAB-accredited certification as an elevator inspector or elevator inspector supervisor through the Qualified Elevator Inspector Training Fund (QEITF)?
QEI Elevator Inspectors are recognized across the United States and Canada as respected code experts who are an asset to the companies they work for and the owners of the equipment they service, as well as the other tradespeople who work alongside them. Through this training and certification program, they learn the ins and outs of understanding, navigating, and interpreting American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) codes, National Electrical Code (NEC)/National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes, and other codes that keep conveyance equipment running and improve safety for tradespeople and the riding public.

My Dad works as an elevator inspector. He took the class in Maryland back in 2016, and passed the test. He loves his job very much. He used to work as an elevator constructor, and did that for almost 40 years.
