Truly a great recording. It has the same improvisatory approach as Rachmaninov himself in his recording. I wonder if Rachmaninov would have uttered te same words to Gheorghiu as he did to Moiseiwitsch about the performance of his works, had he heard Gheorghiu play this piece.
