Why near reflex is present in the amaurotic eye? Is it indirect from the other eye
Actually near reflex has two components ie, accomodation reflex & convergence reflex and it is a combination of 3 phenomena - miosis, increased convexity of lens & medial rotation of eyeball... Only the pathway for the accomodation reflex initially follows the light reflex pathway... The pathway of convergence reflex is completely different from that... So, near reflex is relatively intact even in case of optic nerve lesions... Pls do take a look on the pathway of near reflex too...
