@@gocygo63 thank you..in those days whe teams was'ent on tv every weekend.it was a must to watch when they had a bama game highlighted.. and he did'ent just have highlights of so caled power conference teams but games from the ivy league and smaller colleges division 2 and 3
I used to love watching that show as a kid with Bill Fleming I loved how it showed the big games and when the teams played on offense they played the schools fight song each time the team had the ball it was really great
Gosh - the girls in the audience and the cheerleaders are so pretty. To me, much prettier than they are today. But then, I'm rather old and of that generation.
Johnny Majors did better at Pitt. Earle Bruce replaced Majors next season. Bruce had some good seasons at Iowa State. Like at Ohio State Bruce had trouble losing 📉 less than 3 games a season
Alrighty! All the parts I have are up. If you are interested in learning about the players that received All-American honors for Iowa State, look no further then here goo.gl/th6ZiL. Have a nice day!
Interesting how many white Southerners played for Georgia Tech and the number of black Southerners playing for Iowa State. GT wasn't all-white back then, but it's clear they had a limited number of black players at a time when most Southern teams were just beginning to integrate.
What you say is true - starting about a year or two after this game, southern schools started to integrate their teams. Soon thereafter we started to see southern schools start to dominate the top rankings in the NCAA. This proves the old saying that diversity is strength.
Tech was waaaay ahead of most schools in the south. Coach Bud Carson signed Eddie McShan at quarterback in 1969, the first black person to play that position at a major school in the deep south. I remember that it was somewhat controversial, but people got over it.
Love watching these classic college football games
College football - ABC - Bill Flemings intros and hilights = Doesnt get any better.
bill fleming was the host of a sunday morning highlight show...i don't remeber the name
Next time, try to "remember."

Should have been Oklahoma State instead of Iowa State! They finished 6-5 and defeated Iowa State 45-14 in November of 1972! 😝
Do you have the rest of this game? And if so, are you planning to upload it? Thanks!
I have all of the first half. Sadly I do not have more. They can be up within 10 minutes if you'd like?
I would really appreciate it. And if the commercials are included in there, that's OK. I like looking at them too!

Interesting that all the Iowa St players gave the black power/power to the people salute and only one GT did so.
@@merccadoosis8847 So? I was in the service at this time. i saw the power sign given often. No biggie

Interesting that the only GT player who gave that sign was a Californian. It's a good sign which I've used often enough over the years.
