I’m 62 and still have my 1955 Bambi airstream grew up with it and lived close to the ocean. I primerly use it during the winter times. It’s warm inside where no one is around only wild life

Former Bounder RV owner. We have a 2023 Pottery Barn 28 ft Airstream now. We love that the roof will never rot, the sides won’t delaminate or we don’t have to worry about our slides getting stuck open. Pulls like you aren’t pulling anything. Aerodynamic.

I am a widower and I have no pets. I tow my 2020 Flying Cloud with a 2004 1/2 ton Silverado V8. I have made three trips from Oregon to Florida. Any problems with the rig are something I do to it. I also fix what I break. I LOVE it and it fits me just fine. I am now a full time RV person with a home base in Florida. My rig has plenty of storage and I keep my kayak and fishing gear in the Silverado. The 25 footer with rear twin beds is just fine for a single male. It is worth more than I paid for it and I have no plans to sell it. Thanks for the video.

I never worked there, but have taken a tour. They are high priced, and can't say it is justified. I have camped alot and never saw very many in the campgrounds.
We love our 2019 27' Airstream Globetrotter FB. We bought it new and never regretted our decision. We first started with a 2016 23' Flying Cloud and quickly found out we needed more space while camping. We are not full timers but want to take long trips 6 months to a year in the near future. Right now we camp 1-2 weeks at a time and we camp often. It is true although we bought new we got the extended warranty and had to use it to have a good many things fixed over a three year period. We keep ours maintenanced and plan on keeping it forever. We've added a lot of extras to make it our own. We've always admired Airstreams and when it came time to buy an RV we never considered anything else. I love your channel and have been following you since we started Rving. We bought a new Classic 30 in September of 21. Kept it for one year and sold it primarily due to the storage limitations mentioned . The shower was cramped and we had a lot of trouble with the electronic control panel. Had to travel over 8 hours to find a dealer that even had any experience servicing the panel. The first couple that looked at it bought it, so Airstreams still have a steady following. I do miss the Airstream mystique and owner exchanges of information which is second to none. I still nod at them when we approach one going by on the road. BTW, we purchased a gas class A and it has the storage we needed, but like most of the rvs being produced today, quality control at the plants is in short supply. If you’re buying a new rig, get it inspected by a certified inspector. It will cost $750-$1,000 but it’s probably the best money you’ll spend. Well done video Liz.
8 hours to find the service you needed? For an expensive camper? Unacceptable! Service should be 100% convenient and red carpet.
We are on our 3rd Airstream. The first was over 40 years old when we sold it. After 2 30 footers and more SOBs (some other brand) than I care to admit to due to trying to save money, we bought our third used 25 foot Airstream and we finally feel home again. Nothing like traveling in an Airstream. Just be sensible and make it work. Keep up on the maintenance, treat it right and it will return the favor. Absolutely all rvs need service. We have made lifetime friendships over the years through our Airstream connections. Its worth every penny.
Liz, even though I have no interest in RVs I happen to just click on this and found it to be very interesting and educational. Also, you come across as very articulate and professional in the way that you speak to your audience. Not many UA-cam presenters can say that. 👍.
My husband and I have a 2022 28' Flying Cloud and we love it. We have not had any issues with storage at all. If we do need extra storage we just use the back of the truck that has a bed slide in it to make access much easier. Before our AS we had a 27' Class A that after the first time we took it out we were already talking trade. Even with 2 slides we were not as comfortable in it as we are in our AS. It is a keeper for us!

My dad had a Airstream trailer for over 60 years, it was never stored inside and never leaked a drop of water anywhere. That thing was built like a tank. He gutted the inside in the 90s to modernize it. Lots of great camping memories in that thing.

We just bought an Airstream Bambi 16 ft. We bought used 2011. It’s in perfect condition. We specifically wanted an Airstream bc no slides, great towing, nimble great for getting up going for weekends and longer. The ability to fit in small sites. We didn’t want anything big bc it’s not something we are looking to spend a lot of time inside of. It is absolutely perfect for us. It actually has quite a bit more storage then you would think. Plus the windows!! Comfort & quality can’t be beat. It will be our one & only.

You’re lucky you bought it before the prices went insane.
We just purchased an airstream in May of this year. We love it. Yes there are glitches with fixing things - but there is that with everything. It's easy to tow; I find lots of storage for us (couple with dog) and there is so many updates in it that others don't have. The living riveted (rather than staples) and the solid floor and cabinetry is amazing. But the best part is the customer service from our dealership in Ontario. @CanAmRV is a class in its own.

Hi Liz, I think some people buy them just for the "Iconic, nostalgic" reason, but hey if you have the money and it fits for your style, go for it!
That could very well be true Kathy.Maybe you are just paying for the name. I do know that airstream owners are very enthusiastic about their brand so when you buy one, you get a strong community.
I agree with you and Kathy….. seems like a ‘cool’ trendy thing, but with that you definitely find like-minded friends. Personally, I’d love the ease of towing and the amount of light. And I do like how it looks. Maybe if I were single but I don’t think it would work for us as a couple due to storage limits and maybe not enough room to move inside. I do enjoy having ppl in sometimes.

When I was a kid my mom, for whatever reason, would just rail against Airstreams and call them ugly every time we saw one going down the road. Meanwhile we putted around with a 17' Mobile Traveler behind a 1974 AMC Matador station wagon- UGH! 🙂 Naturally I had a bias against Airstreams, but as I got older I really gained an appreciation for them. I love how they have remained relatively unchanged and hearken back to yesterdecade, but I am a nostalgic old soul at heart. If I am being honest though the lack of storage would wear on me.

Thanks Paul. Yes, they sure are nice to look at. It's cool that so many of the old ones are still on the road. Not only do they seem to last forever, but they do hold their value.
We enjoyed your video. Well, we didn't have the money to purchase new or even one several years old. So we did find one that was close to us in Challis, Idaho. It's a 24' 1959 Tradewind, it had good bones, all the original cabinets. The man we bought it from had inherited it from his father who was the original owner. Anyway, after 5yrs of restoration and less than $20k and we have nearly brand new 1959 Airstream and love it. She has some character and blemish marks, but it's in great shape and really enjoy camping in it.

Liz left that out as an advantage, resale value. I have never owned one but an Airstream would be on my list if we were shopping for a travel trailer.
She should have also added no slideout(s) as a selling point.

The most impressive thing about an Airstream is its road worthiness. Stability, handling, ease of towing. I no longer fear being buffeted by crosswinds, or getting passed by a bus. If you travel, than the Airstream is worth it. If you go somewhere and park it for three months at each stop, then no.
One thing they didn't mention is the ease of pulling an Airstream. They are streamlined and aerodynamic which means you don't get blown around when a big truck passes you or there are high winds. We bought a used 30' 2014 with 2 recliners instead of a couch. We love our Airstream. We don't mind having less storage, because we have come to realize we don't need a lot of stuff. We are a couple who fulltime since Oct 2019. We wanted an AS because of the quality since we planned to live in it fulltime. We paid much less because it was used, but we could probably sell it for more than we paid for it. New ones are expensive, but Airstream forums lists used AS for affordable prices.

Slides leak.... I've been camping 45 years. I finally got a Airstream. Every other brand leaked and fell apart. No staples in a Airstream. We got our 2015 Flying Cloud for $60K. It's worth every penny. I wanted pre-covid.
Absolutely! You need a whole lot less TV to pull an Airstream. And, a whole lot less fuel.

My wife and I lived in a used, 34 foot Airstream for ten years. Florida, Top of Georgia, California. It was one of the best times of our lives. Look it over well before you pay. Stay in a close by campground so you can easily get things fixed. Our refrigerator died on day three, stay close to the dealer at first. It’s really important.
It’s now seven months from my last post, we have been in Portugal for the past three years. We are planning on going back to the U,S. And buying another used airstream. Good luck.
Another great video. I watched someone else recently that I have never watched before and it was rough. I could only take about twenty minutes of the 30 minute video. The twenty minutes I watched could have been done in two minutes. I commented and told him to watch your videos as they have a ton of information in a short period of time without constantly repeating like he did. Keep up the great work!

I live full time in my Airstream Caravel 20FB and it is perfect for me! I agree with everything they have said about them 100%. I pull mine with a Chevy Tahoe with no issues. My dinette is converted to a large lounge with pillows and I have a huge kitchen and full bath. They are built like a tank. 2+ years FT living and nothing has broken yet! Knock on wood!
Liz, you made a great video about the. Airstream trailers. My Grandfather had Airstream trailers for many years, late 50’s through early 70’s. They lasted.

We have a 2017 28’ International Serenity it’s just my wife and I and we are very comfortable in it. As far as the air conditioning we did have to add an additional AC that has helped tremendously! As far as our mattress we are very happy with it, it’s very comfortable. And we are so happy with the quality build of Airstream, as far as storage we find that there is enough for our needs. Although they are expensive we could probably get what we paid new, that’s how much they’ve gone up. Enjoyed your video!

Three years ago, I bought a used 34' ft 1997 Airstream Excella and have no regrets. I love all of the windows, skylights and my side-by-side frig. It easily divides into three living areas: living room/kitchen, bathroom/dressing area, and bedroom. My major expense was to change out the pvc plumbing with PEX. My insurance company insured it for 3 times the price I paid. I basically keep it on my daughter's property in the Sierras as my own living space when there - even in winter. I do have a separate small storage shed on her property for seasonal items.

We bought a 1985 airstream and completely rebuilt the interior. The appliances have all been replaced. I’d get another but it’s not 4-season so appreciate you mentioning the Oliver. It’s a little small for us however.
Love the Airstream but not into the price right now. Maybe when I retire in a couple of years. Right now I mostly camp without my husband in my 15' T@b teardrop. It was an adjustment in paring down to what is really needed, but I love it. You've been a great resource for full-time and class A which I'm considering for retirement. We have been traveling with a Casita a very well built fiber glass trailer. We have loved every minute of our little excursions in her. We are now upgrading to an Airstream Flying Cloud - it is HUGE compared to the Casita. We don't full time and don't intend to, but we have found that even in a very small space, you can make it work and be very happy with it.
Found a used 2008 Jayco Grey Hawk with only 7,100 miles. Near new condition. $35,000. No separate truck to own. Nothing to tow. No expensive solar panels and very expensive batteries.
The way I see it, that buys a boatload of fuel, propane, etc.
Lots of storage inside and out. I can put my motorcycle on a carrier on the back and go do what I want to do.
I own a 2012 25 foot Eddie Bauer with the rear hatch. I absolutely love it. I like to say it has everything you need and nothing you don't.

We have a 30’ 2021 Airstream. We have criss crossed the country with no issues. Air conditioning works great ( we are Florida residents), it pulls great and we have more than enough storage for the both of us. Surprisingly even though we bought it new it is worth more today.

I have a 1972 Land Yacht Sovereign I bought a couple years ago. No intention of pulling it all around, just have it in my backyard updating ...put in a new vinyl floor, painted and was lucky to find most everything is in good shape. The windows are amazing..they don't leak. Has a rear bathroom which I am waiting to see if I might want to put a master bedroom there as now it has twin beds in the middle. I am single and that is ok. My plan is to either put it on a piece of land with a separate 10x20 building which would be the master bath, toilet, walk-in closet and laundry. Put a deck ALL AROUND IT and only pull it out to go to RV Parks that have showers etc. I love it and it may very well stay in my back yard FOREVER and be my zen office GETAWAY. LOVE your videos.

When I was looking for an RV my neighbor, a retired RV dealer who sold Airstream and I believe Country Coach. He said one of the first things to qualify a customer was to determine if they were going to be on the go or staying in spots longer. He said that on the go peeps, they would steer toward the Airstreams. I bought an Airstream and I am happy with it. Yes, it is like an airplane. but I am amazed at the storage- what you can get into it is shocking. My particular model, a Safari, similar to your friends in the video (I have the padded ceiling and carpeted walls- like it) does not have the wrap-around windows so the living in a glass house feeling, I dont have. I too like light but I do not like non-private bedrooms full of windows, even with curtains. This lowers the insulation factor and I do not like that.
We have a 2008 22' Safari that we bought new in 2009 which was on the lot for about 8 months; We both like the full bathroom at the rear, & took out the dinette in the forward compartment so it's a full time bed now. I like how easy it is to pull with our 2003 4X4 extra cab Silverado with a 5.3 I sometimes get 19-20 mpg pulling it on flat land interstates. It's been a pretty trouble free travel trailer, & We use it 4 to 5 times a year for 4 day weekends. One other thing they are pretty easy to work on. Silver Quinkies rule😉.
I have never evn stepped into an RV, but I enjoy following you weekly and find all of this very interesting. Sometimes I think renting one of these and travelling across the country would be fun. Maybe someday.

My wife and I looked at the Airstream Flying Cloud and we fell in love. I’ll be looking for a used one when we retire in a few more years and sell what we have now.
We looked at one of the smaller ones back in 2021. We ended up with a 2022 TAB 400. For us it was enough room. Being small your not hauling a bunch of unnecessary crap along. Thanks for the video.

Hey Beautiful.. I always love your spunky, but business attitude. Airstreams are great looking and nostalgic Silver Bullets of days gone by of romantic glamour camping. They're just too small.. They're great for short periods of camping, but not at what they cost.
If I'm going to spend $200k on a RV, it's going to be a lot bigger..

We (obviously) chose an Airstream for our full time RV adventure. We are finding the storage very adequate for our needs, in fact we have some space left over! The high price was ironically a positive for us. A business acquaintance of mine always drove a Mercedes. He told me that, due to the high resale value, it was the cheapest car he ever owned! The resale value is what most people do not facture in. I drove a Harley for 6 yrs. during Covid prices rose sharply. I sold it for $ 1000. less that I got it for 6 yrs later.
Amazingly the Mercedes depreciates so rapidly after the first 2 years of use I'm suprised that statement was made. Ive owned many late model Benz V8 sedans that cost 1/3 of the retail price just a couple years before, best kept secret in the luxury car market including the SL's if you're so inclined. Airstreams in my opinion are overpriced for the value, they are well built, they do last provided they are taken care of and there is a large restoration market as well as many do it your self individuals that restore them, however, as Liz stated I could not full time in one & I've been full time in my Gulfstream coach for nearly 10 years now with plently of room and zero "blow around" steering issues in wind of any sort. They are unique, just not for me.
Wow! That was eye opening. I like theirs but could never full time in it. I’d feel so claustrophobic without my slides.
After spending a couple hours in a few of them at the dealer lot, I feel less that they would be claustrophobic. All those windows really help. But perhaps best for a solo traveler.

I adore Airstreams. We just upgraded to a larger one. I wouldn't have ANY other brand. I love ours like it has a heartbeat. Airstreamers are like a large family you automatically feel a kinship.

We had a bidding war in our driveway when we sold our first Airstream to upgrade. Ended up getting more than we originally paid for it. Then recently sold our 29’ Airstream that we’d used sor 18 years and made a little on it. Now on our 3rd and smallest 25’ and won’t sell it for love or $! Our family members have had high end motor homes es and TT that have delaminated and literally fallen apart driving down the road that are newer than out Airstreams. Also want to mention that we have enough storage in our 25 to accommodate all the “stuff” that we moved from our 2 previous rigs with a little storage space to spare. I guess it’s true as we always say…we don’t live in our Airstream; we live out of our Airstream. We didn’t buy the brand to stay indoors although we’ve had 6 people inside to eat and play cards or watch a movie comfortably. That said we also have a philosophy 6 for cocktails, 4 for dinner but only 2 to spend the night if it’s more than a single night if guests. No slides, not too many electronic components, intentionally. You’ve got to own an Airstream and use it for awhile to customize it to whatever lifestyle you enjoy to appreciate the beauty and value of them. Can’t agree with the cons mentioned, just not necessarily true at least as we’ve found.

My wife and I have been traveling full time for 6 months in a 2018 27’ Flying Cloud FBQ and we love it. It has plenty of space for the two of us. We do use the truck bed for storage. We upgraded the batteries to 400amp hours of lithium with 800 watts of solar on the roof. This gives us plenty of flexibility to dry camp at state and national parks as well as BLM sites.

Net Carrying Capacity is 1,500 lbs. We replaced 2 lead acid batteries with 4 lithium batteries and added 8 solar panels that weigh 15 pounds each.

We have a 2022 30 foot Airstream International and we love it! We live in it six months at a time (we have a house in New England) and have had zero problems. We have plenty of storage for the two of us and the a/c is ice cold (we have two). We are very happy with our decision to get an Airstream but we know they are not for everyone.

About 40 years ago, my family had a Silver-dome. The parents to the Airsteam now. If I could choose between the two? I would take the Silver-dome hands down. The wood work and solidness of it was just beautiful. You can't find that in any trailer now days. It was heavy as hell but, it would go anywhere, some of them we really shouldn't have gone too. I really do miss that trailer!

I have always thought of getting one. We have a seasonal site with lots of trees etc and probably not the trailer for us now. We do travel 3-4 times a summer. Thought of getting a second trailer, older Airstream, for traveling. We can always dream. Got 5-6 years to retire so we will see. Thanks for the video.

Tiny Shiny Home has an Airstream and they live in it with four kids! They hate cooking in it during the summer because it's too hot to cook inside. Plus they have two dogs.

In a NE WA campground when I was camped there , one RV had the slides out and they would not go back in , this is number 4 I’ve seen !
Plus water leaks two campers told me about with their slides !

Walked into one, and I really thought the skylight and upper windows was refreshing ! My Travel trailer and Fifth wheel - I love the slide outs, I love the high ceilings but the cabinets are always at eye level and that bugs me a lot.
I am all for changing up things in our Rvs to suit us. I was wondering how all those solar panels fit on what looks like a rounded roof

Great video! I dreamed of owning a smaller airstream, but the price was too much for me. I ended up with a NuCamp TAB 400 and I love it. It was expensive, but not like the Airstream.

Just started watching these - NO RV experience, just curious. Testament to the nice host and easy presentation. A real person. Great job! To the many problems highlighted in this community, wow! , these really are disposable homes for the most part. Airstream has the right engineering idea - metal body to a metal frame. Just like a car. Keep it simple. And less storage = less junk to cart around.

Airstream and Harley- Davidson, in a class of their own?
A long time ago, around 1981 I had a conversation with a man that was in a KOA campground. At the time I was in a small Layton RV and new to the full time RV world. He had a large motorhome, a diseal pusher. He was much older than I. He told me the story about a couple that he had met. The people that he was referring to had been full time RV' ing and was complaining about people that owned Airstreams. "They are snobs, they think that they are better than the rest of us."
The funny thing Is that they ended up purchasing an Airstream trailer and became the epitomy of the very people they once despised. Constantly bragging about their Airstream and thumbing their nose at everyone else.I am not saying that everyone that owners an Airstream is like that; I am confident in believing that there are plenty of good people to go around regardless of what you own.
So what does this have to do with Harley Davidson motor cycles? I have always been a fan of Honda motorcycles, I do not fit the profile of the Hell's Angle's trouble maker image; I just like riding big bikes. Wel,l I had parked my Honda next to a bunch of Harley Davidson bikes and had a bite to eat with my girlfriend. When we were done and left I saw that my bike was laying down.
There was a note on it " Dont Park a Honda Next to Harley Davidson's" At first I was steaming mad, but I was not about to go to the hospital over it! A few minutes later I thought it was rather funny. Whoever put my bike on the ground took their time and did not simply shove it over. They placed a large bleach blanket on the ground and gently laid it down. Okay, I get it. Stuck up, maybe? I respect the Harley guys. Thanks for the free blanket.

Great video with an interesting review Liz, thank you! I can certainly appreciate the historical significance, looks and build quality of an Airstream, however logistically it simply would not work for us. Too little storage capacity is a major concern. Our coach is a 44' bath and a half Dutch Star which we love, I can't imagine trading it for any other RV.

Hey girl, Gary from Kansas here. Nice video about Airstreams. I agree, I don't think I would want one. I heard they are made well and the bottom is completely sealed, keeping out rodents. When we were in Santa Fe last month, a gentleman pulled up next to our spot in a brand new one that he picked up the day before in Phoenix. It was his first night camping in it. It looked pretty, but I agree that it looks like space is a problem. He was in a rush to head back to Kansas City, so I didn't get to have a tour of it. I have to say that you have one beautiful motorhome. I love the space you have inside! And the doors are awesome!! Anyway, as I always tell you, keep these awesome videos coming and stay safe! Recently had friends buy their first Pottery Barn model. They had mentioned getting one for a couple of years and they finally were ready to buy. Within a month I guess, they were regretting their choice. Traded it in on a Brinkley.
Many people love them but be aware, they're small. Really small.
I'm with you Liz. I love Airstreams, but I don't love them enough to spend 5 to 10 times what I paid for my 2020 Forest River 25fks. I am not full-time, and its just me and my dog. But we are going to tour the country over the next few years. My FR has many flaws, but I can make do for now. thanks for your video!

Quality!! They are so more classy than everything else in the market place. They hold their value, minimize what you need to bring, simply stated they are just a class act. Everything else looks so cheap.
I've been hearing bad things about the new ones, in fact I did a video about someone who had a brand new one whose controller went bad. It was a nightmare. But they sure are eye candy. I'd recommend getting an older one for sure. Thanks for watching.
I think any type of travel trailer is a rip off, if im getting an rv it will have a motor in it. Either a van or motor home. The trailers seem like a royal pain, I can't stand getting behind one on the road going like 10 mph to protect their $80,000 depreciating glam trailer XD

They confirmed something I thought, buying a used RV is better than buying a new one.
Also when I bought my Airstream, Airstream asked me to participate in a survey as a new customer. What was interesting is the other new customers were either engineers or architects. One architect said he loved the Airstream b/c it had no right angles like a cave and another described it as a womb. The magic of Airstream is the simple design which can evoke primal feelings.

Always admired them. The A/C and insulation issues sound serious. In this day and age surely cold a/c and modern technically excellent insulation and sound proofing should be standard in an Airstream.

Love my airstream. It's 22fb with a really comfortable bed. I don't full time but it meets my needs of camping around 30 days a year. My trailer only weighs 3500lbs and has 800lbs capacity. We bought before covid so the price was reasonable. They also tow very easy and I get 14-15 mpg towing. Construction is nice becuse they are riveted and not stapled.

If I where to go from an Airstream, it would probably be either an Oliver or a Brinkley. I currently live in a Lance truck camper and love it. Decided to move into a larger home. I did go with the Brinkley G3500 schedule delivery end of January 2024.

From personal experience, field techs will not work on the 'throw-away' Dometic AC units used these days. It was so bad in my Black Series RV that I replaced my Dometic unit with a Roughneck unit with a start-up capacitor (to allow smaller generators to run it) and I've never had an issue from that point. The roughneck units are used in trailers in oil fields, if you didn't know.

My parents owned an Airstream in the 80s & 90s & sold it in the 2000s when they moved to an assisted living community. They went to CO every summer for about a mo & also took many shorter trips. We never knew they were so pricey until hubby retired & we thought we'd get one too. Needless to say we couldn't afford the price back then in 2013.

I only buy Hondas and Toytota automobales for one simple reason, resale value. I am often tempted to buy another brand of automobiles, but can not justify the rapid depreciation of some cars like a Mercides or Cadillic. Airstream is not a bad choice, but as Liz pointed out, not for everyone.
I looked at a airstream today I was interested in, Flying cloud FB but had manual jacks, for the price tag it should come with power stabilizer.

Bought my 1999 Airstream Bambi in January 2000. Been all over the country over the 23 years of ownership and will be going out west for 3 months in her soon. Only thing we have repaired/replaced have been the China bomb tires (Michelin LT tires now, no issue in 7 years) water pump brakes, and axle this year. All other alliances are still original and working like the day we bought her. Not sure if a $200,000 Airstream can be sold for that amount 20 years later, but I can sure sell my Bambi for same or even more 23 years later 😂

I like elbow room. I couldn't consider a travel trailer, except a Spacecraft. Which has to be pulled by a heavy duty truck. So the trade off would be, it won't fit in a whole lot of places.

Not a lot here about why Airstreams are so expensive mainly just pros and cons.
I get that their method of building a trailer is a lot more expensive. But I don’t but that it’s actually a 4x multiple even including better quality cabinetry etc.
If an Airstream is what you want then it is what it is. Live the dream. But there is no possible argument that can be made to show they are worth the price premium they command.
If you got a team of 10 top notch ASC certified mechanics and builders build a 40 foot fifth wheel camper using only the best light weight materials, it would be worth the cost of a 3 year old Prevost Marathon coach
We have a 1977 airstream and love it so this woman is crazy. We have enjoyed every moment of it. So many great times and memories. So she can just keep whatever she has and leave those who love their Airstreams alone. We've looked at other trailers but they were built poorly and had leaking problems. So too bad for her.

I lived in a 2018 Airstream this past summer for my job in the Utah desert. It was the same setup as this couple. I know the desert is tough on things but l couldn’t believe this RV was only 5 years old!
The water pump died. It leaked water down the side of the trailer when you used the city connection. A window shattered when l opened it.
The AC was so noisy my ears hurt and l couldn’t sleep in the bedroom until midnight in the summer because it wouldn’t cool off. The living room was barely tolerable.
You also couldn’t lock the door. We had to install a padlock because l couldn’t use the lock.
The person who lived in another Airstream had to move out because the fridge didn’t work and her front window shattered as well. She couldn’t lock her door either.
These were 2 Airstreams that were stationary. I don’t want to think about how they would have held up if they were towed.
The inside was ugly..All dark fake wood that looked cheap. I did like all the lights but you couldn’t open up half the windows.
I don’t have a good impression of Airstreams as a result. I owned a cheap Trailer Lite that held up better than these costly monstrosities.
I lived alone with my dog in it and had plenty of storage space but when my daughter came to visit it was definitely tight for 2 people and l was in the largest model. You would definitely need to be a minimalist couple and can’t imagine a family living in it full time.
In my opinion very few RV’s are worth that much, especially with the quality issues with todays RV’s. That is why I am board with your mission Liz. I could not full time in an airstream. There are so many more options that would suit us better. But to each their own.

I keep planning my retirement and I love airstreams. But the more and more I think about it. I think a pickup truck with the camp on it. And if I have to hall another trailer behind it is probably the best bet
Another broken dream. This amazing father wanted to share some amazing experiences with his daughter and RV industry ruins all of that. Walked inside an Airstream. I'm 6'4", could only stand upright in the middle. No way the bath/shower would work. Love my 2023 Keystone Cougar 22MLSWE with it's 7' ceiling, and roomy bath/shower.
