I think the issue is when people start an Instagram page and convert it to a business. Their followers (friends etc) might not match their target consumers for their business. Also the content they had on their personal page might not align with their business's brand.
I agree! I think I struggle with converting my followers to actual customers to read my work... I am in the process of trying to grow my audience outside of my network.

Literally it’s like you’re reading my mind and responding with these videos! I’ve been struggling because I have a personal brand that is more focused on fashion and lifestyle on UA-cam and on Instagram. BUT I’ve also started doing social media consulting! So I’ve been struggling on how to make those two things coexist. This was SO helpful, thanks Erin!
Great content and information. I'm new to this and my question may be a bit overkill however are you able to give an example using one of your Instagram feeds pointing out specifics relating to your talking points. Thanks
"a business brand should appear personal, and a personal brand can include business..." I definitely think this is helpful. I've seen a lot of people make their personal page into their business page (which honestly confuses me because I'd never remember following that page). That ends up being kind of irritating and can cause more bad than good IMO
I’ve been cleaning up my IG to make it look more towards my UA-cam page audience. I’m sure my old followers think I’ve changed but I’m still that same ol G but evolved!
I’m so grateful for you channel Erin! I started my channel in January but I stopped because I thought it wasn’t for me and being successful felt out of reach. But I’ve been watching your videos and you’ve been encouraging me to start UA-cam again! I have a new game plan and everything! Thank you so much 😀
This info is SO GOOD. People don't often think about branding as something that extends beyond a website. But, branding INCLUDES your social media. We also get the question all the time about multiple Instagram accounts. Thank you Erin! Such a great video. :)
Literally right on time. I have so much going on right now but when I'm leveled out enough to officially launch my business, I will be joining the e-brand club! 😊
This video was just what I needed. Been struggling with figuring out how to manage both personal and business pages, and you broke it down in DETAIL with examples and everything. Helpful, informative and very nicely explained as usual. Thank you so much for sharing! 💞
Having an Aesthetic makes an Instagram feed more pleasing to the audience eyes. When something looks good people are more likely to pay attention and engage with your feed. If you need help with choosing an Aesthetic Pinterest has loads of options and exmaples. I hope this helps :-)

Erin I'm so happy you spoke about this topic because I've seen too many time this certain type of aesthetic that is just over the top stylized. Great tips!
Naah! I think that if your brand is big enough or you hope to scale, it should be separate: 1. If you have or plan to have a team managing this area of your business, you don't necessarily want your team to have access to even your more personal messages, etc. 2. If your business name has nothing to do with your name, you might lose out on persons just remembering the name of your company and looking for a page in that name. It might also cause confusion, especially for older folks, even if you have links and hashtags with your business name, leading to a personal account. In my experience, a confused or distracted person, likely won't buy or even inquire. 3. I have read that one's posts only reach a relatively small segment of your audience. Your friends and family might not match your business' target audience and your stuff just might reach them, since you might interact with them frequently. I wouldn't want to have all my posts and especially my paid ads, going to them and not my real audience, just because algorithms pick up that they're interested in me. I don't think any amount of artificial intelligence is that intelligent to pick up who's friend from who's target audience.
