Hey Jack! Rats are actually very misunderstood creatures, as they are by far the most intelligent and affectionate rodent someone can get, but people buy mice and bunnies, etc, because they are cute. Rats can be trained just like a dog or cat to do tricks, respond to it's name, not poop unless it's in it's cage, and more. My family and I have always had one along with my cat and dog and they are amazing animals that are very affectionate!

He's so right about rats, rats are really misunderstood. My pets don't spread disease, they play and love attention, just like any other animal. They love social interaction more than most people I know, and I take them outside regularly. They love meeting new people, and they are very well trained. Most of the time, they are more like dogs or cats than plague spreading Creepy things.

As a fellow rat parent (of 24 of the stinkers) I feel you. Rats are awesome, and it sucks they get labelled as vermin and disease spreading monsters. They incredibly intelligent, social and have complex emotional capabilities; they're capable of empathy, can become depressed when alone or when a member of their mischief dies.
Any time someone says rats should die I want to strangle someone. Especially when they say it *about your pet rats*, not even just wild rats, but actually wish death upon a furry family member. People suck, rats are way friendly than humans.

I mean they did spread the plague (because the fleas) and have this thing that could kill you if you have a cut and that thing goes in (it is this liquid and the scent or something could kill you but rarely I think, I saw it on a documentary). I got bit by a hamster the dwarf hamster then we sold it away because I AM A WUSS AND HATE HOSTILE HAMSTERS then a year later I found out they were territorial and that thing WAS A BITCH! That bite feeling and teeth feeling stayed with me for a long time. Also I WAS TRYING TO PET THAT SON OF A BITCH!!!
