Me too, it's an absolutely beautiful book. I'd like to ask, do you prefer this movie or the newer one with Gary sinise and John Malkovich? Because the new ones good but I think I prefer this one.
_Wow, my dearest Helen! John Steinbeck is Great telling us "Of Mice and Men"...much more yet if whose says it is Lon Chaney Jr. & Burgess Meredith! It's for real a great movie from 76 years ago which worthwhile tô be seen indeed! I hope you enjoy it with us here on CCC movie chat at live! Such a great novel and sensational acting. Poor George and lennie who were dreaming about farm, home, cows, rabbits, horses to have and land to plant but neither of these were come about
Wow, first time seeing this movie. I love this version just as much as the ‘92 film. The actors in each version give such a unique but personal touch to the characters. Love this version of Curley’s wife.
Seeing Lon in a few episodes of Bat Masterson and tombstone territory this shows just how much range he has as an actor. How he didn’t win an award for this performance is a travesty
Another Steinbeck classic, excellent story and well acted.Love the rugged tales around the depression era.People were poor, jobs were scarce and money was hard to come by.When you worked on a farm, you probably stayed there forever in a kind of bondage.Lennie and George never got to realize that dream of their own farm with a house and animals and the freedom to manage their own lives. This will go down as one of my favourite movies. Thanks for screening.❤

As a kid, I watched Bugs Bunny cartoons where they would have some big dumb dog spoofing Lennie. It was very funny. I had no idea that this was from the movie, "Of Mice and Men" until I saw the movie when I was in college. For Steinbeck, for some reason we had to read "Grapes of Wrath" in college instead of "Of Mice and Men". A few years ago, Family Guy did a spoof of the movie. It was pretty funny. I like how they had Stewie as George and Quagmire as Curly which was excellent! Quagmire as Curly: "Stop coming on to my slutty wife!" LOL!
Gremlins 2 spoofed Lenny and George. The gremlin with the buck teeth was Lenny and the one he's always with is named George. Tho George looks like Edward G Robinson

All these years later and this movie is still extremely powerful!
What an excellent movie, heartbreaking, but i Still can't stop watching.
We’ve been reading the book in class and I just found both movies and i’ve become obsessed with the story!

Great old film. I like old movies. I always have but this had such a script. I can watch it over and over and never get tired of it.
So glad I watched this. At 63 years old I can't believe I never saw it before. Thanks so much for putting it up.

Beautiful story with top notch actors 👍🍁
The 90s version with Gary Sinise and John Malkovich is worth checking out
Yes! It is good 👍 😊
That's also a good film, and maybe it's because I'm a bit of a sentimental old sap, but this version brought some tears to my eyes.
No thanks, I don’t need remakes of the Classics.
That version stunk, at the end it had no emotional value, like they just wanted to hurry up and finish the scene.

No matter how many times I see this movie, it always makes me cry. Chaney's best performance of his career. 😢
Meredith too was good. He was good in Rocky as well, when old...
Lennie her zamanki gibi unutsaydı, george un sözüne önem verip hatırlamasaydı belki de george onu öldürmeyecekti
I thoroughly enjoyed this Great Depression era film. 😊
