No matter how many times I see this movie, it always makes me cry. Chaney's best performance of his career. 😢
All these years later and this movie is still extremely powerful!
What an excellent movie, heartbreaking, but i Still can't stop watching.
We’ve been reading the book in class and I just found both movies and i’ve become obsessed with the story!
Me too, it's an absolutely beautiful book. I'd like to ask, do you prefer this movie or the newer one with Gary sinise and John Malkovich? Because the new ones good but I think I prefer this one.
Are the book and this movie the same or is there something different?
Great old film. I like old movies. I always have but this had such a script. I can watch it over and over and never get tired of it.
So glad I watched this. At 63 years old I can't believe I never saw it before. Thanks so much for putting it up.
This is incredible 😢
_Wow, my dearest Helen! John Steinbeck is Great telling us "Of Mice and Men"...much more yet if whose says it is Lon Chaney Jr. & Burgess Meredith! It's for real a great movie from 76 years ago which worthwhile tô be seen indeed! I hope you enjoy it with us here on CCC movie chat at live! God bless you always, my Sweet Lovelly Helen from my heart!_ 🤩🤩🤗🤗❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful story with top notch actors 👍🍁
Seeing Lon in a few episodes of Bat Masterson and tombstone territory this shows just how much range he has as an actor. How he didn’t win an award for this performance is a travesty
Good movies. Some great actors of bygone years. Thanks for sharing.
The 90s version with Gary Sinise and John Malkovich is worth checking out
Yes! It is good 👍 😊
That's also a good film, and maybe it's because I'm a bit of a sentimental old sap, but this version brought some tears to my eyes.
Yeah. Had on video cassette. Studied it at school
No thanks, I don’t need remakes of the Classics.
That version stunk, at the end it had no emotional value, like they just wanted to hurry up and finish the scene.
The music that plays when Candy realises his dog is to be shot is gold
Lennie her zamanki gibi unutsaydı, george un sözüne önem verip hatırlamasaydı belki de george onu öldürmeyecekti
Such a great novel and sensational acting. Poor George and lennie who were dreaming about farm, home, cows, rabbits, horses to have and land to plant but neither of these were come about
Felt sorry for the dog he love d his dog bless
Love this movie!!!!! Got a little excited once the wife figure came along into the movie(winky) Love it !
🌊
I thoroughly enjoyed this Great Depression era film. 😊
Ich habe nun alle drei Versionen angeschaut. Diese hat mir am besten gefallen.👆👆😀😀😀😀 Viele Grüsse aus Germany
This was a good movie. Betty Field did an excellent job acting.
Is betty field Curlys wife
@@michaelmattingley5117Yes!
Talented actress. 20 years later, she played Kim Novak's forlorn mother in Picnic.
@@michaelmattingley5117the only woman in the film
I'm only just got to the part where they're trying to get the old guy to let his dog 🐕 go...the look on his face 😢 i think is the best 👌 acting so far and thats with ole Burgess Meredith in his youth ( Mickey out of the Rocky Films to the layman) and he was Always amazing i think 🤔 so anyway 😊
Holy canoli! The Wolfman 🐺 meets the Penguin 🐧 Wild combination!!! All brought together by literary colossus, John Steinbeck! JS wrote alot of great stuff like East of Eden, My Travels with Charlie (did he write Cannery Row?) and other cool novels I read in high school or reform school (I can't recall). Maybe I just dreamt I read them. 🚬But I digress. 💊This is must see, possible classic film. Check it out! Did I miss Grapes of Wrath? sorry.
Avez vous lu tendre mardi...titre français...je l'ai prêté et on ne me l'a pas rendu

Strong man lennie great film
Wow Betty Fields is a knockout. Beautiful
the english classes did me well with this gem
I cried the entire time
when i read that end i cried a lot
tell me bout the rabbits George 😢
As a kid, I watched Bugs Bunny cartoons where they would have some big dumb dog spoofing Lennie. It was very funny. I had no idea that this was from the movie, "Of Mice and Men" until I saw the movie when I was in college. For Steinbeck, for some reason we had to read "Grapes of Wrath" in college instead of "Of Mice and Men". A few years ago, Family Guy did a spoof of the movie. It was pretty funny. I like how they had Stewie as George and Quagmire as Curly which was excellent! Quagmire as Curly: "Stop coming on to my slutty wife!" LOL!
burgess and lon should have got oscars
Another Steinbeck classic, excellent story and well acted.Love the rugged tales around the depression era.People were poor, jobs were scarce and money was hard to come by.When you worked on a farm, you probably stayed there forever in a kind of bondage.Lennie and George never got to realize that dream of their own farm with a house and animals and the freedom to manage their own lives. This will go down as one of my favourite movies. Thanks for screening.❤
Nothing to be said about this classic. It's all been said.
Solid script, acting and performances all around.
Excellent movie
C'est toujours OK pour moi
Steinbeck...❤❤❤❤❤
please also display the black and white version. Of Mice and Men is one of the best movies ever and the original version is highly respected
Look in the movie bio/description. The link is always added!!!
@@CultCinemaClassics hey thanks i will! that said, "I've always enjoyed looking at colorization and briefly worked on it in the 70s although i have serious reservations about the entire process it is totally ok as an alternative in the appreciation and enhancement of black and white especially because great prints are found and created to make the new version and it certainly is fun to look at!"

To a Mouse
by Robert Burns
On Turning her up in her Nest, with the Plough, November 1785.
Wee, sleeket, cowran, tim’rous beastie,
O, what a panic’s in thy breastie!
Thou need na start awa sae hasty,
Wi’ bickerin brattle!
I wad be laith to rin an’ chase thee
Wi’ murd’ring pattle!
I’m truly sorry Man’s dominion
Has broken Nature’s social union,
An’ justifies that ill opinion,
Which makes thee startle,
At me, thy poor, earth-born companion,
An’ fellow-mortal!
I doubt na, whyles, but thou may thieve;
What then? poor beastie, thou maun live!
A daimen-icker in a thrave
’S a sma’ request:
I’ll get a blessin wi’ the lave,
An’ never miss ’t!
Thy wee-bit housie, too, in ruin!
It’s silly wa’s the win’s are strewin!
An’ naething, now, to big a new ane,
O’ foggage green!
An’ bleak December’s winds ensuin,
Baith snell an’ keen!
Thou saw the fields laid bare an’ waste,
An’ weary Winter comin fast,
An’ cozie here, beneath the blast,
Thou thought to dwell,
Till crash! the cruel coulter past
Out thro’ thy cell.
That wee-bit heap o’ leaves an’ stibble
Has cost thee monie a weary nibble!
Now thou’s turn’d out, for a’ thy trouble,
But house or hald,
To thole the Winter’s sleety dribble,
An’ cranreuch cauld!
But Mousie, thou art no thy-lane,
In proving foresight may be vain:
★The best laid schemes o’ Mice an’ Men
Gang aft agley,
An’ lea’e us nought but grief an’ pain,
For promis’d joy!
Still, thou art blest, compar’d wi’ me!
The present only toucheth thee:
But Och! I backward cast my e’e,
On prospects drear!
An’ forward tho’ I canna see,
I guess an’ fear!
Lennie was Mic’s original Rocky😂
You mean Rocky balboner ?
I remember the Rocky doll you could stomp on it punch it , go bathroom on it

Any colorization that cannot hold stable tints through a single scene should NOT be attempted... and that's what you're always going to see in the titles from Cult Cinema. I'm fully supportive of colorization as a concept, but not when it produces bargain-basement work like this.
Whiner
Ooh - hoity toity. This is a valiant attempt at colourisation, and clicking away from the film is always an option.

Filme ruim, com erros de interpretação nas legendas em português, e propaganda a toda hora. Um saco!
very bad screenplay, worst acting than the other on that was made in 1992.
sensational movie, the wife got me a bit excited, i busted all over screen. there goes the next generation down the drain🤤🧙♂
Well said, old mate!! Couldn't agree more
