- Hi, In this video I discussed what is DPF ( Diesel Particulate Filter) , Why DPF use is very Important in latest BS6 Diesel Engines, and How it creates so many problems. The complete working is described in this video I also discussed about the regeneration process of DPF.
DPF is required in any BS6 Diesel Engine to reduce the Particulate Matter Productuon, in BS 4 the range was upto 25 mg/km but now it reduced to 4.5 mg/km

This is true i own Xuv 300 BS6 and 1.5 year old during this period I've faced 2 times DPF CLOGGED but thanx to Mahindra that they have made parking regeneration method where you don't have to run your car on highways between 60-70 kmph for 30 minutes you can just park your car and put it on Auto regeneration mode. The car will it self rev the engine on 2000 rpm for almost 30 minutes and the DPF light will be disappeared.
Notes .: This problem will for sure arise when you will be on high altitude places e.g mountains. Because the Oxygen level is very low there and diesel engine requires lots of oxygens.

My Tata bs6 is facing problem already on very day of delivery.
It's speed sensor is malfunctioning n no pickup
Same with me after 4000 km XUV 500...

Actually ad per study, the diesel Lubrication reduced after the bs6 refinement, and if this is a case then there can be a issue, but still now practically i can't say how much it is impactful.

BS6 standard fuel will work for it. Also if the car is driven regularly at 60-70 kmph for 20-30 minutes, this problem won't come.

I am facing the same situation with my new xuv 500, service centre buggers say you shouldn't drive more in cities, what the hell.
Not a big deal ....Their is a simple process of regeneration u can do by ur own provided in your manual or can take help from youtube n it's done!
Active regeneration not available for every model. Mine dec 2021 altroz. Active Regeneration given from 2022 models.

Same problem with my XUV 500 , got fed up with this DPF signal , couldn't understand what to do, no my xuv 500 stalled in the service centre paste days sayo g that they have to replace the entire system, i just drove 30000km till now, pathetic on the part of Mahindra
