You rock, sir. Thanks for the video. I decided on uninstalling the faucet but my wife suggested UA-cam and that’s how I found this video. Worked like a charm.
Worked like a charm!!! I called Koehler and they wanted to send a plumber out to ‘change’ the filter, what a joke. Now I have water that flows, not drips…. Thank you!
OMFG!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!! After 4 hrs cleaning the lines, aerator, switching back and forth I was ready to rip this faucet out and return it to Costco. I was pissed bc this was a brand new faucet! After I took out the restrictor, worked like a charm. Thank you sir!
Thank you soooooooooo much! I was ready to throw a grenade in my kitchen after 6 months of literally trickling water. My husband tried everything…keys to take off aerator etc. THANK YOU THANK YOU. We can fill a glass of water in less than 4 minutes now (no joke)
Thank you Elliot - Sink water pressure has slowly been diminishing last couple months. I cleaned the head-aerator but still no good. I saw that quick connect earlier, but was like, "that connector cant be slowing down my pressure" :) Well, I removed it and indeed it was severely clogged. A little different model for me, I "gently" had to drill out the filter guts because hammering on that connector is not wise:) Water pressure returned at over 100%!!!!!! Thank you so much for posting your experience!
DUDE! You are the man! I am so grateful for kind people like you who take the time to post incredibly helpful tips like this. I had no problem punching out the restrictor from the housing on a unit I bought from Costco yesterday (9/12/2024) in Florida. Maybe the ones sold in California are not so easy to remove? Who knows?
You're welcome, i appreciate the kind comment. I think this is the best kind of information to share on UA-cam! It makes me happy when i know it's helped!😊
This is the first ever comment on UA-cam and had to say Thank you! I haven't had this for 2 weeks and the water pressure was crap. I left the blue restrictor on only because of the hard water and how bad the debris gets, the water pressure still works great.
Just a heads up that it appears as if Kohler changed the design and this part will not pop out (at least not on the one I ordered on 6/19/2024). I poked and prodded at it as much as I dared without causing damage, but it didn't budge. Fortunately, I have really good pressure and it's not an issue.
The black quick disconnect screws off in two pieces, if yours isn’t coming off, hold the top part where the blue disconnect is, and put a small wrench on the bottom part and the bottom 1/4th will screw off. Then you will be able to pop it out
Okay, I revisited this and was finally able to get the flow restrictor out -- it was just in there tight. As I said, I had good pressure anyway, but it does appear a little stronger now and I don't have to worry about the eventual clogged restrictor.
Your water pressure must suck. Just put ours on a few seconds ago and it works great. I made sure to flush it first. The stream after the fix in your video is super weak. Are you sure the aerator is not clogged or that your valve is restricted?
@@lorihawkins3895 my first thought is just be certain everything is unscrewed properly or otherwise unassembled as much as it can be and try gently from both directions. Mine was quite easy to remove as they were just held in by small gasket rings. Without putting my own hands on it I can't be certain what the issue is. Good luck!
@@Mr299X I appreciate your reply. I believe the manufacturers are privy to people popping out the water restriction devices so they made them more difficult to remove. We just bought our faucet from Costco so possibly the the newest version is different. Good ole California! 😤
@@lorihawkins3895 that could be the case. 😐 My friends in the construction business have told me this thing is very much a product of California. 🙄😜 Sorry it's not working for you, it's pretty aggravating.
Make sure to unscrew the exit side first. There’s like a short extension that holds that valve in place. Unscrew it with your hand on the black side before you jam the screw driver into the blue side.
The black disconnect screws off on the bottom 1/4, opposite of the blue disconnect. Hold the top blue part and put a wrench on the bottom notches for a wrench and it’ll come apart so you can remove the restrictor.
It’s funny when you paid a fortune for expensive faucets, you’d get a slower, more restricted pipeline. You’d think you get a fresh, powerful jetstream to clean all your dishes after spending that much, but nooooo

You saved me with this video. Thank you!
Spectacular my good man!!! Seriously this video solved the problem after taking apart the faucet, purging lines etc etc...
Thank you
After 3 hours I give up and start looking on youtube , I got it fix in 10 min after watching ur video thank you

I did the same thing and the flow is great now! Thanks to you too
Happy it's helping people!
You sir helped me fix my problem! Thankyou so much! Stupid part was restricting the flow
So happy it helped!
Thanks so much! This did the trick and the flow and pressure are good now. 👍

Perfect fix. Thank you for sharing!

Mine wont come out. Its is new out of the box. So different apparently.
Oh never mind I didn't realize the black stem piece comes apart so I did get them out

I suppose if it becomes a problem, you'll know which part to cut out. 😜
I have a brand new one from Costco and it worked just like the video.
I just purchased this model (Sept 12, 2024) and this genius and incredible fix as seen in this video worked well. Thanks OP!

@@vagandoeverywhere yes water pressure in this town is horrible. Most people end up installing booster pumps. 🤷♂️
@@Mr299X ah, that makes sense. It must be a design issue based on a certain water pressure.
