DUDE! You are the man! I am so grateful for kind people like you who take the time to post incredibly helpful tips like this. I had no problem punching out the restrictor from the housing on a unit I bought from Costco yesterday (9/12/2024) in Florida. Maybe the ones sold in California are not so easy to remove? Who knows?
You're welcome, i appreciate the kind comment. I think this is the best kind of information to share on UA-cam! It makes me happy when i know it's helped!😊
It’s funny when you paid a fortune for expensive faucets, you’d get a slower, more restricted pipeline. You’d think you get a fresh, powerful jetstream to clean all your dishes after spending that much, but nooooo
Your water pressure must suck. Just put ours on a few seconds ago and it works great. I made sure to flush it first. The stream after the fix in your video is super weak. Are you sure the aerator is not clogged or that your valve is restricted?
Just a heads up that it appears as if Kohler changed the design and this part will not pop out (at least not on the one I ordered on 6/19/2024). I poked and prodded at it as much as I dared without causing damage, but it didn't budge. Fortunately, I have really good pressure and it's not an issue.
OMFG!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!! After 4 hrs cleaning the lines, aerator, switching back and forth I was ready to rip this faucet out and return it to Costco. I was pissed bc this was a brand new faucet! After I took out the restrictor, worked like a charm. Thank you sir!
This is the first ever comment on UA-cam and had to say Thank you! I haven't had this for 2 weeks and the water pressure was crap. I left the blue restrictor on only because of the hard water and how bad the debris gets, the water pressure still works great.
@@lorihawkins3895 my first thought is just be certain everything is unscrewed properly or otherwise unassembled as much as it can be and try gently from both directions. Mine was quite easy to remove as they were just held in by small gasket rings. Without putting my own hands on it I can't be certain what the issue is. Good luck!
@@Mr299X I appreciate your reply. I believe the manufacturers are privy to people popping out the water restriction devices so they made them more difficult to remove. We just bought our faucet from Costco so possibly the the newest version is different. Good ole California! 😤
@@lorihawkins3895 that could be the case. 😐 My friends in the construction business have told me this thing is very much a product of California. 🙄😜 Sorry it's not working for you, it's pretty aggravating.
Make sure to unscrew the exit side first. There’s like a short extension that holds that valve in place. Unscrew it with your hand on the black side before you jam the screw driver into the blue side.

@@vagandoeverywhereportodosl3780 yes water pressure in this town is horrible. Most people end up installing booster pumps. 🤷♂️
@@Mr299X ah, that makes sense. It must be a design issue based on a certain water pressure.
Thank you so much!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@Clyde-g8i you're very welcome. 👌😀
Thank you! It took me less than 10 minutes to fix it.
Amazing video. Thank you for the info.
Glad it was helpful!

I suppose if it becomes a problem, you'll know which part to cut out. 😜
I have a brand new one from Costco and it worked just like the video.
I just purchased this model (Sept 12, 2024) and this genius and incredible fix as seen in this video worked well. Thanks OP!

I had hoped this would help someone, stoked it is!
Thanks so much! This did the trick and the flow and pressure are good now. 👍
@@JeffMays glad to hear!
You sir helped me fix my problem! Thankyou so much! Stupid part was restricting the flow
So happy it helped!

I did the same thing and the flow is great now! Thanks to you too
Happy it's helping people!
The inside doesn’t just pop out. I can’t get mine to budge. Any ideas?
