I wish to tell a story. It was January 1999, the first birthday without my dad, whom had passed away the year prior on September, the month of Spyro's release. My mom had gotten me a PS1, cause I really wanted one, and with it three games; Buggy, A Bugs Life Activity Center and Spyro the Dragon. I absolutely fell in love with Spyro and it was the game I played the most, even if I was afraid of doing the boss fights and couldn't quite manage to get through the speedways. Spyro helped me through an emotionally difficult time and even helped me improve my poor motor skills and hand eye co'ordination. Me and my mom even bonded over Spyro, it's perhaps the only game we can talk about where she knows what the heck I'm talking about. I've played every main console Spyro game since then, even played the first Skylanders game but I didn't buy any skylander game beyond that cause, to me, it didn't feel like a Spyro game. No hate for Skylanders :) If people enjoy them, then that's perfect!! They were good games, but simply not for me. When the very first trailer for the Reignited Trilogy dropped, I got rather emotional and cried tears of joy. My sweet purple dragon Spyro was coming back in all it's glory and more. I even showed my mom the trailer and she was happy, said she'd buy the games for me: "For old times sake." Now I follow the official Spyro twitter and keep an eye out for videos by two youtubers for their coverage. And the more I see of it, the less I can wait for September. I'm super excited for the Reignited trilogy and I'm sure that once I pop it in and that familiar theme comes out of my t.v, I'll most likely become very emotional once again and cry for a minute or two. That's how much Spyro means to me :) So I wish to thank Insomniac, for giving me the best childhood I could ever ask for, despite the loss of my father. And I wish to thank ToysforBob for giving me the chance to relieve those joyous parts of my childhood, playing Spyro for the first time, once again. I am sure you will do a great job and that the games will come out fantastic, for you listen to the fans and know exactly what we wish for without neglecting your own creative freedom. Beautiful story! Also, why do I feel like we are almost exactly alike in this topic. At a highly young age in the late 90's to early 2000's, my family had 4 game consoles to play: Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, and of course, a PlayStation! We didn't have the first Spyro game back then, but we had Spyro 2 and Year of the Dragon and I remember playing the hell out of those games! Loved them so much! While my mother and I didn't bond over Spyro, she did tell me that Spyro and the Sims were her favorite video games! She knows about Spyro's return and I look forward to the day I can play all 3 games with her in those precious, scaled-up, visuals... pure eye candy right there! I haven't played every Spyro game that came before the Reignited Trilogy, but I have played plenty, like Enter the Dragonfly, Season of Flame, Spyro Orange, A Hero's Tail, and the entire Legend of Spyro trilogy (except for Dawn of the Dragon). Like you, I didn't pour much time into the Skylanders games. They were alright, however I dropped the series after finishing Swap Force, because I felt that aside from the new characters, every installment felt like the same game with a slight twist. As for the father part... well... it hurts. I'm pretty sure you were able to play the Reignited Trilogy by the time I finished this comment. I hope you enjoyed the game. He also influenced some of the best drummers of today. Taylor Hawkins, Josh Freese, Ilan Rubin from Nine Inch Nails. Every drummer learned by imitating Stewart Copeland.
I'm glad Copeland acknowledged the amazing musical job. It's like everything coming full circle. The Reignited music *is* really good, sure the originals fill me with nostalgia, but you gotta acknowledge the really good things they did with the music, the sound design in general. And most of the comments I see are like "yeah I'm just gonna play with Copeland's music, I don't like the new one" which is fair enough but honestly, I was wondering how Vankov felt. Seeing Copeland praise the remastering efforts feels so satisfying. I think I will play the three games with the remastered music first, then the original. PS: I still prefer Copeland's music by a mile. But I like the new version enough to give it a try at least during one playthrough.

As much as I think they never should have wasted the time and money on reinventing the wheel, there is no need to tar, feather and publicly shame Vankov, even if many feel in their hearts his music genuinely pales in comparison. Copland is a class act throwing him a bone and the music options added in were a masterstroke to satisfy both sides of the great divide.
Clay Franklin if you dont give the new stuff a chance while you're playing then whats the point? the music is just as much a remake as the graphics and with a fuller frequency range, im sure the new music will fit snuggly with the new look really well. if you're just gonna play with the original, may as well just play the original ya know
I like the updated graphics, but in many ways music is timeless. Spyro is one of the first games I ever played, and the music brings back memories of people and places long gone. From all the data points i've heard of the new music, it simply doesn't compare on an aesthetic level to the originals (particularly the lack of bass, percussion, and exotic instruments).You may be right that the sound quality is better for the new music given it's more modern, yet I think the actual composition from Copland is second to none. I do think the graphics in the new game are promising though, so thats really the reason I'm signed up for this ride.

That's the exact same way Insomniac approached all the other elements of the games as well, working around hardware constraints, and it's why the original games are more streamlined and focused than Reignited. (Not knocking Reignited; I'm sure it will be a pretty good experience, too.)

I’m so glad to see my childhood come back to life with this new trilogy that i can’t wait to get my hands on

This made my year! I'm super glad that Stewart Copeland is back and also took the time to help Stephan Vankov compose the remastered tracks. I love the choice where you could toggle between the original or reignited musical track versions: you get a two for one package! It's such a treat to see gaming companies like Toys for Bob collaborating with Insomniac Games. It's amazing how they are doing this right for Spyro's twentieth year anniversary! Cheers, wahoo! :D

I'm 23. My nephew was over last Wednesday and he wanted to play games. I had very little games that a 5 year old could play, but among them were the original Spyro trilogy (PS3 port). He wound up getting the Bentley Boxing skill point when I hadn't been able to with a week of trying LOL.
To all of the people involved in the Spyro: Reignited Trilogy, I just have to say thank you for all of the hard work that you have put into this remake/remaster. As a reward for your efforts, I have pre-ordered a copy of the Xbox One version of Spyro: Reignited Trilogy.
I love Tom Kenny so much :D I'm so glad Toys For Bob brought him back for this, he's voiced two of my favourite childhood characters Spyro and Spongebob

I almost cried several times watching this, and that orchestral piece from Copeland is going to have me sobbing when I hear the full version. I love everybody on this panel. My eyes are getting all misty from this whole thing. I'm especially touched by how happy Stewart(and everyone else of course!) seems to be here. Seriously, what a perfect storm of incredible talent, all coming together in support of the remaster of one of the most formative games of my life. The love for my little purple dragon is just pouring out of everyone here, and I couldn't be happier for Reignited to finally hit.
Corvo@AZ no, we are getting all three... We're just not getting them all on the same disc, or on multiple discs in the case. Unfortunately. Not sure why, because I don't think it's a matter of not having disc space. Then again, who knows.
Corvo@AZ right? I guess I'm grateful that they don't cost extra, but that's not exactly convenient. I'm thinking they're still working on the games. So my theory is that the first game has been printed out or will be soon, and the others are being polished as much as possible in the time they have left.
OMS this is amazing. Loving the updated theme, everything I've seen has been pure perfection. I'm still hoping there's an option to turn voices and sounds off during cutscenes as the cutscenes had some of my favourite music and I was always gutted I could never have the music from the cutscenes.
Thank you for uploading the video :) We are so excited to play Spyro again :) I am so pleased how much effort you put into the game. The only thing I have a small problem with (extremely small minor detail) is the sound of the monks in Collosus. I know it's a stupid minor detail but I will always make that sounds as in the original because I always thought it's awesome. But that's it that's the only thing I have a small personal problem with :D not that you would change it badly it's just me loving the original sound choice so much :) keep on going, we love your work :)
Toys For Bob, with the help of Insomniac Games are doing the most complete "Remastered" version of a classic PS1 game. So we are going to play maybe the best "Remastered game" of this Generation!

Sir Isaac Toys For Bob played the old Spyro games for inspiration in kickstarting Skylanders. With that, they did research and became familiar with the Spyro franchise in some way.
Spyro the Dragon is like my Spirit Animal. I grew up with Spyro, and i'm sure everyone else here did as well. He holds a place so so close to my heart, love him so much, love the entire development team of Spyro too, and all people who love Spyro like I do, I love you too.

I hope Stewart Copeland's decide to release the Spyro music on CD sometime. I got a compilation of him with the track Jacques from the original Spyro on it. But the name is not Jacques but Rain.
I'll definitely give the remixed music a go on every level in the game, but from what I heard in the Hurracos comparison Stewart's version has more going on with the drums, and guitar doing its own thing to the rest. The remix seems very "by the book" and doesn't want to open up to more instruments than it has to. I also hear how this is true for Stewart's new menu theme. It goes bonkers towards the end without ruining anything. That's what I hope to hear in the remastered tracks throughout the game.
I miss Spyro the Year of the Dragon and Spyro the Darogn I haven't really finished those two games yet but the third one Spyro riptos rage!! no. and i really dont think they will... i was very ansious to play this game, but now i am no more .Ill just stay with my old games, there are many that are still sealed, and my next game will be darksiders 3 in november. I never imagined a game released 2 months prior to the other would be harmed by ds3 haha... sad. Man and i love spyro, i really see this boycott as the only option for them to show some respect to the people who support them. They are not selling this to new comers, they are selling to us, nostalgic gamers, and thats it. If they dont respect their old fans, they will fail, just like disney is failing with star wars.
My childhood returns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to play this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure if this has been brought up, but am I the only one who loved when the propellers would fly off from those chests you have to flame three times, and they would sometimes hit enemies nearby? I would love if they brought that back. Overall, this game looks amazing!
Does anyone know if they will have an option to play with the D pad and not the analog stick? I loved this game so much that on days I was sick as a kid I could beat the entire first game with no deaths and everything collected within a couple hours.

I'm 23. My nephew was over last Wednesday and he wanted to play games. I had very little games that a 5 year old could play, but among them were the original Spyro trilogy (PS3 port). He wound up getting the Bentley Boxing skill point when I hadn't been able to with a week of trying LOL.

I almost cried several times watching this, and that orchestral piece from Copeland is going to have me sobbing when I hear the full version. I love everybody on this panel. My eyes are getting all misty from this whole thing. I'm especially touched by how happy Stewart(and everyone else of course!) seems to be here. Seriously, what a perfect storm of incredible talent, all coming together in support of the remaster of one of the most formative games of my life. The love for my little purple dragon is just pouring out of everyone here, and I couldn't be happier for Reignited to finally hit.

Corvo@AZ no, we are getting all three... We're just not getting them all on the same disc, or on multiple discs in the case. Unfortunately. Not sure why, because I don't think it's a matter of not having disc space. Then again, who knows.
Corvo@AZ right? I guess I'm grateful that they don't cost extra, but that's not exactly convenient. I'm thinking they're still working on the games. So my theory is that the first game has been printed out or will be soon, and the others are being polished as much as possible in the time they have left.

OMS this is amazing. Loving the updated theme, everything I've seen has been pure perfection. I'm still hoping there's an option to turn voices and sounds off during cutscenes as the cutscenes had some of my favourite music and I was always gutted I could never have the music from the cutscenes.

The only thing I have a small problem with (extremely small minor detail) is the sound of the monks in Collosus. I know it's a stupid minor detail but I will always make that sounds as in the original because I always thought it's awesome. But that's it that's the only thing I have a small personal problem with :D not that you would change it badly it's just me loving the original sound choice so much :) keep on going, we love your work :)
Toys For Bob, with the help of Insomniac Games are doing the most complete "Remastered" version of a classic PS1 game. So we are going to play maybe the best "Remastered game" of this Generation!

Sir Isaac Toys For Bob played the old Spyro games for inspiration in kickstarting Skylanders. With that, they did research and became familiar with the Spyro franchise in some way.

Spyro the Dragon is like my Spirit Animal. I grew up with Spyro, and i'm sure everyone else here did as well. He holds a place so so close to my heart, love him so much, love the entire development team of Spyro too, and all people who love Spyro like I do, I love you too.

I'll definitely give the remixed music a go on every level in the game, but from what I heard in the Hurracos comparison Stewart's version has more going on with the drums, and guitar doing its own thing to the rest. The remix seems very "by the book" and doesn't want to open up to more instruments than it has to. I also hear how this is true for Stewart's new menu theme. It goes bonkers towards the end without ruining anything. That's what I hope to hear in the remastered tracks throughout the game.

no. and i really dont think they will... i was very ansious to play this game, but now i am no more .Ill just stay with my old games, there are many that are still sealed, and my next game will be darksiders 3 in november. I never imagined a game released 2 months prior to the other would be harmed by ds3 haha... sad. Man and i love spyro, i really see this boycott as the only option for them to show some respect to the people who support them. They are not selling this to new comers, they are selling to us, nostalgic gamers, and thats it. If they dont respect their old fans, they will fail, just like disney is failing with star wars.

My childhood returns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to play this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure if this has been brought up, but am I the only one who loved when the propellers would fly off from those chests you have to flame three times, and they would sometimes hit enemies nearby? I would love if they brought that back. Overall, this game looks amazing!

Does anyone know if they will have an option to play with the D pad and not the analog stick? I loved this game so much that on days I was sick as a kid I could beat the entire first game with no deaths and everything collected within a couple hours.
