Very good job! 6 years is a long time, I just wanted to thank you for making this video I'v been trying to get a signal line out on a gopro 960 @#$% it wont work. walmart still sells the flypro with the transmitter cable and plug for the camera. I would not known with out you. thanks!

That cable just came with that vtx? Only after weeks of searching, was i able to find one and its just goes from the gopro (micro hdmi?) To vtx, a 4 wire locking connector that fits a vtx similar to yours

3D Printwiz whats your ground station look like ? , mine is a 5.8ghz video receiver mounted on my 2 story home ( 50 feet ), I run the AV to my big screen tv on the second floor , and fly my quadcopter outside , video is great and so is my flysky i6s transmitter from inside i can still go hundreds of meters with the different micro flysky receivers and rarely get failsafe , im into long range but I can’t afford crossfire I am building a brushed 100mm 2s with 8520 motors and much bigger ia6b or x6b receivers with 500mw vtx , I should have solid connection for quite some range I like flying from inside my house it’s comfy
what is the range of the FPV?
5 feet to 15 miles, depending on your budget. If it's range you're after (and not freestyle flying), buy a DJI product. Anything analog with a comparable range will cost you 10x what comes standard in a DJI. If aerial photography is your thing just buy a Mavic Mini. Here in the future (July 2022) you can buy a barely used Mavic Mini 1 (with batteries and controller) for around $200-250. A decent FPV receiver (controller) costs that by itself without even spending a dime on the drone, camera, batteries, and everything else.
Can't you solder the video transmitter to the 5V in your flight controller, just like you would a regular fpv camera?

I saw something similar to what this was the other day on bang good or gear best (one of the two) and I wasn't so sure about it. the fast that it needs an external battery though seems like a huge let down though.
Yeah I know, kinda sucks! You can get something like this: goo.gl/kFm05O , and I don't think that needs an external battery, but I'm not sure.

Is it possible use digital zoom while flying?
If you link your GoPro to the phone app you can change settings during the flight if you're within wifi range and have 4 hands. Not possible to change via FC UART.
