By claiming he was in combat, he was claiming he qualified and probably received the Combat Action Badge, which by itself is a violation. Wearing a Special Forces crest on his cap is another violation. Claiming he had retired at a rank he didn't have at his retirement is another violation. Morally, he committed stolen valor on other counts. He's a selfish, hypocritical, lying coward.
It's worse than you say. Walz didn't say he carried a weapon of war "during" war; he said he carried a weapon of war "in" war, claiming he was actually in combat in a war. As a congressman, he voted for the Stolen Valor Act of 2013.

Generations back my ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War, born to German immigrants who were forced to flee the Roman Palatine. My father served in the Army, 82nd Airborne, Korean War. He served 26 years as a police officer and received the Medal of Valor. I take a stand here. Let's see Tim Walz jump out of a plane into enemy territory, and defend his injured partner while being shot at from a barricade then carry him to safety and then pray to God and give thanks for our amazing country. God bless the USA. I am forever thankful for the courage and service of our honorable officers and servicemen and women.
My favorite uncle, Rudolph McAllister, fought at Omaha Beach on D-Day. An uncle by marriage to my aunt, Everett Langston, was a medic on Pork Chop Hill in Korea. I served in Task Force 117, Mobile Riverine Force, Mekong Delta; though I still feel guilty about not serving on the small boats. I volunteered for it but instead was stationed on the USS Nueces (APB-40), a barracks ship the small boats tied up to for the night. My anger at the selfish, lying coward Tim Walz makes me feel better about my service.

My husband was a Viet Nam Vet. He died from Agent Orange and he went through Hell over there then died a horrible death. This story makes me sick. My husband was a true hero who served his country. This man needs to be called out for Stolen Valor. Thank You for doing this story!

My husband served in the Navy . He joined right out of high school . Just before the Viet Nam war was over . He DID NOT take the ribbon for serving during that time ,, I ask him way ??? He said , he didnt feel like he really deserved it or earned it . He served active for 9 yrs and 1 year in the reserved . And during desert storm he got Several letters from The Dept of the Navy checking on his statis . We also have his Dads Bronze Star from serving in WWII with MacArther . Waltz needs to stop his BULL SHIT !!
I also am a veteran (US Army 1984-1991). If your husband served on any US Naval vessel that took part in support operations for at least one day within the territorial waters of Vietnam during the war any time before 28 March 1973, he is entitled to wear the Vietnam Service medal. If he served anywhere in the same area in direct support of that war, for 30 consecutive days or more, he is also entitled to wear the Vietnam Campaign medal. If he wore the "blue tuxedo" (another name for the uniforms of the Navy and the Air Force), he should not shy away from any medals he is qualified for.
You mention his service (?) during Desert Storm; I did one six month tour during that war. If his vessel was deployed to that theater during that war, there are three medals he is probably qualified to wear: Southwest Asia Service medal, the Liberation of Kuwait Service medal (Kuwait), and the Liberation of Kuwait Service medal (Saudi Arabia). He probably also is entitled to the National Defense Service medal.
If he served honorably, and qualifies, he should wear any medals he qualifies for.
He's a coward and a traitor.

He's an extremely talented artist with a beautiful voice, mad songwriting skills and he's a great producer, he has wonderful people skills and it makes his interviews so interesting. He's incredibly intelligent too!

I lost an uncle who was 20 years old in the Korean war. He sacrificed his life to save his batallion. I have marines in my family and I am married to a Vietnam era Navy man who is proud of his service. It is a fact that there is very little respect for the National Guard and I find it repulsive how you deserted your unit. You are clearly a liar on many levels so you should fit in with Kamala.

Tim Walz was "Frocked" to the rank of CSM. This is an action the military does when someone is appointed to a position and need the rank to do the job. It is not an official promotion till you meet all the requirement for the promotion. You are paid as a E-8 not as an E-9

The GOV Walz Story is sad. It reminds me of my father who was trained, had the Time of Service, but needed another year in Sea Duty. My mother had terrible birth and my little sister died in the CRIB. My father was a MASTER CHIEF but he needed to retire to take care not to move my mother to San Diego. When I returned from MY TOUR of Duty I discussed his bravery and how I felt he was short changed. He told me about a friend named BOB Feller who explained that even though they SHOT down over 70 KAMIKAZE's they were only CREDITED for 26 by the US Navy. That is the record of the US Navy. At 26 years of service my father had to retire as a E-8 Senior Chief. I told my dad that in HONOR of his helping to take the Saipan, Tinian and GUAM i did a swim with the UDT's and Marines in 1976 3 miles from Saipan to Tinian. He laughed and said that it was foolish. Better to take the DUCK over next time. Please VETERANS please HONOR each other and DO NOT attack each other. IF a veteran has an issue then the hurt is only worse and that Truly is what our enemies like RED CHINA want.

FIRST: He lied about his rank when he retired. He stated on his governorship website that he retired as a Command Sergeant Major, which is false. He retired as a Master Sergeant. That’s my beef with him. SECOND: He knew they were going to be deployed overseas and he retired out (as a Master Sergeant) before the unit deployed. My late husband VOLUNTEERED to go on a special team to train Iraqi Army and a second time to train the Iraqi National Police. Walz doesn’t hold a candle to my late husband.

Am I missing something here? Has John Rich ever served a day in the military? Last I knew he was a supporter of John McCain when he was running for president. He even released a campaign song on his website in support of presidential candidate John McCain in August 2008 called "Raisin' McCain." Then it was Trump. Seems strange since we all know what Trump thinks about McCain and his time as a POW. Maybe Rich should stick to the music business. I'm a retired US Navy (20 years) veteran. When a person puts in for retirement after 24 years of service, they are not "quitters" and the unit is not left "high and dry". That billet becomes available to be filled.
I'm seeing a lot of complaints that he didn't extend his service beyond 24 years. Only about 20% of military stay in long enough to retire. Does that mean that 80% are cowards for fulfilling their duties and ending their service? No!!! Whether it's 4 years or 24 years, it is service to this nation. Not everyone has the "nads" to make the sacrifice.
