I understand how you feel, but both versions have a different focus audience, and approach. It's good that you like the old version, but being born barely over two decades ago, I am more drawn to the newer version than the old version. Both are beautiful and special in their own ways. This version of the song has carried me through a tough year so far. Be blessed.
I get that the Not Ashamed version is a little dated, but this version completely looses the feel and continuity that John James had captured. This version is too busy and moves too much to capture the emotion that drove the original. Too bad Newsboys are more about a show now than actually making good music.
