Indeed he’s often played in the 4 like a melee assassin. As a bruiser he’s not as tanky as an Artanis or leoric but his sustain is crazy especially with ancestral wrath at 7
@@guid0_98 I guess but if you are basing it off of sustain then Quira has absolutely stupid levels of healing if she gets her procs off, she is also way more mobile than Thrall and has about the same potential level of CC, all while being declared a melee assassin
Actually, Thrall used to be a melee assassin before Blizzard has added the bruiser role in 2018. Malthael, Xul, Gazlowe and Ragnaros were melee assassins too.
@@soak_king I know, I'm saying he should STILL be considered a melee assassin. He doesn't have push gimmicks like Gaz or Xul, and Rag..... I just don't know about Rag. Thrall definitely feels squishier than a rag
@@marshmellowbit3 well, Rag only got 9% more hp than Thrall. But Thrall has much more burst healing. So, if Thrall is allowed to press all his buttons, he can tank way more damage than Rag.
Thank you for the gift of Thrall! His E-build is my all-time favourite HotS build, even though the quest starts super late. Mana Tide at 4 slaps hard: not only does it give you Mana, but the CDR translates to a big boost in damage and self-heal. Lvl 1 Echo of the Elements helps kill those pesky low health Junkrats and feeds your Mana Tide even harder in Teamfights, so too does Earthquake. The only choice for me is at lvl 20: blink for (dis-)engage/damage or Earthquake shield for more team survivability. I know you're not a fan of E-build, but the synergy is incredible. But I agree that you cannot play it to full effect against all teams.
Epic match and 10/10 for tutorial/gameplay vid, extra points for the best explanations of a champ I've seen. It almost makes me want to play this game again lol.
@@ThingWub oh I never gave it up for more than a minute, hots is a bad habbit that I can't seem to break. I just give it a rest after one too many qm's where the outcome is decided by the algorithm. (not teamcomp, but a group of diamonds or somethen)
Glad you enjoyed! I already have a How To Tank series out, I am just about done with the How To Bruise series, and I am going to be starting a How To Heal series right after this one!
It took me ages to get used to Thrall, as he does insane damage and can keep his hp high.. but I kept over committing with him until I get the hang of him. Also great video Wub
I could even tell you how many times I (and many other players better than me) have died by over committing. As long as you learn from every mistake, you will get the feel for any hero you want to master!
C'mon, E build might not be optimal but it is certainly viable in the right circumstances. If you are solo laning against an Artanis or Ragnaros that wants to stay in your melee range most of the time, for example, or if the enemy team is mostly melee, you can stack it rather quickly.
Hey Wub, why do you place Samuro into damage&waveclear category, if he got zero waveclear until lvl 7 and 10? You said many times that your list is based on the early game capabilities of hero.
Fun fact, I started making this. I am having trouble making it feel fun and engaging though. I'm not sure if it will ever be finished or if I will give up on it. Only time will tell
thanks for telling us what the talents do during the game, even if it’s just 1-2 sentences! That was my biggest thing with your previous videos that i disliked.
"Sickening to the soul" aint that just the mood for every bad QM comp
It truly is haha
Honestly, Thrall should still be considered a melee assassin. He feels way more squishy than any other bruiser in the game

I'll have to give E build another look. Just because something looks weak on paper doesn't mean it is

Really glad you enjoyed!! Also if you haven't yet, give HotS another try!

W-Blink is such cool thing
No one ever expects the fast, raging orc to just blink all over your face haha
nice to understand the reason for the skin choices, neat!
Thanks. A super cool subscriber gave me the idea!!
that was super entertaining and educational!!!

Best hots series I’ve seen. Thank you
Yeah, just weird to have an entire series dedicated to hating Junkrat :p
This one is going into the comment hall of fame haha
Really glad you enjoy the series!
I have been waiting for this a long time now
FOR THE HORDE

If you need more damage, then Follow Through is much stronger talent than E quest.
A couple of people had said something similar to this. Maybe I'll make a video about it and be proved wrong!
Hey Wub, why do you place Samuro into damage&waveclear category, if he got zero waveclear until lvl 7 and 10? You said many times that your list is based on the early game capabilities of hero.
Can you make a Tier List Video of all the Heroic Abilities?

Also came from warcraft 3. I thought he'd be like a farseer, not a bruiser in HOTS.
Rehgar takes the place of farseer. They're both shamans
Yeah, I was confused when I saw how different he plays in HotS compared to WC3. Still super fun in both games though, so I'm happy
Yesss been waiting for thrall
He is one of my favorite heroes in the game simply for his backstory and character development!
Mana Tide is way better in my opinion because it gives Thrall consistent mana regen that doesn't rely on survivability.
lmao "thats a rounding error"
I still stand by this haha
dude 11:07 was a sick outplay sylv :D
Any outplay on an Overwatch hero feels just that much better haha!

I have tried to do a better job of mentioning it in my newer content. Happy it helps!
