Good to see a review actually reviewing this car ‘as a car’ and not comparing it to the F20. I agree with your comments, as an all round package, this car is better!
This sounds like, dare I say it a grown up review of this car. If the enthusiasts aren't happy then buy a full M car, BMW still sell them. I hear tears over the m140i from enthusiast, why in anything but perfect conditions it's power was down right dangerous without an LSD. I own a m140i and in a straight line it's great but cars with smaller engines Golf r S3 A35 on twisty roads are far better. I live in the UK it rains a lot 340hp with rear drive is pointless. Can't wait for my new m135i if for no other reason than when it rains it can still be a fun car to drive
It's still out there and will be for a few years yet, its just a matter if you're willing to pay for cars with it in, new cars with the 'glorious 6 cylinder' engines aren't cheap infact the latest m240i will cost £50,000+
It depends on the market. European cars from early 2020 had the pops & bangs mapped out to meet the requirements of emissions legislation. Non-EU markets did not require the mapping to be changed.

Nice review, great to see someone reviewing the car and not spending the entire time comparing it to the m140i

Well done 👏🏼👏🏼 that should shut the m140 muppets up
That glorious inline 6 will surely be missed..

@@markrhoden68 yeah very true, you can get the B58 in the new m240i but I doubt we'll ever see a 6 pot in a 1 series anymore
It's good to hear balanced review. Nice work. Put the car in Neutral and you can rev it past 4k
You can also rev past 4k when it's fully warmed up to proper oil temp.
@@Somnospeed good to know
Great review!
What model year is this car? I was led to believe the upshift cracks were wiped out. No pops and or crackles (apart from start up)

Which Gearbox do they now use?
It’s an Aisin 8 speed, torque converter.
Did you just call yourself old in the title 😂
😂🤣 Better now
The Automotive Life definitely 😂
