Genuinely think you should look into an ADHD diagnosis (ofc a diagnosis might not be the best option for everyone, as it is expensive and know from experience it takes ages). The symptoms of ADHD and autism often overlap, and the things you expanded on very much make me think of ADHD- for example, hyperfocusing on tasks, and a poor short-term memory. Despite this, it is possible and quite common to have autism and ADHD- I myself am autistic and I'm pretty sure I have ADHD, though it is undiagnosed. Idk if you will see this comment, but thank you so much for existing and making me glad that I exist.
Would also like to point out that these tests are in no way professional, and are based on the stereotypes of autism- but also, being autistic is no bad thing! It just means that your brain thinks differently, and having a diagnosis can give you the help you need to survive in a mostly neurotypical world :)

From what I've heard, the symptoms sometimes cancel each other out making it hard to diagnose? That could be wrong, I'm not very educated on the topic.

im not a doctor so ofc i dont know for sure but from what youre describing i think you have adhd mixed with social anxiety which can a lot of times combine and create autism symptoms. many signs of autism cross over with signs of adhd, such as extreme interests in a specific genre, being able to hyperfocus on one task for a long period of time unless you are interrupted, and talking fast and switching topics very quickly. and a lot of the things you mentioned with finding it difficult in social situations and with making small talk correlate with the social anxiety. i have adhd and anxiety too and for a while i considered that i might be autistic but i think there were a couple differences for me made me realize it wasnt that. people with autism typically notice patterns and cycles and can identify small changes in their environment as well as be very sensitive to loud places. like i said i dont know for sure but im pretty certain youre at least some flavor of neurodivergent and i think you should definitely look into an adhd diagnosis.

It is true. In Europe gettibg diagnosed with mental disorder is free? Because of healthcare insurance. Nobody has benefits for having or not having a certain diagnosis. In fact you have to pay more if you are ill In terms of medicine. There are multiple doctors diagnosing people like neuropsyhologists, psyhiatrists, GP-s, psyhologists. It takes lots of people coworking to get a proper diagnosis on something.
I’ve had autism tests from the NHS (uk shit) and tbh he questions where fairly similar, just like “do you repeat stuff” “ are you weird about food” “do you find it hard to look people in the eyes” also thanks so much for your videos Ben, I watch them when I pack each week and it calms my anxiety.

Just fyi most people who self diagnose autism don't just do so based off of a test alone, usually its the result of many many hours of research on top of that (because why put a label on yourself that practically invites discrimination unless you're certain it'll help you). Just a super common misconception I see about this

For the Spotify thing it’s probably kids / teens with screen time on their phone. so they can’t get on UA-cam past a certain time, but they can still get on Spotify because there’s like always allowed apps, and I feel like most parents would probably put Spotify as one bc it’s just like podcast and music

drama- my doctors and school has recommended an IEP bc im on the spectrum and have adhd (program for learning disabilities) but my mom refuses to go through the interview process to get into it yet she complains about my grades and how i can never focus. what should i do to convince her that this will be good for me.
drama: this drama has been going on for literal MONTHS so im gonna try to keep it short :) (all the names used are fake) i have this friend group that im currently not apart of, but used to be, and it consists of me, and 4 other people. one of the people, "cole" is dating another person in the group, "joshua". joshua was one of my best friends, but we stopped talking after cole and joshua started dating because cole wouldnt ever let me talk to joshua. also, we all have a groupchat together and whenever anyone would be talking in the groupchat, and cole wasnt included, he would butt in and start talking about himself. he would get into certain topics that im not gonna list, but they were pretty serious. he was talk abt these things, and threaten to do them if no one talked to him. this went on from august-december, which was when i started to slowly distance myself from them. fast forward to january this year, and joshua got expelled (i didnt know until i was told by another person in the group because i started homeschool). i asked why, and cole butted into the coversation i was having in the groupchat with "dont worry. its none of ur business. u dont need to know" which i was weired out by because id been super close to joshua prior to cole and joshua dating. i still dont know anything about it, and i asked joshua personally, to which i got an "its complicated" soo. yeah thats all. after that, i muted the groupchat and blocked all the members besides joshua with no warning. P.S.- joshua is autistic and has adhd, while cole thinks hes autistic, but hasnt gotten an official dignosis. ive talked to my brother (whos also autistic) about this, his experiences, etc as well as my therapist and theyve both said that he might be narcissistic rather than autistic, considering many things hes done to joshua and his friends. pretty ironic considering this weeks episode lol

For the Spotify thing it’s probably kids / teens with screen time on their phone. so they can’t get on UA-cam past a certain time, but they can still get on Spotify because there’s like always allowed apps, and I feel like most parents would probably put Spotify as one bc it’s just like podcast and music

Drama: this girl at my school (E) had her brother (R) beat up my friend (C) because C is trans and she had a girlfriend. C got suspended for getting beat up even though she didn’t even fight back and E didn’t even get in trouble at all. C ended up having to move away because she was homeless and being bullied.

drama- my doctors and school has recommended an IEP bc im on the spectrum and have adhd (program for learning disabilities) but my mom refuses to go through the interview process to get into it yet she complains about my grades and how i can never focus. what should i do to convince her that this will be good for me.
drama: this drama has been going on for literal MONTHS so im gonna try to keep it short :)
(all the names used are fake) i have this friend group that im currently not apart of, but used to be, and it consists of me, and 4 other people. one of the people, "cole" is dating another person in the group, "joshua". joshua was one of my best friends, but we stopped talking after cole and joshua started dating because cole wouldnt ever let me talk to joshua. also, we all have a groupchat together and whenever anyone would be talking in the groupchat, and cole wasnt included, he would butt in and start talking about himself. he would get into certain topics that im not gonna list, but they were pretty serious. he was talk abt these things, and threaten to do them if no one talked to him. this went on from august-december, which was when i started to slowly distance myself from them. fast forward to january this year, and joshua got expelled (i didnt know until i was told by another person in the group because i started homeschool). i asked why, and cole butted into the coversation i was having in the groupchat with "dont worry. its none of ur business. u dont need to know" which i was weired out by because id been super close to joshua prior to cole and joshua dating. i still dont know anything about it, and i asked joshua personally, to which i got an "its complicated" soo. yeah thats all. after that, i muted the groupchat and blocked all the members besides joshua with no warning.
P.S.- joshua is autistic and has adhd, while cole thinks hes autistic, but hasnt gotten an official dignosis. ive talked to my brother (whos also autistic) about this, his experiences, etc as well as my therapist and theyve both said that he might be narcissistic rather than autistic, considering many things hes done to joshua and his friends. pretty ironic considering this weeks episode lol
Drama: so recently my mother got out of rehab and i have a bunch of siblings im the middle child but alll my older siblings have other dads and my little sister is 2 and im her babysitter and i babysit about 8hrs a week and my mother doesn't even work but she does have college (shes in her early 40s)and im more of a mom to my littke sister yhan my mother is to her oh and my mother and dad used to be reallly abusive
