Ive had rlly bad acne since i was abt 9 yrs old and i do too believe that kids do not need retinol and stuff like that. Washing ur face and moisurising is all u need if u have clear skin.
not only is this true.. theres also a side where 7-10 year olds are being influenced by there own parents.. i saw a live of it and it made me so upset she was like 8?.. and she was showing off her dior lip oil, bubble moisturizer, serums, ect and her mom was encouraging even doing her own makeup while she did that. even as a younger person who does makeup i agree honestly, its annoying and horrible what kids and parents are doing now. (NOT ALL PARENTS OR KIDS, yk what im talking about.)
when i was 10, i got into skincare and i asked “mom what is retinol?” and she said it burns her face and gives her acne so i wouldnt use it. and i ofc didnt use it. now im older and my mom said she lied because i didn’t need it at the time (i still don’t need it) but now like 8 year olds are using it and im literally convinced that our world is getting worse and worse everyday.
as a kid that has gone to sephora ONCE with my sephora obsessed friend, i completely agree. My friend and her dad had brought me to sephora because my friend, we’ll call her A, forced her dad to bring her to sephora. Since it was my first time ever going, I used almost one sample thing, but not buying anything because I felt bad for her dad. I did end up getting freebies, and so did A.. but A whined the whole way home because she didn’t get a THING. Since my mom saw that I had gone to sephora with my friend once, she got me a $75 sephora gift card.. i haven’t used it for over two years. My friend asked for it, but I said no. I don’t intend to use the gift card, but it does last forever. 😅
I have a similar friend, (this happened a few months ago.) She was at my house after school, and she wanted to see my skincare? I just showed her my cleanser, sunscreen, and moisturiser, and she said, "Where the fuck is your retinol, night cream, and bronzi drops?" Even when I went to her house, she was showing me her "dream skincare routine" and she was whining to her parents about wanting drunk elephant and bubble...
yknow how with some meds you have to up the dose because its effects wear off as your body gets used to it? i have a theory that all the kids buying skin care before they even have had a single pimple are gonna get the same effect. like when they actually hit puberty their body will be so used to the skin care that its not gonna matter and it'll have no effect
That could be true but then again the skin care they're using is made for teens to adults and actually hards their skin.. So maybe it might also make their ace, etc worse 🤔
i completely agree with you on the discipline part bc i’ve see and had family who’s kids are exactly what you described, because they don’t show their kids the right way to act 😭😭
I think the main reason why ten years old want skin care is because they are heavily influenced by social media despite being so young. Parents should more control over their children.
i am 17 and i have cystic acne, and I have to take accutane.. i started having ance issues when i was 13, but i started a long and hard skin care routine on my skin. which made it 100% WAY WORSE. DO NOT USE INSANE ROUTINES. now years later i am learning you need. moisturizer and a SOFT cleanser for your face and wash ur face once a day. ( ofc i mean for normal people unless ur skins is sensitive or etc..) you do not need all this stuff for your face at 10 years old or even 15 or 16! please y’all be careful with ur skin.
As a homeschooled 12 year old girl, I could never agree more that elementary-Middle schoolers shouldn't go to make up stores 😭 I feel bad for the employees, and why don't there parents discipline them if I ever did that I'd get whipped with a slipper by my mother 💀
your so right i have a sister that is NINE, and all she wants for her birthday is skincare, i brought her a squishmelow thingy the other day and she said "ew i dont want that im not 5" I WOULD HAVE LOVED A SQUISHMELOW AT 9 LIKE SHIT I WAS WEARING LIKE THEM SHOPKIN SHIRTS AND CARRYING AROUND MY MY LITTLE PONY, im so sad that this generation of kids didnt get a childhood like we did! tbh social media ruined a lot of childhoods
DRAMA (sort of) I have finals this week and I have been really stressed out but my mother fails to understand what I feel and she keeps on getting mad at me for being stressed out, and calling me lazy. It is just so frustrating. Does anyone have advise.
I regret sitting like a shrimp during my adolecence playing minecraft and fornite😭but I'm glad my parents waited til junior high to give me my first touch screen tablet then smartphone. I did end up spending a lot of time on those and video games, but I'm glad I had a childhood without those, other than some "sandbox" games shared with my dad that sparked my appreciation for gaming🥺
I’m 10 and I personally hate drunk elephant, it’s expensive and does nothing for your skin. I do go to Sephora sometimes, all I have is perfume, lip balm, and the ordinary
@@_sillymolly_ I mean ur good since lip balm is good for ur age, perfume is good IF it fits ur age (i reccomend stuff like vs bodymists or some other not heavy smells) and the ordinary stuff depends. I have a gen alpha friend who is born in 2014 and tries to fit in without those and I helped her aswell.
Apothecary can apply to this. An apothecary usually has medicine related goods and herbs which also include tinctures, elixirs, and potions of which make-up can be described in a different way.
my best friend was in the hospital because of an eating disorder, and one of the other girls in our friend group, who were not too close with basically blackmailed my best friend into telling her why she was in the hospital. Idk know how to confront the girl or if I even should it made my friend feel rlly uncomfortable. PS. my friends out and doing fine I hope your doing well Ben, love your content you make my day.
it's so scary and discouraging how we (society) are prioritizing beauty standards and there's a HUGE influx of virtual entertainment (i.e., streaming, social media, influencers, content creators, etc). this is what this generation is growing up in and society is failing them. what about their education?? in the US, education is at an all time low and it should be prioritized. i just want to grab those parents by their shoulders and demand them to wake tf up and pay more attention to what media they're consuming and how they are doing academically. kids are not at fault-we should stop ridiculing them or, on the other hand, exploiting them (like sephora and sad beige moms, they're not a source of income, an accessory, or an aesthetic). let kids be kids!!
My sister is a Sephora kid. I feel like teens can get skin care but like only face wash and the basics. But the fact that 9-10 year olds get expensive makeup, skincare and water bottles. ALL THINGS THEY DONT need. Is wild
Oh my god, this is so true! there's 12 year olds in my school that have full on drawers of Sephora makeup and foundations, they got like full on 3 pounds of makeup on everyday!
Hello Ben this is my drama: I’m currently going through the awkward middle school phase and I’m built like an Oompa Loompa. Taller kids in my grade annoy me and pick me up like a fucking American girl doll, what should I do🥰🥰
I'm not defending ANY of those children but hear me out, some people do have insecurities and when I was around 11 or 12 I remember having VERY bad ache and I was very self conscious of this so having limited skin care or "Makeup" could make kids feel better about themselves. What theses kids are doing is not okay at all just putting another perspective out there. Love you so much Ben your videos are so funny and make my day can't imagine this platform without you! 💕
I started washing my face when I was like 8 because I have acne prone skin (I am 12 rn) BUT I FIND IT CRAZY THAT GIRL MY AGE ARE SPENDING LIKE 300-500 DOLLARS ON SKINCARE? (my skincare or whatever you wanna call it is like 40 dollars in all)
As a kid, WHO HAS THE WORST ACNE 🤑🤑❗️❗️ I would NEVER go to sephora for skincare. The first reason is because of social anxiety. Second, my parents are smarter and wiser than me, so they know what i need. I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND PEOPLE MY AGE RUNNING AROUND BEING FUCKING DEMONOMIC IN A FUCKING MAKEUP SHOP LJKE😭😭
i totally agree with you. i have gen X parents and my mom is closer to millennial than my dad and you can see the difference of parenting. my mom still punishes my younger siblings, but not as harsh. like my dad would totally still spanck my siblings if it wasnt for my mom. anyways the mix makes well-respective children who literally only stepped in a sephore once (didnt even get anything) who have limited screen time. its OKAY to punish your kids or raise your voice.
I am not a whole lot older than these ten year olds, but I was raised to only get what I need and not give into wants like thousands of dollars in skincare. I grew up getting kids makeup pallets and clip-on jewlery from claire's, and mixing play-dough colors, and I really respect my parents for raising me to not be like these ten year olds. I think media having this much of an influence on children is disgusting, and I hope that when I become an adult and eventually have children that they are raised with the same values as I was.
5:36 I'm decently young and buying skin care because my acne is paralyzing like I've been sent to the hospital for it anyways I've seen girls with beautiful clear skin crying because of a mini red dot (which btw DOES NOT COUNT AS A PIMPLE) and cover it with makeup so any kid under 14 wanting to get skincare remember it's not worth it unless you need it
But like it’s actually sad for Gen alpha because Ngl I don’t think any of them have like played with barbies/ shopkins and all those stuff I had when I was younger like it’s actually sad when you walk into a restaurant and see little kids with tablets/phones to entertain them, when I was younger I never even had an iPad or tablet and these kids have like not had a childhood it’s actually sad
It’s also a thing where there isn’t many places where pre-teens and teens can hang out anymore. Due to the internet, they’re some-what forced to grow up faster in order to “fit” into the new norms that gets set upon them by influencers.
I think remember going to sephora as a joke with my korean friend after some korean bbq with our family few months ago (in context we're both korean so we're strictly not allowed to have lipstick etc.) And this korean bbq was near a small area kind of like a mall but outside me and her both knew about how there were sterotypes of little kids liking makeup which we both thought was a lie. But funny enough there was one right next to that korean bbq, so we thought we could check it out as a joke. and funnyly enough... we saw 7 toddlers there in total, not kids, toddlers asking stuff for their mom.
I was 8 when I gained my consciousness, when I was 10 [4 years ago] I hated skincare, I hated pick me's, and I hated makeup. I was also above average on everything, so I was educated about other things earlier, now im 14, for makeup all I wear is 2 things, Mascara, lipgloss, and the rest of the makeup I use for fun
these kids need a reality check bye 😭😭 kids on the other side of the world can't afford food don't have any thing and bros literally crying about not getting drunk elephant 🤓☝️
At 10, i was in Sephora for one reason, i had started getting acne then and needed something for my face, BUT, i was there with my mom walking with her everywhere she goes cuz i didnt wanna be alone. Im now 15-16 and i find it hilarious 10 yr olds are raiding sephora
I think it may be because a lot of the time their parents know what their doing but just ignore it and act like its fine also if their friends are ruining sephora then they will be more convinced to do it and also social media a toxic beauty standards arnt helping this entire situation and at target apparently the girls clothing is getting shorter and shorter and its at the point where there ar literally 8 YEAR OLDS wearing tiny bike shorts and crop tops
i’m 12 and i go to sephora with my mom, she lets me buy a few thing BUT im respectful to the employees, testers, etc. i hope the the 10 yr olds and younger be more respectful tho
These parents should seriously let them run outside, watch childhood Disney movies, read with books, learn to ride a bike, run after the ice cream truck on Sunday’s, hang with friends while they can, before they go through puberty and loose that chance of having a childhood, PLEASE!
I’m 11 turning 12 this year but I only been to Sephora once. I only went in there to buy something for my mom for her birthday. I seen 5-10 year old girls at the drunk elephant OF COURSE. They were destroying all the testers and making skincare smoothies. I WAS PLAYING WITH BARBIES AT THOSE AGES
I’m about to be brutally honest for a minute…I’m 12..I’ve had an iPad since I think I was about in 1st grade..and just got a phone this year because we got rid of our house phone....I’m an only child I’ve always wanted to learn and read..and it just concerns kids that are my age and younger wanting to be critically online…as an influencer or gamer whatever..it’s so concerning how or of touch some kids are with reality..I’m a little kid I know but it’s hard to watch kids my age wanting all the same goals instead of wanting to help with real world problems like the medical field or police force..I’m really working hard so I can have my ambitions of being a lawyer..there’s nothing wrong with being an influencer trust me..I just want to be able to see more kids want to work instead of trying to get famous..especially at a young age on social media platforms instead of worrying about being an actual kid
toxic beauty standards definitely also play a huge role in this. Maybe some kids are just buying the products for the sake of having the product, but a lot of these kids are caring A LOT about their appearances from an alarmingly young age.

@@R4in3dr0pcontinue acting your age im just a few years older than you but i can tell you growing up too fast is not fun
Ive had rlly bad acne since i was abt 9 yrs old and i do too believe that kids do not need retinol and stuff like that. Washing ur face and moisurising is all u need if u have clear skin.
FRRRR
not only is this true.. theres also a side where 7-10 year olds are being influenced by there own parents.. i saw a live of it and it made me so upset she was like 8?.. and she was showing off her dior lip oil, bubble moisturizer, serums, ect and her mom was encouraging even doing her own makeup while she did that. even as a younger person who does makeup i agree honestly, its annoying and horrible what kids and parents are doing now.
Ben literally explained these ten year olds perfectly.

as a kid that has gone to sephora ONCE with my sephora obsessed friend, i completely agree.

They should put “must be over 13 to use tester” signs by all the testers but they would probably ignore it
Our favourite 24 yr old man!

DRAMA (sort of)
I have finals this week and I have been really stressed out but my mother fails to understand what I feel and she keeps on getting mad at me for being stressed out, and calling me lazy. It is just so frustrating. Does anyone have advise.
I was born in 2009 and now I'm 15 I only use two products on my face and that's it
I know this kid who's literally only seven and has her entire birthday wishlist filled with skincare.
Whatever you say full grown adult.
10 years old with perfume???
@@erika40101 are 10 year olds not allowed to smell good?
@@_sillymolly_fr
@@_sillymolly_ I mean ur good since lip balm is good for ur age, perfume is good IF it fits ur age (i reccomend stuff like vs bodymists or some other not heavy smells) and the ordinary stuff depends. As a 2012 kid I'm so happy I was raised like a normal child with toys and playing outside bro
Apothecary can apply to this. An apothecary usually has medicine related goods and herbs which also include tinctures, elixirs, and potions of which make-up can be described in a different way.
Sephora kids are a whole different level
my best friend was in the hospital because of an eating disorder, and one of the other girls in our friend group, who were not too close with basically blackmailed my best friend into telling her why she was in the hospital. Idk know how to confront the girl or if I even should it made my friend feel rlly uncomfortable. PS. my friends out and doing fine I hope your doing well Ben, love your content you make my day.
it's so scary and discouraging how we (society) are prioritizing beauty standards and there's a HUGE influx of virtual entertainment (i.e., streaming, social media, influencers, content creators, etc). this is what this generation is growing up in and society is failing them. what about their education?? in the US, education is at an all time low and it should be prioritized. i just want to grab those parents by their shoulders and demand them to wake tf up and pay more attention to what media they're consuming and how they are doing academically. kids are not at fault-we should stop ridiculing them or, on the other hand, exploiting them (like sephora and sad beige moms, they're not a source of income, an accessory, or an aesthetic). let kids be kids!!
i don’t see u as an influencer u have ur own spot as “ben🥰” in my mind tbh
My sister is a Sephora kid. I feel like teens can get skin care but like only face wash and the basics. But the fact that 9-10 year olds get expensive makeup, skincare and water bottles. ALL THINGS THEY DONT need. Is wild
EXACTLYYYY LIKE IF TEENS ARE GOING THRU BAD STUFF W THEIR SKIN THEY CAN BUY SKINCARE ND MAKEUP BUT FOR LITERAL KIDS??? HELL NO
Oh my god, this is so true! there's 12 year olds in my school that have full on drawers of Sephora makeup and foundations, they got like full on 3 pounds of makeup on everyday!
Hello Ben this is my drama: I’m currently going through the awkward middle school phase and I’m built like an Oompa Loompa. Taller kids in my grade annoy me and pick me up like a fucking American girl doll, what should I do🥰🥰
17:41 That happens to me all of the time. But your reaction is hilarious😂😂
im actually so glad you posted this week, because i thought the charged lemonade finally got to you 🙏
I’m 10 years old and thank God I’m watching people like you and kurtis Connor
I'm 15 and the only thing i get at Sephora is mascara and eyeshadow 😭 so glad my 13 year sister isn't one if those kids
the issue is that kids don't have places to hang out it's actually sad
I started washing my face when I was like 8 because I have acne prone skin (I am 12 rn) BUT I FIND IT CRAZY THAT GIRL MY AGE ARE SPENDING LIKE 300-500 DOLLARS ON SKINCARE? (my skincare or whatever you wanna call it is like 40 dollars in all)
personally when i was 10 i needed skincare for acne and stuff because like- idk- but the 10 yr olds in sephora are actually crazy
6:49 ASMR? 😨 😱
Yes, it dosent matter if Sephora loses samples but the employees who aren’t being payed enough are the people who have to clean it up
“Locust like swarms” 😭
I am not a whole lot older than these ten year olds, but I was raised to only get what I need and not give into wants like thousands of dollars in skincare. I grew up getting kids makeup pallets and clip-on jewlery from claire's, and mixing play-dough colors, and I really respect my parents for raising me to not be like these ten year olds. I think media having this much of an influence on children is disgusting, and I hope that when I become an adult and eventually have children that they are raised with the same values as I was.
As a teen, the only time I’ve ever stepped foot in a Sephora was for my mom’s bday 😅
Same but I went 2x for different reasons lol
I'm a 12 year old goth/grunge girl and the only reason I've been in a sephora is because I was shopping with my dad for birthday gifts for my mom. 😭

I so live for his videos
It’s also a thing where there isn’t many places where pre-teens and teens can hang out anymore. Due to the internet, they’re some-what forced to grow up faster in order to “fit” into the new norms that gets set upon them by influencers.
23:05 LMAOOO I LOVE BEN
I think remember going to sephora as a joke with my korean friend after some korean bbq with our family few months ago (in context we're both korean so we're strictly not allowed to have lipstick etc.) And this korean bbq was near a small area kind of like a mall but outside me and her both knew about how there were sterotypes of little kids liking makeup which we both thought was a lie. But funny enough there was one right next to that korean bbq, so we thought we could check it out as a joke. and funnyly enough... we saw 7 toddlers there in total, not kids, toddlers asking stuff for their mom.

Fr YOUR LIKE- 5- YOU DONT NEED SKINCARE 😭
I think it may be because a lot of the time their parents know what their doing but just ignore it and act like its fine also if their friends are ruining sephora then they will be more convinced to do it and also social media a toxic beauty standards arnt helping this entire situation and at target apparently the girls clothing is getting shorter and shorter and its at the point where there ar literally 8 YEAR OLDS wearing tiny bike shorts and crop tops
As a kid my skincare is putting water on my face and that slays
i’m 12 and i go to sephora with my mom, she lets me buy a few thing BUT im respectful to the employees, testers, etc. i hope the the 10 yr olds and younger be more respectful tho
As a minor I use regular skincare like face wash and moisturizer AND THATS ALL YOU NEED AT THE AGE OF 11
These parents should seriously let them run outside, watch childhood Disney movies, read with books, learn to ride a bike, run after the ice cream truck on Sunday’s, hang with friends while they can, before they go through puberty and loose that chance of having a childhood, PLEASE!

I Never knew Ben would talk about this…😨
I’m about to be brutally honest for a minute…I’m 12..I’ve had an iPad since I think I was about in 1st grade..and just got a phone this year because we got rid of our house phone....I’m an only child I’ve always wanted to learn and read..and it just concerns kids that are my age and younger wanting to be critically online…as an influencer or gamer whatever..it’s so concerning how or of touch some kids are with reality..I’m a little kid I know but it’s hard to watch kids my age wanting all the same goals instead of wanting to help with real world problems like the medical field or police force..I’m really working hard so I can have my ambitions of being a lawyer..there’s nothing wrong with being an influencer trust me..I just want to be able to see more kids want to work instead of trying to get famous..especially at a young age on social media platforms instead of worrying about being an actual kid
I feel like sephora should take up this as an opportunity to create a tween section, made with gentle products for gen alpha
