A new safe space for young people to learn and play is now open at Sugaw Creek Park in Charlotte, North Carolina as part of the #Return2Play Fund co-founded by Beyond Sport and ESPN!
On June 8, 2024, the two refurbished basketball courts were opened with support from ESPN, love.fútbol, Mecklenburg County and Rise to Win. The space will serve as a hub for local residents and provide a safe place for young people to play.
The multi-sport space will also provide opportunities for the communities in and around the area by equipping them with additional tools to help address some of the social challenges they face.
