Reminds me of the core 2 quad Q6600 when that came out, was put to amazing use from 2008-2015. One of my friends still has that old build and it still runs. He also is running his 2016 build that has a 6th gen intel 6700
I'm running a 6700k with a 7900XT and I'm still GPU bound at 1440p in everything I play. It's a great CPU, though I can definitely feel it's age in the latest games which support up to 16 cores even if they're horribly optimised on any system. In Cyberpunk 1440p ultra native I get over 101 fps average.
Skylake, Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake, Coffee Lake Refresh and Comet Lake are all the same. Intel simply added more cores and cache, and upped clock speeds (in this instance the i3 actually has 2MB less L3 cache, however). The i3-10100F is beating the i7-6700 because of higher clock speeds and that is mostly it. Memory frequency makes a bit of a difference but not a huge one. Both CPUs clocked at 4.1GHz should perform about the same.
Thank you for your videos they are very helpful when comparing specs! I was so close to getting the i7 but now that I see this i3 gets down and is way cheaper i am gonna have to cop.
My Ryzen 5 3500 sits somewhere between these two chips; It's slightly more powerful than the i7 and slightly less powerful than i3 (although sometimes outperforms the i3 because my Ryzen is overclocked)
Ryzen from gen 3 is really a good processor (even the 2 gen), I think is far better than some old i7 6700~7700, 6/12 is making a good difference every release.

i have asrock b460-hdv paired with i3 10100f and its great! If u have tight budget pick some b460 chipset mobo, skip h410 cause they re created for office pc’s not for gamers

Sure you can still use that 6700. It would pair good with gtx 1660 or something like that. Or if youre going brand new GPU maybe a 3050?..not sure about that. New is overrated.

even that i7 configuration will faster than i3 gen10, the price is too high and make it not apple to apple. the price for single i7 6700 is more expensive than i3 10100f + mobo h510m, that configuration is not apple to apple anyway
@@CaptainScorpio24 yep, Idk how it works but it does if I try running all 4 cores the PC just refuses to startup, if I disable one of the cores in the bios starts up perfectly fine
@@mirific87 nope I tested different three motherboards and went through different PSU as well, tried different ram, different boot drives with five different os's, everything, it was the core being dead. The CPU came from an OEM HP Machine and a few people as well reported one of the CPU cores dying, only fix I could figure out with the system was running the system with 3 cores enabled instead of 4.

I have a i3 6100. I never use that oc anymore but starting to look into upgrades.
I upgraded from i3 6100 to i7 6700 about a year ago and it still handles games fine
