Thanks, Bryan! This is an excellent, no-nonsense series. I just bought a 1988 Corvette with a tired cluster, and I'll soon be in touch with you to work out a program to refresh it.
Those of you that have a problem with your digital speedometer on your corvette , I used his service and he’s good and affordable I highly recommend this service you can’t go wrong !
Thank you very much for this video. I bought your product and followed your instructions. The results were perfect and made the dashboard look like new.
After watching this tutorial on replacing the polarized film shown on C4 Corvette Atari dash it dawned on me I could just cut away the bad area and replace it with new polarizing film! Guess what? It worked! I cut a 1-1/2" square around the numbers showing the revolutions of the motor... and wallah! It worked! 🥳 I have 2 more sections I have to do which I will try to video tape and put on UA-cam, just to show how it can be done. If you can afford to have someone do it for you Good luck, but it only cost me $8 lol
@@crazyuncleburton - oh duh, never thought of that. I eventually plan on doing it the right way but as a temp fix it's been great. I just cringe at the thought of taking the dash apart 😱
@@colt5189 That's a good idea, Unfortunately my right passenger side headlight blew up so I gotta fix that before I video* it. The motor tore itself off of its mounting...😭 *Looks awful
I know you say the polarizer is faded, but isn't the polarizer damaged from heat? Possible heat damage coming from the back light?. That being the case is there a polarizer that is not so sensitive to heat damage?
Hi guys, don't know if you still monitor this but I tried emailing and didn't get a reply. I ordered the full rebuild kit, it was great, i'm having one issue, not related to you I think but I could use some advice/direction. My center panel worked fine, tachometer side worked fine, I just had a bad polarizing film on the speedometer side. I decided to do all three films, when I put everything back together (it all looked very goodas far as connecters etc) and put it back in 3/4 of the center panel is missing lcd segments. The only thing working properly is the temp/volt piece. The gas gauge is working but missing about 4 bars, one on top and 3 in the middle- the other three are missing lcd segments and not acting right (when you flip switch to oil pressure the display says oil temperature, etc). I took it all back apart and checked the pink conductive blocks, they seemed ok. I swapped them with ones for the tach and speedo, reinstalled all, same thing. Any ideas what I screwed up here? Thanks in advance for any tips you can give me.
Thanks! It worked just as you said. Thank you for all your work in making these things available, the digital cluster is working perfectly now. I'll be going to batee.com to buy the environmental control rebuild kit next...
