Peaople hate 1h and 2h spear but the fact is spears were top down best weapon in medieval era in any form
I agree spears were good until armour became relatively stronger. Then we saw the rise of polearms. When firearms became prominent to overcome armour we saw pikes rise in popularity until bayonets became a thing.
In terms of unamored and cheap weaponry yes. But the true king of weapons were the poleaxe since they were effective for all types of enemies even cavalry.
great video, like the hoplite idea never used the one handed spear might have to try it out. You managed to get your chiv working yet?
Thanks! 1H spear on guardian with a risk adverse playstyle is probably the easiest way to go deathless. Anyway if playing regularly it’s very strong. A mix of stabs and specials are very potent.
No, havent got my Chivalry to work. It seems to be an Easy Anti Cheat issue and others got the same problem overnight. Got videos scheduled for the next 4-5 days but after that I have some other content ideas for Chiv.
I still remember the conversation from last night, and this is proof of how advantageous spear is.
Very powerful indeed! Especially during Ancient times when armour wasn't so good spear and shield was so dominant.
@@klevinduck true, Early Roman Hastati and Princepes were made up of Large Oval shields and a Spear. Tho, the greeks quickly figured out that a long pointy stick is a dangerous tool
@@klevinduck True, the Early Roman Hastati and Princepes in the Early Manipular System first adopted the spear and circle shields, but gradually got replaced with the menacing gladius and the scutum. Considering the fact that the Hastati were basically armor less citizens, and the factor of a large shield protecting the entire body with an advantageous weapon was a huge boost in protection.
Yep. What's also important to consider is battle doctrine and terrain when the two armies fought. Long Phalanxes on hilly terrain (especially with pikes) may not be so good against Maniples of heavy infantry. I'm not too knowledgeable about Ancient history so maybe I'm talking about a different time period after the Marian reforms.
@@klevinduck yeah, and one of the reasons why the Roman Republic MIlitary ditched the original phalanx after the samnite wars were due to the terrain and inflexibility of its use, beginning the reform of the manipular. Im not really good at medieval history, but its something looking forward too.

Cheers! Yeah can definitely play in third person. I like to mix it up with the perspectives. I have a 1H spear video in third person already but it was made when I was quite new to the game haha.
100 kills, not teakdowns? Damn, that's a hard one! A good weapon would probably be something like the greatsword or war axe, as they're really good in TO. Good luck and nice gameplay!
Yep 100 kills not takedowns! I was trying for the past few days. My record is 80 with the battle axe but it’s tough. Need to play a near flawless game on a long map that goes the distance.

Those were some pretty good K/Ds... especially that first game. sheep hates fighting against the one-handed spear.
One thing Im focusing on now is not just KD but impact. It’s something I focus a lot on in Counterstrike. So one way is that I really want to be the first one in leading the charge. But there’s a way to do it without immediately dying.

@@klevinduck it's not super competitive but will have some stat tracking and both teams of course will want to win. are you in discord? I can send you a link if you are not already in OCE and TFG discords. and yes there has been a lot of issues with servers recently
