      For the RC, try focusing on CR first. You'll drastically improve your RC abilities if your CR score improves.
      For RC, alone, try reading editorials in newspapers to increase your reading speed which can also give you more time to tackle the questions

    Hey Arif! Amazing video. I'm a business undergrad and I've just entered my final year. I have strong extra curriculars and my plan is to maximize my GPA to at least a 3.6 on 4 by the end of my undergrad. I've been thinking about getting into management consultancy and I feel like working w a consultancy firm for at least some time after my undergrad would really help in understanding more about the industry in general. Only then I feel like I would be completely sure about the MiM degree. This was incredibly insightful and please keep doing these videos.

    I'm from EEE ( those who know will know)

    • @iArifAhmad
      @iArifAhmad  3 роки тому +3

      Depends here on what you call a low GPA. But yes, it can be compensated in a few cases with other things. If you are going for a master's degree after 2-3 years of graduating from college, you could become a totally different person and not the one who had the low GPA so you can build you story around that and showcase new found motivation.

    Hi Arif,
    I have a query. Having a strong brand name is important for the application but in my case I work for a mid sized company which might not be considered at par with the big4 companies. Does that significantly reduce the chances of getting in a b school? As far as I’ve observed, people with a big brand name get preference even with decent GMAT scores.
    Please advise.

    • @iArifAhmad
      @iArifAhmad  3 роки тому

      No, that's actually not the case. The kind of work you have done and the impact that it has made matters more. Whichever company you've worked for, if you have good knowledge about the industry, about the work that you have done then you can very well make your case.

    • @iArifAhmad
      @iArifAhmad  4 роки тому

      Thank you Aryan. I'll keep that idea in mind but just to give you a small comparison, MiM from Europe and an MBA from India really cater to different audiences. If you want to work and settle in India, then an Indian MBA is the obvious choice. Moreover MBA will really help you to specialize in a particular field whereas MiM will help you switch into another industry/sector.

      Typically ranging from 40K € to 60K € depending upon your industry and whether you already have work experience.
      But again brother, really want to emphasize on the fact that these 2 things are really different. Don't compare stats like this because even the lower bracket 40K€ is almost 35 Lakhs which only a handful people get in IIMs. The main pt. being that living expenses, overall standard of living, everything is different. So I would really recommend not comparing the 2

    • @iArifAhmad
      @iArifAhmad  4 роки тому +3

      Hi. That's actually not a fair comparison to be honest. MBA from an IIM cannot be compared to a MiM degree from bschool outside India. Still, if your main concern is placements, let me tell you that there is no such thing as placements in LBS, you will have to approach recruiters, companies by yourself, send them your CV and wait for them to respond. At IIMs in India, you will have a full placement procedure where companies will come to the campus and you get the chance to sit for them. Outside, people end up applying to over 50 positions at the very least. I hope you got the idea :)

    Hey whatare your views on INSEAD MIM?

    • @iArifAhmad
      @iArifAhmad  3 роки тому

      Can't really put my views in a comment. But yes, it definitely is great. INSEAD is one of the top schools for MBA so it it okay to assume its MiM will be a good program but since it just started this year, all of us need time to see how it pans out.

    Hi please tell me more about your personal categorisation of school in dream, safe and competitive.

    • @iArifAhmad
      @iArifAhmad  3 роки тому +2

      Ummm although this is a very traditional and widely used method of selecting schools, I would encourage you to look at the curriculum that suits your aspirations and then select school accordingly. Many times just selecting schools as dream safe and competitive, people tend to keep options which are not even relevant to them

    Thank you so much for such an informative video. Could you please enlighten here whether we should go for consultants for LBS admit. Moreover, if financing a consultant is difficult for me, how can I make best of my applications at INSEAD & LBS. How to get sample essays and all.

    • @iArifAhmad
      @iArifAhmad  4 роки тому

      Hi Aashish, thank you so much for your kind words. Both Siddharth and I didn't go for any consultation services as we wanted to go through the process ourselves. So I'm not sure if we'll be the right person to tell you if you should go for it or not. As for sample essays, I just researched online and got a few free ones off Google and then just talked to a few seniors and got their insights. When it comes to essays and applications, there is no one right answer. Try to identify your strengths and focus on them. Maybe join clubs, do some courses, just work on it in whichever way possible. Focus on applying with an application that is well put together and tells a compelling story

    Do they prefer engineering grads. ??

    • @iArifAhmad
      @iArifAhmad  4 роки тому +1

      No, there is no such preference.
      All international schools focus a lot on diversity so they try to have equal number of people coming from engineering background, business background, arts, commerce, even medical professionals looking for management degrees etc
      Since Indian Engineer applicant pool is quite large it actually makes it more competitive for us
