This one made it to Eric Cantona's top 5 free kicks
😂😂😂😂😂😂, even as a French, I find that funny lmao
It was free and it was a kick
An absolutely astonishing free kick goal from Cantona! We will never see a free kick goal like this ever again!
Free indeed.
🤣👌
He called it his moment of purity.
What a legend...
what a dumb ass great player but guys a muppet
I remember watching this live at 17 tripping out my box thinking it wasn’t real. It was so surreal. Absolute madness. Cantona was my favourite player. Seeing him fly kick a fan is something I will never ever forget.
Were they double dipped strawberries
I'm wondering if random teenagers doing acid or mushrooms somehow influences the universe to make weird stuff happen to the football lol. In my case, me and my mates were all watching MOTD while tripping like f. Villa were 4-0 up at half time at Middlesbrough, Lee Cattermole, who looked about 10, came on the pitch for his debut but started crying his eyes out in front of everyone (pretty sure it was him!), before a parachutist crash landed on the pitch. Yeah that happens every week when you're not tripping lol
that's hilarious@@davyprendergast82
He did the right thing
It's not the kick, it's the punch he lands on him right afterwards. That one certainly rocked the arsehole.
kick if done right is much more stronger than a punch, go watch taekwondo ko's, but yeah he is a footballer not a martial artist.
and what a punch it was!
it was a quick powerful punch he knows how to throw a punch
He deffo didn't want another one the cheeky little.😂😂😂😂kung fu cantano i said oo r cantana
he didnt look very rocked. its the shaved headed bloke with a tie and leather jacket.
Basically said he won’t be saying anything 😂😂😂 what a goat
What a legend
😂😂😂 what a fucking legend
He number 7
No need for VAR on that one lol 😂🤣
😝👌
They laughed but i think we understood exactly what he meant. Rather ironic that the media didn't.
What did he mean?
@@endless9207 The Trawler is him, the Seagulls are the press.
.
Think you can work out sardines 🙂
That has always stuck with me, How can I take the mainstream media seriously if they can't even figure that out? Hence I never have.
The meaning is that the media are scavengers looking for scraps. Modern day equivalent is gettin dem clicks.
Never see this again. Eric was a genius. Best 1 million quid ever spent on a footballer. He'd be worth 150 today.
Probably alot more lol man u bought that Harry maguire for 80 mil lol 😅what a joke
@@ironlungslc9529 probably
Love how the guy mugging him off acts like he done nothing wrong after getting lamped
Everybody was kung fu fighting 🙌
And that is why my firstborn is named Eric, 1966 was a Great year for English football, the King was born!
Please tell me he fly kicks kids in school 😅
"English"
"Football is life"

Not modern football though
He probably said “I love football”
A true legend!
Nah . POS more like.
"playing for MU was a beautiful moment in my life. but nothing is more beautiful than kicking a fan" -Eric Cantona
Any more videos of the beginning of this clip?
Ain't nobody gonna talk about Peter Schmeichel's tucked in jersey and oddly above the weist high pants!
The real crimimal here was that jersey's deseigner
And his hair?
95 in Europe, dude, fashionably speaking it's 88 in US.
Perfect response to the milling media, but maybe the best part of the video is Schmeichel's 'Harry High Pants' outfit, with that enormous jersey tucked right in. Aah, the nineties: the decade in which good taste took an extended holiday.
lol 😆😆😆
Hang on - the nineties blasted 80s Stock Aitken and Waterman, Rick Astley, Boy George, early Kylie into a pre 1960s George Formy-esque hole. Garbage, Radiohead, Oasis, the internet, 5% lager, all day opening hours... methinks you are a bit hard on the Nineties Sir.
Cantona = Proto-Zlatan.
the punch after the kick is the best
I remember the older woman to the left of the guy who was kicked was interviewed at her home on tv. She seemed very upper class you'd expect to see at Polo match and not one that fitted the mold of your average English football supporter at the goal end of an EPL match.
Fun fact : The guy who got kung-fu kicked, Matthew Simmons, lied in court about hurling racial slurs at Cantona, but was found guilty and slapped with a £500 fine. Immediately after the verdict was passed, he proceeded to physically assault the prosecutor outside the courtroom and was rewarded with another £500 fine and a week in jail for his troubles.
Racial slurs? You mean francophobic slurs? He called his mother "a French whore".
He did it whilst in court didn’t he? Jumping over the barrier and grabbing the prosecutor in a head lock.
This never gets old 👍
Seagulls? VULTURES!
Dude got down like a G
They finally forgive Eric Cantona when he appeared in the (circa) 2002 NIKE FOOTBALL ADVERTISEMENT, CAGE FOOTBALL Match with the Best Players in the World At the Time. (Elvis vs JXL- 'Little Less Conversation'; the backing soundtrack)
there is nothing to forgive, hooligans are no football fans
"I love football"
Pure poetry
Legend 👏
29 years passed away since that
Those years didn't pass away - they were lived and loved to the full.
He's has it's coming.😂
Legend!!! Eric Cantona has got my respect!
That mono brow could sink a trawler
U got be Aussie😂
Is this the only camera angle they have of the kick?

jesus christ what a legend the fan desirved it
Nice punch
u better not mess with the king
Cantona' è lo zio di Ibrahimovic❤❤❤❤
It was a truly terrible thing when Paul Nixon a Palace fan was run over by a coach after a brawl outside a pub in Walsall. This was pre the FA Cup Semi final between United and Palace @ Villa Park. I support Man United and I've been to Selhurst back in the 80's and 90's a few times. We were not welcomed with open arms, but it was a relatively safe place for United fans in those days and United fans were all over the ground. Away end, home end, stand everywhere. There was no beef between United and Palace before the Cantona/Simmons incident.
I wasn't there so don't know why things got out of hand that day. The level of violence was unjustified. The people who were responsible for a slab being dropped on Dennis O'Leary's head should be locked up. I wish that some of the culprits that day had been taken to court and locked up for a long time to give Paul's family some sort of justice. The actions of some United fans throwing bricks led to the Palace Coach driver panicking, driving off and then Paul trying to jump onto a moving coach. The whole thing is a terrible tragedy and one that I wish had never happened and that everyone had just drank happily together and boarded the respective coaches and gone to the game!
Cantona is still a legend @ United. I think what he did to Mathew Simmons was stupid, but I also understand his actions. For far, far too long our game has been blighted with knuckledraggers who think they can get away with saying whatever they want. This incident obviously caused friction between United and Palace, where there had not been any before. But it's important to say that there should be no blame towards Cantona regarding the tragic death of Paul Nixon. Cantona would never have wanted anything like that to happen. His beef was only with a thug called Mathew Simmons.
As a Manchester United fan I want to say how deeply sorry I am that this incident happened at all. I realise that this will probably fall on deaf ears and understandably so with Paul's family and friends, but we're not all monsters. I am just as appalled with what happened as any Palace fan would be. We're human beings before anything! RIP Paul Nixon ❤💙
*HE, REALLY, SAID, THAT???!!!* 😮😁 *UTA!*
Watching this I pissed myself
The way the fan holds his arms out after - not sure whether he's gesturing that he didn't do anything or if it's because he's suddenly realised he's now a little coward and out of his depth trying to get someone to help him. Either way it just shows what a little scumbag he was.
The fan deserved it!
grande eric!
I call him "The Karate Kid"
😂😂😂 what a chad. ❤
When man had one eyebrow
He did what every player wanted to do
Thx

Can someone translate please? 🤷🏻♂️
Whats the story behind this kick. I don’t watch football but intersting to know why it happened
Hardest French man ever
I don't understand what he said. Something about seagulls and the sea
When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea
@jeek I appreciate that, mate! Seriously, cheers!
@@jeek78and what does that mean lol?
Yeah what does it mean in the context?
@@davidbosnia4141probably means something to do with following for nothing or being baited with no reward/no good outcome
Even as a liverpool fan....l must admit...l was pissing myself laughing when l saw this as a 17 year old on BBC sportsnight that same evening it happened.....i totally high five cantona for what he did
Good sometimes fans get over the top
Did they say "Vive la France?"
They don’t make em like cantons anymore
England always had issue with racism in football hooligan crowd least family friendly sport
Bro thinks he's a philosopher😭
👍
Kick racism out of football 😂
I wondered how much the guy got in compensation 😂
I think, he asked for it!
hey he asked for it to happen
@user-wv5vc6yq7o In what world does someone deserve to be flying kicked by a professional footballer for giving him some stick?
I knew you man United fans had zero between the ears but come on 🙈
@@mickclarke5741 you don't use racist slur towards Cantona, in front of him. The guy was stupid as hell. Of course, later ,it was proved that he was a fucking fascist. The only thing that you can do when you see a fascist, is what mr Cantona did.
@@mickclarke5741
The guy kicked got fines for 500 op nd afterwards. After this he attacked the prosecuted and receiver another fine on top of that....
How does that make you look? 😂

Too light for me.
What exactly did the fan say?
Schmeichel couldn’t look any more 90s even if he had a bum bag on.
There is something seriously off about him.
Sorry, what did he say? I don't really understand.

Grandissimo.
Missed it?

😂😂😂
Cantona triggered.
capatain please?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
guy really though he was smart there, good for him
So, one question - what was the Palace fan/lout saying to rile Eric up? EDIT Sorry just read it, and he got 120 community service hours. Imagine fetching up in a Croydon charity shop and Eric Cantona is hanging up old womens dresses in the shop front as some manager bat says... 'Not that rack, Eric, for Christs sake... how many times?'
Cnut
Aw you still sore Wilkinson let him go practically for free. 😂
Anyway what happened against Southampton. Losers. 😂😂
Faut pas faire chier Canto !
Fair play Eric.....respect
He should know his place practise more , good the crowd saved him
Se offendi la famiglia di un sardo queste sono le conseguenze
He didn't "offend his family" he called him a French bastard
Certainly shut that fan up ( as he whined and blubbed to the crowd around him . Who weren't helping him >.< )
Back when football was a mans game
Peter Schmeichel - ‘great time for me to display my ego here, I’m the hard nut on this pitch. Nobody else’
What a tool.
one of the most un-sportsman like moments in sporting history.... Eric should've been banned for life after that. plenty of other talented players waiting to take his place... nearly as tragic as John Bourke of Collingwood pushing over an umpire then jumping the fence and punching out a fan. he got a 10yr ban for it which ended his career as a player.
Wow you must be a cryhard 😂
Why did that fan got to pay a fine afterwards?
No need to take crap from losers, whether you are a footballer or not; at that moment it has nothing to do with being 'sportsman like'.
@@zengerz sure sounds like you're crying harder than me.... want a tissue?
@@AVportau
Besides your crying its more than stupid to call something un-sportsman like when that supporter there had nothing to do with doing actual sports or competition. The game was not even played at that moment 😂
You might want to do some brain training and man up a bit
Not sure if banned for life, but for longer, yes.
Sportsmanship is connected with how you react to opposing players,, not their pie-eating foul-mouthed supporters.
The atmosphere was electric. You don't get that kind of atmosphere in England anymore
What he say?i dont understand cause the accent
When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea
Was there watching UTD and Eric got kicked all night but as soon as he retaliated he got sent off thanks to Southgate and his cronies.
It was a good job us UTD fans were on the other side of the pitch as that twat Matthew Simmons would never have woken up.
Typical Brits , only brave when they are 3 or more against 1😂 well done Erik.
