Made in America, Or Not Made At All. - Розваги
You know I got one when I found one. Had it for over 20 years. I am glad to see that Henry will try to help out owners of the guns that the other manufacturers made even though they don't have to. Means you care about the people as well as the firearm.
I've wanted one for a long, long time, decades, now..
Henry makes awesome guns
I had one, really enjoyed it and then gave it as a gift to someone very close to me. Easily one of the most brilliant gun designs of all time.
Love mine, Henry customer service is awesome if you ever need parts. Owned since 2017.
Man, I love this little fun gun. I keep it in my truck. Way more accurate than I thought it would be. Your upgrades to that old gun are great. Never have had a jam.
You did a very nice job on this video. Well explained and an excellent review of the firearm, its uses, and its care. 👍😁
Thank you for an outstanding video. Much appreciated. Greg
Hey thanks for explaining the peep sights, iv always wanted the AR-5 bc of the bolt action but have been studying the AR-7 for the last few years . Prices checked a few different rifles including the odd brown one at Walmart. This video finally answered all my concerns! Its very much appreciated! Thank yall
I wonder if they'll ever make a "hotter" version in .22mag.
Id like one in 10mm please
Excellent idea sir!
Nope. As it is a blowback design and the .22 Magnum is a cartridge of variable powder loading it is unfeasible.
Companies tried years ago with blowback .22 Magnums and all were failures.
@@turtlewolfpack6061 that's ridiculous. 22lr has variable loadings and as this video mentions it runs better with hotter LR rounds. Worst case scenario the new rifle wouldn't cycle the lighter loads. It just has to be designed properly, which Henry may think isn't cost effective to make for the sales they expect.
@Pentagon6519 nope. Look at all the .22 magnum rifles that failed and continue to fail. Somehow .22LR is still way easier to build a blowback for. A delayed blowback would require a complete redesign and still likely have issues.
I have one of these, as well as an original Armilite AR7. They both fit great in a soft ukulele gig bag and can be stored in a vehicle and carried around in a very "grey man" manner, if you get my meaning.
I could be wrong, but I don't think it was mentioned that a third loaded magazine can be put into the receiver and it can still be stored in the butt stock, giving a total of 3 at hand. Besides that, lots of loose rounds can be stuck here and there in all the cavities in the stock, although I recommend putting the rounds in small zip lock bags (like street drugs might come in) and just storing as many as you can that way, otherwise they fall out everywhere when you pop the cover off the stock and start manipulating the parts for assembly. The AR7 will only store 2 mags. Just remember that the added weight will impact the gun's ability to float. It's a trade off that you'll have to weigh.( no pun here 😉)
Another feature that this factory video neglected to point out, for some reason, is that in addition to the rear sight adjusting for elevation and aperture size, the FRONT sight is an easily adjustable dove tail mount that can be drifted in the field for windage. For the record, this also means that you need to be careful about banging the front of the gun around in the field and when putting the barrel back into its storage slot in the butt, because it isn't locked down, it's just a friction fit. I'm sure a drop of CA glue would lock it in place, but I want the adjustability, in the event that I have to scrounge for other ammo, if I run out in a SHTF scenario. I believe a high viz blaze orange sight is also available as an option and an accessory.
Get one of these for your trunk or behind the seat. If the opportunity to do some hunting or just family plinking presents itself, you'll be ready with a more than capable gun.
Thank you !!!
Beautiful and practical weapon system
That’s got to be the niftiest rifle I’ve ever seen! I am seriously wanting one of these … in each color, no less!!🤣
Super cool intro!
There are lots of interesting videos on UA-cam describing how to turn such-and-such a gun into a "survival gun", but this rifle is the out-of-the-box gold standard. The argument can be made about the effectiveness of a .22 LR in a survival situation, but with the right shot placement it can certainly put all kinds of meat on the table. The legalities of what that implies, though, should be considered moot if indeed your life is in jeopardy in a real life-or-death survival situation.
Thank you.
i noticed it was a supporting prop on to Russia with love James bond movie........how cool !!!!! every collection should have one .
I love mine
I bought one that came with the accessories bot not the dry box. I like the dry box.
Henry should remake the Charter Arms Explorer ll pistol to go with this US Survival rifle !!
IMHO, that gun didn't make much sense then or now. That's why it got dropped from production so quickly.
I completely agree! With the integrated rail, it would be easy to mount a small scope, making perfect as a hunting handgun. Henry could sell various barrel lengths as well
I’ve had mine for almost 7 years…
I really like mine. Accurate and reliable. Had it since about 2016. I think I paid $216 for it brand new. Just don't take the bolt out without cocking it first. Haha.
You should do a limited run on a wildcat cartridge 45 47 in a lever gun
When did Henry make the improvements like the collapsing charging handle and metal barrel cover? I bought mine in early 2024 and has these improvements/features.
I have the original version made by charter arms
Got 1.
Hey henry, just an idea. 2:00 you should
I, unfortunately, have the 1977 version from Charter Arms. I have never managed to get through a single magazine without a jam or malfunction of some kind, so it's a closet queen. My Ex accidentally stepped on it and broke the stock where it slid on. SO, LSS. I contacted Henry Repeating Arms about a replacement/fit? And, yes, they manufactured from the same design mold. I ordered one and fit with a little adjusting. Oh, it is STILL a P.O.S. as a rifle, but stowed away, again.
The ram line 25 rnd banana mags changed the rifle completely as they had a built-in feed ramp. Made the gun usable...
Can’t the action spring guide be made of metal? I’ve had one break. Henry sent me another at no charge so that’s cool, but if it were metal maybe it wouldn’t have broken.
Also known as an AR-7
@tomjefferson2024 Yes. That is what I call it.
The Armalite original is mostly referred to as the AR7. The Charter Arms licensed copy is mostly known as the Explorer and the Henry is usually referred to as the U.S. Survival Rifle. I bought the later two as they were brought to market and the AR7 was a gift from my step dad, a million years ago. The Charter arms sucks butt and I would never grace it as an AR7. Just sayin'.
@@mrhalfstep Call it what you want just as the manufacturers call it what they want but the design is an AR7 through about five different manufacturers. ArmaLite, Charter Arms, Survival Arms, AR7 Industries, and Henry Repeating Arms. Because the design is an AR7 calling it an AR7 is still correct regardless of manufacturer. An AR15 doesn't stop being an AR15 just because ArmaLite no longer makes it. Same for the AR7 or any other gun.
Also known as the James Bond gun everyone forgot about
Have one, love it. Your video, black gun, dark background, hard to see details you are trying to present.

Who's this guy? What happened to Cody?
Cody has been in the last 2 vids
Never remove the side plate >:(
Have you ever thought of making a bolt action version of this for the inevitable day when our government decides to ban all semi-auto firearms?
You should have removed the magazine first before pulling on the charging handle. Had the magazine been loaded, you would have chambered a round, forcing you to have to start over again to clear the chamber.
Nice, but price is twice as much as its worth.
how did you determine that?
@BrokenBarBox my brother has one.
These are only Accurate at about 25 Yard's. But Very Reliable
