Im a traveller from the UK that has been to both. In the most respectable way possible, honestly I’d say Pakistan.
But I think much of that is down to there not being much tourism in Pakistan. They dont see many foreigners, so they treat them like guests. Everyone pays for their food, the shop owners/vendors dont take payment. In india there are many tourists, so they get treated as tourists. It wouldnt be viable for them to treat every foreigner as a guest, because everyone would take advantage and they would just lose money. I think if Pakistan had the same number of tourists and foreigners, it would just be the same as India. There wouldn’t be as much free stuff.
Also in Pakistan again due to there not being many foreigners; everyone stops to talk to you, or is interested in where you’re from, what you’re doing there. They are more intrigued, because for manybits the first time they’ve seen or spoken to a foreigners. In India because of seeing soo many foreigners; they just get on with it, people just do there own thing and dont interact with foreigners as much. So that gives the impression that the average Pakistani is friendlier and more engaging.
But its all down to india having more tourism and them being more used to it. Thats not to say the hospitality in India isnt good, it is, I met some amazing people who offered to pay for food, or who were welcoming and engaging in conversation. I was offered tea in shops, and often at street vendors other customers would offer you some of their food.
I think generally most travellers and vloggers that have been to both countries would agree with what Im saying. And based on travel vlogs (i’d say I’ve watched at least 20/30 vloggers that have been to both countries) it seems to be the same experience I had in terms of hospitality.
But as i said above by no means am i taking away anything from Indian hospitality. It is right up there with the best in the world. It reminds me of Sri Lanka, which again has wonderful people and amazing hospitality.

Yeh hes been there before, as have many travel vloggers. Im a traveller myself, and i’d say its one of the safest countries i’ve visited, and as a foreigner/tourist i have not met a more hospitable set of people than the Pakistanis.
