also because this is a hexagon could you not say that AB is equal to CB, therefore say that the vector is CB+ 2/3 AK? or is it that the question doesn't specify whether all sides are equal?
ABCD is a parallelogram X is the midpoint of AC and Y is the midpoint of AX and W is the point on AD such that AW=2WD . AB=p . AD=3q . Express in terms of p and q . AC AY BY AND XW?
Hi - parallel vectors are the same and, as this is a regular hexagon (made up of 6 equilateral triangles). So CB and EF are the same as OA. All best S :-)
when deciding that vector CB was 'a', why wasn't it just the negative of vector AB (a-b), seeing as it is a regular hexagon so all the sides are the same length?
i guess that the last question u attempted was wrong because you considered BK as 2 even though it should have been 2/3. waiting for your reply, a confused student. .
Hi - I can see how this would be a little difficult on the video and understand you comment. To get CK = CB + BK CB = a as it's parallel to OA BK = 2/3 of AK ...... or 2 lots of ab In the video I've chosen the last 2 lots option. Although it's a great comment and thanks for the question. Best S :-)
Good day. Isn't CB=AB? and AB is = -a+b?
also because this is a hexagon could you not say that AB is equal to CB, therefore say that the vector is CB+ 2/3 AK? or is it that the question doesn't specify whether all sides are equal?
Thanks Mr.Deacon, much appreciated!

AD=3q . Express in terms of p and q . AC AY BY AND XW?
AC=3q-p
AY=3q-p/4
BY=-5p+3q/4
I am not sure about answer XW, if you know the answer please let me know about it.
for the last question why did you didn't multiply it by 2/3?
Yes, it was supposed to be 2/3.
@@rkmsartist4547 no it’s not. Since b-a is vector AB. Vector BK is twice that of AB hence the 2(b-a)
@@trif169 ohhhhh wait that makes so much more sense t
Thanks a million for the wonderful video !!!
Glad to help and all best S :-)
Hello sir,
How did you get the vector CB as a?
Hi - parallel vectors are the same and, as this is a regular hexagon (made up of 6 equilateral triangles). So CB and EF are the same as OA. All best S :-)

OMGOSCH! THANK YOU SO MUCH, I WAS ACTUALLY WONDERING THIS SAME THING! YOU GUYS SAVED THE EXAM I’VE GOT IN 2 DAYS!!!
what past paper is this from?
Thank You So Much! This video was very helpful
Thanks a lot very good explanation . I think the second answer is -3a+3b
thats wat i got at first too, but, remember, CB is the same as a, because it is a _regular_ hexagon
That pen is so sexy
genius.
Nice pen

i will be subscribing to you young man £your amazing
Glad to help and all best S
😂 Manaid young man
Nm i realised beacuse 2 parts would mean you have to multiply by 2, only in this case
That’s great - glad you got it sorted :-)
great video and a great example... tysm :)
not all heroes wear a cape
what is it for EF for part a)
i guess that the last question u attempted was wrong because you considered BK as 2 even though it should have been 2/3.
waiting for your reply,

Sir I have a question about vectors. Can you give WhatsApp number because it is in the worksheet.
Hi Usman - thank you for making contact. Please could you add any questions in the comments and I'll try to help. Best S
Sir basically I can send you a picture on messenger
Plz if you could look at it
Sorry - it's better if you post in the comments. Happy to help but, unfortunately, I can't really offer one to one at this point.
Simon Deacon
Sir
Can you open your messenger?
Just for a minute sir
Plz?
You are meant to multiply by 2/3 in the last part to my knowledge
