- In his short time on the Bassmaster Elite Series, Japanese pro Kyoya Fujita has made a huge impact via his extraordinary talent, and most notably through forward-facing sonar and finesse techniques. In order to celebrate and commemorate the first of what will likely be many Bassmaster Classic appearances, Daiwa introduced a very limited edition set of Fujita rods at the 2024 Bassmaster Classic. Here’s Chris Martin telling us about them:
What makes me mad is that my good friend Tim Carini got one!
If you got one as well, here are some reels you might consider pairing with the spinning rods:

If you didn’t get one, but want the best that Daiwa has to offer, consider the following rods:

Some incredible rods! Thanks for sharing this information! Keep up the good work!
then you find out that Kyoya came to BASS through Bank, Job and Row Boat Tournaments in Japan. That's a rabbit hole that will blow your mind, Kyoya vs Taku running and driving around a city.
I have a 76 mml and it says svf compile x??
Another question - WHY do you need a maximum sensitivity for a livescope rod???
They are targeting suspended bass with really light baits. Specifically the light jig heads paired with a small straight tailed swim bait, if I remember correctly it’s called Damiki rigging. Way too expensive for me and I don’t have Livescope but, those rods looked really light and the finish seemed super smooth.
Fishing has turned into “ the guy with the best tech wins” mentality.
What hasn’t though?
It’s all about the money and it always have been.
Fish with confidence! If you're confident in whatever gear you use, the magic will happen eventually regardless of what brand and price point. Fish on!
I like when guys buy expensive rods and reels and then spool them with braid. If you want sensitivity, buy a $100 rod and some braid and you will feel the fish breathe on it. Same with Tungsten weights.
No, you won't.
It’s like 650 on eBay
I understand having high-end rods an reels but why are the steez reels $500+ ?? I'll never be able to own one because I just can't pay that for a real much less a pair it w a rod. I like diawa but these prices are unacceptable imo
Here are some Daiwa reel options at varying price points: www.halfpastfirstcast.com/blog-gear/three-daiwa-spinning-reels-for-travelers
These rods weight the same as a single punch weight
6’L is like a feather so sensitive
This angers the F out of me! This is a company benefiting from a resurgence in spinning gear sales. All those big words are a bunch of bullshit. I use combos in the 2 to 250 range and they work awesome. Go ahead and sell your crap to doctors, lawyers, Other people who don’t know how to fish but want to look good and oh yeah, people plain crazy out of their mind, Kyoya can fish awesome with a broomstick or a cane pole
keep printing more money - not gonna surprise the rods will hit $5000 mark very soon. Some reels already a $1000.
Seems they startu g to compete with fly fishing rods and reels. Today i saw $1500 fly reel. High end fly rods are already $1000
1300? Jdm is only $600.
Crazy rod. No way im paying 1300 for a spinning rod😂
$1300.. Smoking that crack pipe. that steez better not snap like they always does and it better clean and fry my fish for $1300
I have never broken inexpensive rod. I have snapped conquest 905c, Gcraft (súper expensive jdm sea bass rod), also St croix legend tournament but never had issues with $200 rods. Extreme lightness and sensitivity always comes with prime to breakeage. Btw why usdm steez rods are made in China and jdm's are made in Japan🤔
@@БојанПавловић-е3й higher end rods use higher carbon for lightness therefore certain brand snap easily, own older steez from early 2000s snap 2 and never look back!
$1300 is ridiculous
Ridiculously priced. I’ll fly to Japan for a two week fishing trip and come back with a dozen of these at a fraction of the US price. Plus all the free sushi.
$1300!!!!! seriously
Screw....that
