Beautiful boat. I've been a fan of Dimitri's Jongue de Plaisance designs for a while (I have the site bookmarked), so it's always awesome to see them out there traveling the seas. Watching Kokachin, even when the weather gets a little sporty, I can't help but notice how composed she is. She isn't heeling hard or pounding, and her motion is slow and steady. Comparatively speaking, I've seen plastic boats violently bouncing all over the place in conditions like that. Kokachin must be a real pleasure to sail. I'll be looking at their channel in hopes of seeing more of her travels, and maybe a peek below decks.

Thanks Seafari - glad you like it - no junk rigs in Kenmare Bay as far as we know, but one or two in Galway and one in Roaring Water Bay.

Remarkable video! Always great to see more video of the Jonque de Plaisance boats. I have long been interested how they fare as long-distance cruisers / liveaboards ever since I first saw them. 😄

Thanks for your comment, glad you found it interesting. I don’t have details but there is a new owners group for the jonques de plaisance if anyone needs more detailed involvement in these beautiful boats, and a number of the owners are also members of the Junk Rig Association. Worth joining if you plan to get into junk rigged boats. If anyone is interested in how to build and sail junk rig boats, Kokachin has a small UA-cam channel, Glacier Gem, Wave Rover, SV Tapatya, SV Seeker channels and others are all about boat builders who have recently launched their own boats for long distance sailing. Or look through the playlists on the Junk Rig Association channel. Best wishes

Well done. A nice balance between detail and bigger picture - easy to absorb and inspirational. Looking forward to more.

Ahoy Kokachin. I first became aware of you earlier this year, when you were moored alongside Teulu in Falmouth. They then headed South to Cape Verde, where I seem to remember you were also moored alongside Teulu. They then turned West and sailed for the Caribbean and I've been following them on a weekly basis, but you just 'dropped of the edge of the world', so to speak. I've just found you again, but notice that this video is three months old, so I'm wondering where you are now, as Teulu headed south to avoid Hurricane season, whereas, you headed North. Fair Winds and Following Seas. Russ. Portsmouth, UK.
