    This is absolutely wonderful. I remember my uncle making fun of me the day after I gave birth that I "still looked pregnant". I feel like there ought to be more education to the public on the physiological process of having children. The weight is there to help you breastfeed, you're supposed to have that weight on you! Ot isn't even normal weight gain, you carry it in different parts of the body. It's just part of having children. There was some study that showed that some of the weight doesn't come off with breastfeeding until over one year old. We ought to as a culture not expect women to lose weight, but instead support their ability to breastfeed for as long as they want, and stop expecting women to have a body that is unhealthy for their child!

      Also your uterus takes time to shrink back to it's normal size. It's just biology, but people don't know

      Agree 100%. I chose to breastfeed for a year because that’s what’s best for my baby weight gain is only icing on the cake for my and my baby’s wellbeing! Ignore that uncle and anyone else who thinks otherwise. Mothers are super humans the world wishes they can clue in on the miraculous gift of child bearing!

    I’m 24 weeks pregnant and let me just tell you guys how scared I am to gain more weight. I was never skinny nor in a healthy weight but almost a year before I got pregnant, I was very consistent with my weightloss journey from 76kg and getting to 67kg (I’m 162cm) by changing my diet and working out constantly. I was very pleased with my effort to becoming healthy. Then I got pregnant. I was ecstatic! I always wanted to start a family with my husband and we are so excited to welcome our baby girl this May. The thing is, i am so scared because I’m almost back to my previous weight. I’m now 75kgs and my doctor told me that I will be gaining even more weight as soon as I enter my third trimester. But after watching this video, i will do my best to love my current body and will be grateful for the great things it has done to sustain mine and my baby’s life. This video made me realize that our bodies are so wonderfully and powerfully made that as long as we put the effort and discipline, we can always become healthier. I will do my best to think positively and move forward from now on!

    This was an amazing talk and really hit home for me. It took me 3 whole years to get my fitness back, but I actually got stronger and did things I could never do before, ran further, lifted heavier, more flexible etc. But for a whole year after giving birth I was very sick and in and out of hospital due to sarcoidosis. I had to take steroids and actually gained more weight than even during child birth. Part of me healing myself without the use of the steroids was a very slow and controlled path back to fitness and good food. I went to a wedding after the 3yrs and losing the 30kg, people kept asking me how I did it, what was my 'secret'? close family members actually thought I starved myself, but you don't get muscles like I have with starvation and it really hurt my feelings. When I said it was a gradual, 3yr process, working out 5x a week with variety and things that made me happy, plus learning to love a wide variety of new foods....they didn't want to hear it, that seemed like 'too long, too much work' and that made me so sad for everyone who asked. You're worth the time, you don't need to rush, who's paying you to lose weight? nobody. Do it for you and enjoy your baby, they grow up so fast.

    This is wonderful, I also chose to bounce forward, actually recently started to slowly work on my fitness, my son is now 10 months old, made the decision after I found out I was pregnant that I would choose breastfeeding and healing over bouncing back in a few weeks..... Looking back it's the the best decision ever, now I can slowly take my time to get back to my athletic self

    It takes time to bounce back, but just think use the 12-15 months to adapt and overcome. By the time your child can walk, you will have what you want. Not only that but you will rediscover who you are again!! I’m about to have baby #3 and redo this adventure all over again!! I’ve lost 50-55lbs previously from both of my sons and now I get to have a daughter and do it again!! Being a mother can be soo powerful! Change your mindset and focus on you and ur needs and wants!! 💪 motherhood makes you find a different kind of strength!!

    Thank you. Everyone should watch this. Postpartum is taboo and it is so sad. People like Emily Ratajowski showing very unrealistic pictures and like that she does lot of damage. We need people who speak about this so we won't have that many woman hate themselves because they don't bounce back 5 days after giving birth. We need Tiffiny Hall to be heard more!

    • @alekssasz9294
      @alekssasz9294 Рік тому

      plus emily ratajkowski and her alike go for tummy tuck straight after giving birth (among other surgeries), some of the "stars" or influencers actually go as far as to not seeing their baby straight after birth- they get tummy tuck first :/ I totally agree it does lots of damage because it is basically a lie. I currently nurse and "bounce back" quickly, so it is not envy that speaks through me. It is just not a standard, body during pregnancy changes, to get back where you were takes time. It is simply nature and biology. The most important in being a mother is to give love and nurture your baby. Pictures of (like the above mentioned ) Ratajkowski is appaling, considering that she poses with her newborn like it was a bag of potatoes..no focus on the child. you cant feel love. It is just narcissism and commercial for plastic surgery :/ bleh

    Loved every minute of this. There is such a stigma around this topic. I have several friends who had babies and a week later looked like they didn't even go through the 9 months and these are friends who don't exercise at all, how peculiar is that, it's genetic, just naturally thin. Then I have friends who were always active and exercised and haven't lost more than half their weight 2 years later, and some who never lost it at all but continued to gain. We are all so different. So so different. I personally burst like a balloon in stretch marks, and my postpartum body we will see, birth is in two weeks. But I will prioritize breastfeeding and pelvic floor first and foremost and then slowly build back my strength.

    Love this! Women are blessed with the miraculous gift of child birth yet we allow worldly pressures to determine our happiness. I relate with Tiffany in that I was super fit before I had my baby the only difference is that I have never cared about what others thought of me or my body. I stayed fit all my life because I loved being active not for anyone but for myself. I was incredibly patient with myself postpartum and I didn’t need a lot of effort to rebuild my strength and fitness. There was absolutely no reason to rush I had maternity leave for a year! So I completely agree, self love is key!

    Your raw presentation of how you experienced this life-changing challenge hasade me cry. I've been struggling with body image issues even more when I got pregnant. My 3yrs postpartum body is nowhere near my unmarried self. Thanks to you, I have been given a new perspective so i could see the added baby weight, and my body as a whole, as something still so lovable and even more amazing.

    This was AWESOME to hear. The pressure to conform to an unrealistic image has done more harm than good in our society, unfortunately it is woman who perpetuate this idea. When did we get so invested about what other woman think about our bodies/lives. The message of 'Self love' and the love of others (women and men) needs to be embraced. Well done and thank you for changing the script for the next generation.

    I find myself conflicted between wanting to celebrate those who “bounce back” or never even gain weight and trying to control my jealousy that they could. I gained 50-65 lbs each pregnancy, taking 18 months between each to lose it remaining stuck on the last 10-15 lbs. I wish I had heard this message sooner. Thank you Tiffany. This message needs to be shared.

      If it helps you to know this, I bounced back and had my body back after only 8 months after having my son. I posted a before and after and everyone applauded me. The truth was I had anorexia! I didn’t even realize it until I was scarily underweight. It wasn’t worth it.

    What's toxic is the expectation that everyone should have and 8 pack abs when they get old. The fitness industry is the most seedy industry I can think of and laden with false expectations, athletes on gear telling everyone their natty, and Hollywood branding these body types as heroic. I work out 6 days a week, natty, and there's NO WAY I'll look like that at 50. I look good but not like THAT. This is toxic. What is NOT toxic is working out regularly and eating right. Please DO NOT take this video as an excuse not to, you just don't need 6 pack abs and photos of you dehydrated and depleted for "definition".
