    I've been at this for 2 years and this was a great video as both a reminder about certain things and learning a couple new things. Thanks, Evan I subscribed.

    twisting wires helped me a lot especially on analog drones
    if having problems with GPS twist these cables and wrap in foil, GPS locks so much faster and more satellites as well
    for gromets to put in use dental floss (I thought that will be tip when see camera in bathroom :D)
    use locktite
    pre tinning electronics and cables as well for clean quick solder, use pasta flux (TBS flux) on everything

    Best practice I did to fly better is to set myself a track, and repeat, repeat, repeat. Fly freestyle is great, but repetition is king.

    Great video for new or old folks. Terminology correction. Pre-Soldering? No. "Pre-Tinning" is what we have been calling it the past 50 years in my world. Pre-tinning solder joints refer to applying a thin layer of solder on the metal surfaces intended to be joined together using soldering techniques. This is typically done to improve the quality of the solder connection and ensure a robust and reliable bond between the components being joined. Pre-tinning helps to enhance heat transfer, improve wetting, and minimize the potential for cold solder joints, which can result in weak or unreliable connections. Keep cranking them out I hope folks keep passing the word on all your videos!

      Pre-tinning? Everyone I know just calls it tinning.

      When Evan said pre-soldering he was referring to soldering the parts before assembling them in the frame, not tinning pads or wires

      @@JDDupuy from the transcript:
      “Tip number 2 is to always pre-solder your components. What this means is you don’t want to build your entire stack and be soldering all inside your drone. You take your flight controller out, solder your receiver to it, you solder your esc separately, you solder your receiver separately, you solder your video transmitter separately. Basically, you don’t want to be soldering in a congested environment, allowing solder balls or accidental bumps into electronics that could potentially damage them to stop you from having a successful build. Keep everything as separate as you possibly can, take your time, and your builds will come out better.”

    Awesome info just curious about the wire twisting of motor wires I've seen people braid them would this be a problem

    • @headsupfpv
      @headsupfpv  Місяць тому +1

      Technically, yes. But for most builds it does not seem to be a big enough issue to cause problems

    What about tinywhoop wire? BNFs seem to all have twisted motor wires?

      Tiny Whoop wire is such low current it really doesn’t matter apparently!

    I have a SpeedyBee F405 AIO in a Pavo 25 V2. I have to run the wires for the RX and the 03 on the side with the Gyro, which is under a heat sink. Do you think it’s enough to keep them as far away from the point with Gyro is located or find a way to run the wires on the other side? I also noticed some Jello on the 03 and wasn’t able to fix it. Do you think this could be caused by the wires running too close to the Gyro?

    • @headsupfpv
      @headsupfpv  29 днів тому +1

      This certainly isn’t helped by the wires being near the gyro. If you can find away to make sure it’s not touching that would be huge! Feel free to email me at evanturnerrc@gmail.com to check out flight footage and so forth

    Never heard of not twisting motor wires, I twisted mine to get rid of the slack from being a noob. Flies fine so far haven't noticed any weird behavior compared to before.

      It’s certainly possible to have a perfectly fine quad with twisted wires, but could help!

    Hey Evan, for ADC filter, should it also be off for simulators? I read it generally, should just always be off, that correct?

    With a temperature of 450°C, the soldering iron will easily oxidize and become dirty easily... I prefer 350-390°C to keep my soldering iron clean and the soldering results will be shinier for me.

      Does ELRS have a 100 hz mode? I haven’t seen it. I’d recommend trying a refresh rate with a preset
