Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train - A Twilight on 2023

After an errand this past Sunday took me up north of Plymouth, I decided to stick around and get a few shots of the final Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train run of the 2023 season. I would have liked to have gotten more shots, but me mistiming the train’s southbound run combined with things to do back home squished my window of time. We start at Depot Road in Thornton, just north of the reverse point at the Christmas tree farm near Robins Nest Road. We then see the train passing through the golf course and at the former Woodstock station site. The passenger car leading the shove move north is the original Cafe Lafayette car in use since the inception in the late 1980s, known as the “Indian Waters”. It is equipped with headlights, a Nathan P3 horn, and a Western Cullen Hayes crossing bell to lead northbound moves.
