I'd like to see this with a rubbermade body and a Surron motor. I think that I would have tried to make a wetsuit sleeve exhaust boot and gasket. lol... 🤙🏻
You need a stomp grate, it would probably have to be hand actuated though. Also have your crew cary a spare assembled pump, maybe two so you can try different pitches to see what works best against the current. Kawis don't like sand and grit. I have rebuilt 4 pumps for 4 different skis from the same customer because he constantly beaches in rocks/sand without a care, or sobriety. Also, when in the shallows, you want to be going as fast as possible at all times, and when it gets really shallow, always keep the boat off the keel. I mean, reaaaaaly lean it hard to one side of the other, as hard as you can without cavitating. That will create a triangle of clearance for the intake, and give you the maximum amount of water under it.
I feel like people who haven't endured a lifelong injury don't understand the importance of injury mitigation. One wrong move and you're walking with a cane the rest of your life, at best.
He should be. It bothers me to no end when people take needless risks (if youre going to do dangerous sports at least wear protection), and set a bad example for the kids who look up to them. Same goes for PPE in the shop. Nobody looks cool when they're permanently injured or dead.

The driveshaft bearing behind the engine won’t cause cavitation, even if it is leaking. Things that will cause it are: Any whitewater, a bad seal around the outside of your pump (you can use silicone for this if you don’t have a good rubber seal), the impeller to wear ring clearance being too large (likely what happened when it self clearanced), large gouges in the impeller or pump vanes behind the impeller, as well as any small rocks/weeds hung up in the pump, pump tunnel area or on the intake grate. Upgrading your pump to a Solas 12 vane pump will help with the whitewater cavitation! I think you’ve already figured this out, but it overheated and blew the exhaust coupler because cavitation creates low water pressure & lots of air in the pump which makes it so it cannot effectively send water through the cooling lines. Love the content & channel guys!! Great stuff as always.
Lmfao i was going to add a comment, about how Ethan should Really be wearing a helmet on this one. And the first comment I read is exactly that. So here's número Dos about protecting that noggin brother. Getting ko'd while navigating through rocky white water. Nothing good will ever come from that. GHP crew always sending it
I believe he weighed the risks. If you wreck with a helmet it's common knowledge you do not remove that helmet until EMS gets there then they do it a very specific way. If he needs mouth to mouth they could kill or cripple him trying to remove the helmet. Also the helmet itself poses neck damage risk with the way he's bouncing around.
@@boa2143658709 Gotta be the dumbest thing I’ve ever read. Please stop spreading bullshito, you’re hurting everyone in the motorsports community, not just yourself.
Can I suggest having a small Bouy attached to a line inside the boat? so if it gets swamped the bouy floats up and makes it easier to recover the little thing. So here's an idea for you... shove it in a shipping container and head to New Zealand, Queenstown in particular, and run it next to the Shotover jetboat tour boat (one of the largest jet boats) that carry a dozen people up & down the Shotover River. and why not hire some ADV bikes and do an offgrid tour around the place, make a working Holiday out of it & an experience you'll never forget!
Honestly it feels like letting it break rather than quitting would be the better option in regards to content as it gives them an excuse to build something else that’s going to (hopefully) be better overall

if you need a boat to follow the tiny jet, you could get one of the heavy duty inflatable jetboats with a 20-50hp outboard jetpump. the bladders conform to and bounce off rocks intead of bending or breaking.
might be advisable to redesign that drive shaft with a double joint so it can move and not crank its self into the bearing which is likely what killed the bearing
I’ve kayaked white water for decades and I’d have to say you would have had much more fun on a river with more volume. Class 3 would be doable but better flotation and a helmet are recommended. You should see if you could fit it with a nylon skid plate like you do on a dirtbike. It’ll make it slide over the rocks so much better

Great idea
Build a aluminum jet ski

That's why the underside is black, it has nylon armour to help it slide over rocks and to help stop any thing puncturing the hull.
