The reason for the "What would Thora Hird do?" was that she was a British Actress, mostly active during the 60s, 70s & 80s. But she was doing adverts for Stannah Stairlifts at the time this was on.
Max originally said the hit would cost £3,995 so he could buy the motorhome. He then increased it to 8,000 so he could pay Paddy 1,000, give the husband 3,000 and still have the 4,000 left that he needed. No continuity errors here! :)
@@Landie_Man can't work out what Noah says at 22:22 but I'm thinking he thinks maybe that 3k was money Max already had, or maybe he forgot that Max upped the price to 8k
I love the end line “right well f##k off!” Was completely off the books, you can hear the camera crew laugh. All the money is accounted for as others have stated.
When Brian is on the stairlift and gets stuck he mentions what would Thora Hird do. The reference to Thora was an actress of over 70 years, appearing in over 100 TV and film roles and in her latter years became know for an advert for certain brand of stairlift, yet she was quite a spritely lady of age and didn't need one. She went onto be in Last of the Summer Wine. She died aged 91.
Kate Robbins, who plays the ladies’ night host is sister to Ted Robbins (Den Perry) and is Emily Atack’s mum. Kate & Ted’s mum is Paul McCartney’s first cousin.

In the deleted scenes - young Kenny expresses his hatred over Keith Lard, Brian gets cross over the telephone bill, Jerry hangs out with a girl, the staff gather in the restaurant during the ladies night and open it, Kenny Senior speaks to the crime time team and Brian gets frustrated by, them, paddy buys clothes with his 1000 pounds. Les continues to fail impressing women, whilst Brian talks to Beverley. Kenny Sr takes tours of the fire scene. Then Brian gets knocked down. Features from both series.

Second comment I know but “St. Paul and the Road to Domestos” may be my favourite Brian spoonerism (Domestos is a U.K. brand that makes home cleaning products, hand sanitiser etc.). Keep up the great work, don’t get too dismayed about the channel bans.

To explain the “he shot a German in Benidorm over a sun lounger” joke, there is a stereotype that Germans wake up early when holidaying at Southern European resorts like the ones in Benidorm (portrayed pretty accurately on the TV show of the same name) and reserve the sun loungers before people from other countries have a chance to do so. It isn’t really true from my experience holidaying in such places, but it’s a common myth in European pop culture.
Absolutely. He must NEVER EVER touch Mrs Browns Boys. That said, Brendan O'Carroll (Mrs Bown) is in the first episode of Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere.
@@taffe316 okay maybe that was an overstatement, but I think it's a lot less consistent. I think the plots are a bit overwrought at the expense of the humour at times (I don't think the hitman story in this episode is very funny for example) Still great at times tbf, but S1 was so consistently hilarious. I know plenty disagree with me though!

He took £8k from the woman, paid the guy £3k, that left £5k…..he than gave Paddy £1k, so that left Max £4K to buy the van…..👍🏻
