  • Who's running big tires on their 2017 and up F150 Ecoboost or Raptor? The latest firmware for the NGAUGE now allows you to adjust the speedometer for tire size and axle ratio right on the programmer - no need for a updated tune file. Check out our site for the latest NGauge firmware download here: www.morepowertu.... There is also a guide for updating the firmware of your device here: www.morepowertu.... It's easy to do, and this video goes through the speedometer adjustment process step by step. For more videos on our projects and great how-to's, subscribe to our UA-cam channel!

I assume it will also adjust the 10 speed transmission shift points for the new tire size. Is my assumption correct? Thanks.

What will happen if I change the axle ratio?

You should be able to Google your tire size and brand, and it will tell you exactly how tall your tires are. Some 37s are slightly taller, some slightly shorter.

You have to literally measure the tires with a tape measure on the truck if you want the best results. This method has never let me down.

Could I use the Ngauge for my 2015+ 3.7 v6 tunes or do I need the SCT tuners?

Don't forget tire squish. You can use the manufacturer and google or even old school measure. We are looking for diameter so road to top of tire.

Road to centre of hub X2 for accuracy.

@Water Walker...At first, I gave thumbs up to your comment. But after giving it a second thought, it actually isn't true. This would give an accurate measurement with the wheel OFF the truck but with weight on, the lower half will be slightly less than the upper half due to the "squish." A quick online search of a tire size/speedometer calibration calculator reveals that each inch INCREASE IN TIRE SIZE results in a SPEED INCREASE of 3.41%. For each 1/2" DECREASE (for "squish") IN TIRE SIZE, it results in a SPEED DECREASE of 1.52%. So, the good news is, if you just put in the overall diameter, the "squish" will result in a slightly lower speed than what your speedometer is reading (better than the other way around from a speeding ticket perspective).

Wow! Easy peasy!! I have the N Gauge (from 5 Star). Getting ready to swap stock tires and rims (along with leveling kit). This will make it SOOOO much easier! Thanks for the quick vid!
