XOP missed the mark here. They needed to get this stand to $300 and theyd have sold a metric shit ton. Sometimes volume makes up for price and XOP forgot that here. The vanish evo is the offering that matches price and mobility for accepting it being made in china. Once we get to $400 you might as well bite the bullet and buy the LWCG. Its not like average mobile guys buy multiples of these stands.
Great comparison J! LWCG coming in with better in-stand mobility while still weighing less. I don't know why a guy wouldn't spend the extra $100, keep his money here in the states, and have the better crafted, designed, and thought out system.
I wish someone (krhmm hmm krhmm) would make a video where they actually shoot from these small stands. Can you shoot straight away from the tree seated down, can you turn while sitting, how hard is it to stand up with bow in hand and lift the seat up with the other. Also would be great if you showed with tape measure where the given dimensions are. Like how much is from the tree bark to edge of the seat etc. We're about same size and shape so these reviews are great, probably going to buy the .5 soon and get last hunts of the season on it.
I'm looking to order .5 just not sure on post length and seat size . Definitely not the mesh seat . Going to saddle hunt out of it and just regular tree stand hunt . I'm 5 11 200 pounds. . Any help would be great .
Which one sets to the tree easier ? I know the .5 can sometimes be a pain to get it right especially when your 17 ft up in a tree and trying to be quiet.
Id say they both setup very similar, Ive never had an issue setting the .5 on a tree before. If I had to choose one that is better id go with the lwcg since is has the reverse tooth design.
I feel like I woke up from a coma and lw hang on stands are $500 personally I’ll never pay that to kill a deer - have two old lonewolfs and hanging hooks and the xop air raid
I can’t remember if you said it in the video… but the post heights… I think the biggest difference in height, other than the seat pad, is where and how they attach to the platforms. The XOP is bolted into welded on tabs… and the lwcg stand the post sits down into the platform where it’s bolted on.
Just appreciate how in depth you go, pointing out every detail no matter how mundane it may seem. I’m still pretty set on purchasing a Beast Stand but I still enjoy watching your stuff.
Has anyone measured the actual seat height of either the retrograde or cold world?? I like the size of the retro but sold my .5 bc of the low seat. Wouldnt mind trying the retro if i knew it was 20" or so. Its definitely higher than 18", that or the .5 is lower than 18". Anyone know which it is???
The older stands have the “sharper” edges but I have noticed with mine I got last yr, they have the updated finish, and the edges are finished down much better.

for sure, I have my lone wolf a 2 that I killed several deer out of. I will keep that stand forever!
What’s even crazier is the beast stand is all around bigger than both and weighs the same.
pretty close, the beast stand is 6.8 bare and the LWCG is 5.8lbs bare.

The reto is higher than 20" the .5 is 18. You can get a .5 with a taller post though. I have the 22" post on mine and love it.

Yes, the edges are sharp from the finish. I noticed my hands kind chewed up like having bass thumb lol and the seat straps are cutting already.
I hate big seats on loc ons, .5 seat wins it for me
I put the .75 seat on my .5 and I like that a lot better.
