    The I’ll Feel a Whole Lot Better cover was the best part of the video. Awesome sound and performance!

    I owned a mapleglo 1997 many years ago. Words cannot described the regrets of having sold it in 2005. This model (1993Plus) is now on my bucket list for the next year.

      I’ve had a pre-order since July 2022. Last build was Feb 22, and it was supposed to be produced in Dec 22, but was pushed back. Now it’s looking like April/May 23 now….maybe.

    This guitar is absolutely awesome , it sounds compressed here unfortunately , I just bought one inJetglo black , it is one of the most versatile rhythm or 12 string guitars I have ever heard and played ... hat's off to Rickenbacker for an amazing instrument....

      You can also thank Pete Townshend for his input on designing this model. I'm considering getting one myself.

      I think thats just the tone, they use really good mics, im not sure though.

      The sound of this guitar is way more complex and rich. Seems that this is trying to use only a treble booster setting; and yes, it is either clipped at recording or heavily compressed and distorted on the high end somehow

    Thanks for playing this with a bit of overdrive - not everybody is looking for crystal clear as the only tone out of a Rick 12.

    Cool guitar. Painfully bright recording. Rickies are not shrill! Too much amp breakup too for the amount of treble dialed in. Maybe a redo is in order.

    I’ll never be able to afford a Ric.
    Hand down no other guitar sounds like a Rickenbacker 1993 12 string.

    Although I love the sound of a Rickenbacker dimed, I would also like demos that used the tone controls more. I mean, isn’t the reason they design the guitar with extra fidelity is so that there is room to scale back the treble to balance it with the amp to personal preference? I have noticed that Ricks seem to adjust very gradually and the pickup selector retains the basic tone just ads or removes bass and treble as opposed to other guitars which seem to change the sound completely when the selector is moved.

    amazing guitar

  • @Nathan_Wolf7779
    @Nathan_Wolf7779 8 років тому +1

    I'm not blaming the guy but the amp setting is not giving that piece of art justice. Yes Ricks are very bright and jangly but only when you want to hear is beauty overdrive or any of sort should never be used... If you're looking to buy a Rick please don't go off this video. Yet at the same time I love CME! Many of my gear is from them! =]

    Rickenbacker should offer this guitar as a 6 string and with two pick ups. 12 strings sound is to limiting.

    • @adrianseifi3285
      @adrianseifi3285 8 років тому +1

      Definitely, but if you can't wait (if they ever will make one) you can always remove six strings and ta-dah you have a six string.

    • @JohnMcKLV
      @JohnMcKLV 2 роки тому

      a 360 or 330 with toasters will give the same sound.

    • @Jeffcatbuckeye
      @Jeffcatbuckeye 2 роки тому

      Limitations are more on the player. You would be shocked by how versatile a 12 string can be. Likewise, they make 6 strings in most all of their models, albeit this one is not but if you want the wider nut, you can get a 660 6 string.

    Ditch that damned distortion. The Who never added distortion to the jangly 12-string. Np pedals, just plugged straight in.

    Its the roundwound strings guys....
    They're too tinny & nasally, especially on single coil pickups !
    You need flatwounds to get a true 1960s sound.. Otherwise, a beautiful, typically expensive reissue.

    Terrible recording, it's sad but true. This is an amazing guitar, a great amp, and a decent player; it's how it was recorded. Very overloaded. Play this into a Jangle box or compressor and it will sing with rich and shimmery tone. Don't overdrive the amp very much at all. Now, these are very under-rated as rhythm guitars but they are thunderous! Full and powerful, not tinny and harsh like here. You have to dial in the sound you want and not crush the mic, CME. You guys should know this :( Please redo this vid.
