Hey, nice video! Good info here. This is an option for me right now but I have not 100% decided on it yet. There are things the Yoga 2 has that I don't really need but are kind of nice. I just need a small laptop for traveling that I can edit photos in lightroom/photoshop and some video on premiere. I know you mentioned that scaling doesn't work with all applications but do you know if it works on adobe software?
Hi :) Im having a hard time choosing on what to buy, the lenovo yoga 2 pro or the surface pro 3 ? I do vid editing a lot and i use a lot of apps(spotify, chrome, word, editing app). Thanks!
kirstennot10 I think the Yoga 2 is better since using the keyboard would be much easier. You dont have to worry about it wobbling if your using it on your lap haha
Sometimes I like to use it plugged-in on all the time like desktop, I wonder how the battery life will last while plugged most of the time. My previous laptop I can removed the battery while plugged-in to save it from wear/tear. Thanks nice video.
I like this laptop but I don't know why. The Asus UX303ln has better specs and is similarly priced to the higher end configurations of the yoga 2 pro. I'm stuck
PridPakistan2011 I actually ended up getting a macbook pro retina 13. After 20 years of using Windows I wanted a change. If I had to choose now I would go with the asus because I really wouldn't make use of the tablet mode on the Lenovo and I have an Asus N550jv for gaming and I've never had issues with it. The new Dell XPS 13 looks promising too.
Thinking of buying this but looks like I'll only be able to afford this with an i3 processor I would only use it for surfing to web Netflix and maybe a few games would an i3 processor be ok with this?

Lol I have a smaller version, the thing is I got it for my birthday and got a mouse for it but can't open it. They set it up and ever thing but can't use it until my birthday :(
as high res as the display is, its not a typical RGB pixel arrangement as it rocks a pentile display. it may not seem to be much a problem and it isn't unless you are as picky as me because i didn't really like the display because of that. pentile displays tend to makes things a little blurry when looked closely (not just distance but also like when u stare at the same thing over time) and it may not give u the full color definitions of things on the screen. other than that, i really liked it but because screen's quality is more important to me than res, i returned it. just my 2 cents.
I've Yoga 3 Pro but I didn't like it because of the low life battery. I thought the Yoga 2 Pro was worse but it seems is way better than the last version.
I did not experience any 'problem' although the wireless card is 2.4Gz only (not 5.0Gz / ac). However it costs about $30 for a replacement wifi card and takes about 10 minutes to replace.
It's not an "issue" so much more as its not as strong as it should be. You wouldn't need to worry, but you can upgrade it manually by changing the network card to a dual band or ac card (you have to make sure you get the correct one)
Thanks for the video! I was able to track one of these down for $458. otd. Refurbished. It's core i5, 4gb, 128 ssd version, is on the way now and will be in hand before one week. I already, though, have the Yoga 2 (not pro), with 8GB ram and 128gb ssd, same Hazwel core i5, 1080p res, and larger 6cell battery. I'm now selling my yoga 2 (not pro) on ebay for $500. but it seems like a bummer to go from 8gb ddr3 back to 4gb and from 6 cell to 4cell battery as well as loosing the better color accuracy on the 1080p panel of the yoga 2 (not pro). However, looking at your wallpaper on this review, I instantly forget all about the other 4gb, 2cells, slightly off yellows, because even when viewed from 1080p youtube video that panel looks utterly gorgeous. Thanks again for showing off the tech and looking forward to getting the one I ordered.
Not much issue with scaling, at least not for all the basic stuff I use it for. I hear about Photoshop having tiny text though. I got this deal from BestBuy's aftermarket site. Sold the i5, 4gb 128gb version on Ebay and getting this one with i7, 8gb, 256. Be sure to pick one that includes the AC adapter if you do. www.cowboom.com/product/1555862/
Bought the i7, 8gb version.. Horrible laptop, WIFI was bad, it lagged sometimes and the touchpad just plain sucks so make sure you test it before you buy. I returned it 2 days later and got a refund.
Leopold Martinez All things considered the i5 model with 256GB SSD is the same price as the 13" MBA with a 256 GB SSD. The difference between the two is MBA has slightly better graphics. However for the same price you're getting 8GB RAM and a touch screen with the ability to fold the laptop into a tablet form factor. So this is actually the better buy.
I have had my yoga for about 3 weeks and I have zero issues, all around solid performer. I would recommend.

Do you use your laptop to do video editing or music production?
my computer of same size , model and type the screen is broken (yoga 2 lenovo black 13 ich, how can I get its spare part?
how often does the fan comes on?
I noticed it doesn't have the DVD player.. Is there an option to buy it separately or to have it built in? :)
Yes, you can buy an external DVD player, but Ultrabooks don't have them built in at all to keep the form factor.
Check your wifi card number in your devices menu - my yoga has the newer card - bought it 2 weeks ago at best buy
How long will the battery last if i use only internet and office word?
Hi :) Im having a hard time choosing on what to buy, the lenovo yoga 2 pro or the surface pro 3 ? I do vid editing a lot and i use a lot of apps(spotify, chrome, word, editing app).
Thanks!
I forgot to mention i use all the apps i mentioned at the same time (my school gives us a lot of projects) :)
I would go with lenovo yoga 2 pro
kirstennot10 I think the Yoga 2 is better since using the keyboard would be much easier. You dont have to worry about it wobbling if your using it on your lap haha

can you put dvds in there or discs?
Sometimes I like to use it plugged-in on all the time like desktop, I wonder how the battery life will last while plugged most of the time. My previous laptop I can removed the battery while plugged-in to save it from wear/tear. Thanks nice video.
hey wonder what stylus would be perfect for this device

Lee M I'm stuck as well, either this or UX303LA. Which one did you end up with, and was it a good choice?

Lee M
I see, thanks for the quick reply anyways :) I'm not gonna use the tablet mode either, so I'm leaning towards Asus ux303la
Can you put the specs of this Yoga in the information pane?

This or the Dell Inpsiron 13 7000 (i'm talking the 4gig RAM, Intel I3 version with 500 gig hard drive)?
Great review man.
Could you link the product next time (on amazon) just makes it easyer
Thinking of buying this but looks like I'll only be able to afford this with an i3 processor I would only use it for surfing to web Netflix and maybe a few games would an i3 processor be ok with this?
Yea, just dont play too heavy games
Thanks ive got it now and its perfect and it handles games suprisingly well
Good to hear :) Im also gonna buy it, but the i7, 8 GB and 256 gb ssd :)
Its a really good laptop but i cant even imagine what it would be like with an i7 processor so jealous of you :)

I gave the 250th 👍 thumbs up oh I have a question is the app store any good and could I use playstore?
You can use bluestacks to emulate android

Great review helped me so much thanks!
Shout to Lenovo for making a beast of a laptop/tablet it's perfect for me (student)
Orange or silver??? I am so indecisive!

Very good review keep up the good work
thanks for the review!
The more I find out about this laptop the more I'm leaning towards buying it

is there a wifi problem??? people saying there is and don't buy it???

I contemplating buying the yoga 2 pro used over the yoga 2 13 4210u as well. Do u still have it and was it worth it. Do u have any scaling issues :P

Will Autocad run well with this?
Manoj Nair You'd be best off buying something with a dedicated OR discreet graphics card. Something with a bit more grunt.
Nice! Reminds me Minority Report, with the hand gestures.
Nice review. Thanks!
Is this computer virus prone?
I love your video. Thanks.
It really is an awesome "ultrabrook"
Seeing a 6 year old comment misspelling "ultrabook" really puts a smile on my face.
Bought the i7, 8gb version.. Horrible laptop, WIFI was bad, it lagged sometimes and the touchpad just plain sucks so make sure you test it before you buy. I returned it 2 days later and got a refund.
Temple run?
Your hand gestures were all wrong.. Take a look at the directions again and it will work for you.
Wayan Wiednya - no clue what you refer to. Maybe he is Italian and "speaks with his hands"?
Try watching this with sound turned OFF (-:
In Love
Cool
need to worry about the money
i got a yoga 2 pro. and i fucking hate this shit.
Sean Perman you cant say you hate it without a reason
my old account dont look, Ikr years later I'm still waiting for a reason...
very costly
Yeah, but its cheaper than the price of buying a tablet AND a laptop, and does a better job at being both :D
bro then also Maybe i can afford it but its not for a common man..........
yeah but think about what people pay for macs that arent even half as powerful as this babby.
yeah
