Shame he just didnt stay on it a bit longer when it was hauling ass! A better test would of been a 60mph roll to take traction and lag out of the equation
@@WeirdBrick Yeah ideally 3rd gear pull at higher starting speed would have been better for both cars, that way Rick would have had less wheel spin and Calvin would have been in boost.
If yiu can't tell by now Calvin is not the best driver, doesn't even know how to brake boost... Didn't even know it was possible to mess up with a dsg simple push pedal and go

@@ItzD3fW1sH why would it?! They found the problem at V Max when they overheated it. They have now fixed it with a cooler and oil temps back to normal.
Add some corners, the m4 with traction off will be in a ditch. Point to point the R is much more usable

The bmw only has the rear wheels driven so it will always be easier to get off the line faster so not a fair fight. A fwd gti like clubsport S would be far more fairer with power upped to calvins level.
@@fatwalletboy2 off the line in a drag race the bmw would not get off the mark quicker at all.

Really good vid and you two work well together. The Golf has the legs on the M but tuning boxes have come a long way to give the gains to make it just as capable.

@@mrmahmood3837 that's kind of obvious surely?! The bmw stock rolls of the production line at roughly 430ish bhp and the golf at the time at about 290 bhp! Huge differences in starting points?! Also the BMW with let's say for example modified throws out 700bhp for instance if Ricky modded it.... How do you think it would get on laying down 700bhp down on the road on a cold damp winters day or a salty road etc....? Ricky was struggling even with the tuning box off!! Imagine if it was raining! Although it would be interesting on a warm dry day with some track day semi slicks or summit on!! That would be a great video!!
bmw4 life, I’m not disputing if you put mods on the bmw, but this videos content was stock m4 v’s 600bhp golf, the excuses rick was coming up with were laughable, I’m surprised they didn’t include , grass clippings, ants, and banana skins on the road for bad launch or in gear acceleration.

Rick you should have tried 3rd gear when the R was in second as the torque is mega and you can get the power down better. I’m always up a gear in my M4 CP running a DMS 540bhp tune with MP Exhaust. Lower gears loads of traction issues!

Both mighty machines both delivering different experiences different sensations......to really drive a rear wheel drive M car though you need to use all your skills. The 4wd cars are point and squirt.
