If things aren't selling we have to reevaluate what we are selling and seeing if it really is a good selling item or not. Things like certain board games or puzzles that require time to check I now avoid. Shoes that require work to clean. Items that seem a bargain but don't really make much after fees are not worth wasting. It's better to save the one pound here or there and buy the better item with bigger returns. Because there's nothing worse than accumulating stock and spending time listing and storing. Sure some items we learn from and if they are cheap enough the lesson pays. The answer is finding stock which folks want. Sticky stock is a lesson that we need to shift our focus and see what the s selling well.

When I buy on ebay i take no notice of promotions,seller ratings, postage speed etc - if you have what i want and are the cheapest on ebay/amazon i buy it - if not i dont - i also sell a few items here and there and find its rare to get a sale unless you send an offer - i think a lot of people have wised up to watching an item and see if an offer comes through from the seller - i do the same as a buyer

My ebay has been quite consistent. It just depends what you sell. I list 20 items a day 5 days a week so are consistent with my listing which i think helps.
always dead this time of year, mothers day followed by easter followed by may bank holidays, people are totally skint taking the kids out too

Are you really not allowed to use alcohol boxes?? Working in a bar I frequently find myself using them. I usually wrap the outside with black shrink wrap before sending.
I’m sure I read it in the past year or so, but, as usual I can’t find it anywhere now!
If you bought the clothes from a house clearance i.e. to resell rather than wear, how can you claim they're 'private' seller items?
We didn’t buy them. The house clearance is a favour for a friend who has been put in a home. Items being sold are to help pay for her care, along with the sale of her house. I clearly said these were personal sales, didn’t I?
I've found whatnot is killing ebay on clothes my clothes on ebay can be on for weeks even when there new with tags.i watch that whatnot and there selling clothes for a pound so I carnt compete with that.i don't have the confidence to do whatnot so im thinking of stopping ebay to.good luck on yours enjoyed your video

Not sure if you have made it to the Potteries yet. Stone, Stafford, Trentham or Leek are nicer to stay than in the centre of the potteries. Let me know if you are still planning a trip and I will message you on another platform 😊

I turn alcohol boxes inside out. They are so strong it's worth the faffing about. I might try to find a few contacts in the village I live in!

From someone who does to majority clothes. EBay has died thanks to the free private seller fees. I’m selling more clothing on vinted than eBay. No point anymore doing clothing on eBay. I’m now sourcing other things I wouldn’t normally source for eBay
We live in Stoke on Trent and I am ashamed to say I would not recommend staying in the city it’s a a shit hole but worth visiting Portmeirion Wedgwood Burleigh ware and Emma bridgewater the potteries museum in Hanley and the Gladstone pottery museum are also worth a visit but stay in Cheshire somewhere 😊

Sales are shocking ...i think its good to say when its rubbish ....this month has been the worst...but when i looked at last year its similar ...hipefully it starts to pick up for us all

What a lovely video- your house and garden are lovely. I sell home wares and clothing but clothing is really quiet on eBay. Might sell clothing on Vinted Pro when it comes around and keep an eye more on trends rather than labels. Otherwise think ‘shopping’ for your eBay shop works, so you have a story to tell in what you’re selling.

Re: Stoke/Potteries. I recommend Trentham Gardens as a nice place to look round, shopping village and Italian gardens with a garden centre and nice food/drink options. And a monkey forest! Stoke is made up of 6 six towns so not one big centre. Seek out the factory shops - there’s a good Portmerion one off London road in Stoke town. Newcastle under Lyme pretty good for charity shops and a nice market town. There’s also Stone and Stafford to the south which are less industrial.

Your interactions with the Aiwa buyer sounds like it could be a switcheroo. Some people will buy a bundle of stuff and switch out one or more items e.g. a remote control, then make up fake reasons for a return. It's strange that he told you to get a replacement part on Amazon - this might be the actual part (one one of them) that he wanted. Really enjoyed the tour!

Beautiful house - my ideal is a house in the country with green and birdsong. I live near the coast which is lovely but I miss trees as they all die because of the wind.
Sorry your sales are slow - I was inspired by you to go into china and breakables and had the best weekend ever - but that was down to one lucky pick up on Facebook Marketplace which I split out and it sold in hours. My clothing is not shifting.
Genuinely pleased to hear about your sales. I love the coast and always wonder what it would be like living at the seaside. The one thing I’d add here is a little stream, that would be lovely although Luna would be constantly in it 😁
I used to have 20+ parcels going out on a monday and now with no changes to how I work I am lucky to have half that. Odd occasions it will be good but no where near what it used to be like. I get all my boxes from a pet food warehouse, good variety of sizes and some double wall. If you got one go check it out, have to put up though with going when it has not been raining...unless you get one that has a lid on their recycling bin (which mine hasn't), feel like buying them one with a lid as I am in Northern Ireland and it is only 6 miles away but even in that distance it can downpour with rain haha.

For the potteries we went to emma bridgewater which was still quite pricy, the portmeirion / spode factory shop is awesome and I would say quite big and its not far from Trentham Gardens which I recommend for a nose around. Parking at Trentham Gardens and the portmeirion / spode factory is good, the parking at emma bridgewater is a scruffy car park at the back (unless its been updated since we went) which we were not sure if we could park at. Have fun I love pottery.

That was a lovely video and shows the downside of reselling at times. Didn't like the hornet in the barn hope there isn't a nest. Hope you enjoyed the BBQ food, it looked tasty even though I don't eat red meat but it doesn't bother me - each to their own.

I know resellers who make a good living from selling clothes (on ebay), but they also have to give refunds for lovely dresses which have obviously been worn to a function/wedding, but DSR demand they have to. I just can't be bothered to find, launder, list and refund clothes.
Totally agree with the refunds i sell clothes myself and i get like 2 or 3 refunds a month (not every month) but thats out of about 350+ sales. and to be honest i think i got about 17 returns in the whole year, dont get me wrong it is a hassle and the buyers always want to pull a fast one but the sales does out way the returns and make it worth while. When i first started i use to sell everything but i quickly learn listing clothes is hell alot faster and hassle free then listing random things. i know everyone hates listing but thats part of being on ebay and if you had to choose i'll pick clothes to list its less of the evil. hahaha This is just my personal opinion by the way just before i get some major back lash for selling clothes lol
It’s EBay who say you must accept a return for any old reason, you don’t need to refund for a used item unless faulty by law.
@@Lomie32 by law but in ebay law if a customer opens a return "item doesnt Fit" you have to give refund if the item is returned in same condition. you cant just not refund customer if they have paid to return the item. unless it comes back destroyed.
@@Lomie32 If you are selling as a business, you have to abide by the Distance Selling Regulations. And if you have a difficult buyer, they will just tell ebay there is a faulty zip, missing button or whatever. It's a minefield. I'll leave selling clothes to the experts!
