  • How’s your axe throwing game? In this video I compare quite a few world axe throwing league axe handles and show the differences in each handle and how much they seem to differentiate between each other. I talk about the last 3 axes I reviewed and how great each was for axe throwing. We also unbox the calculated survival tomahawk and go over key features. And we finish it out with the next free axe! I go into a deep dive about how I do my axe reviews and the reason I go into such an extensive process with each axe!
    Axe throwing! My axe throwing is based on primarly using work axes or axe tools to throw in real world environments. Join me as I embark on this journey to provide my knowledge of axe throwing! Tips, tricks and fundamentals to get you out there throwing with confidence and accuracy!
    I also cover my passion for design work! Anything from complete axe head designs to redesigns that change the weight or the look of the axe head all together but still creating a functional axe! Handle design and finishes, custom builds and tools I use are just a few other things I do on this channel too!
    I test and review axes ranging from high end to common axes you find in your local hardware store! All of my reviews are done with an honest opinion regardless of manufacturer. No BS, no bias opinions here. The real truth on axes and throwing axes!

    Axe. lol that opening is awesome! There is a definite difference in throwing in the style of competition throwing like in WATL and what I call, Combat Throwing, which is what I would consider the style of throwing that you do. A more real world application style of throwing. With the more pro versions/competition axes from WATL they are doing handles to where you can modify them, by cutting them to a length that feels good to the thrower. And, by the way, you can just buy some of the WATL axe heads by themselves. I appreciate the way you do the reviews so I can see what it can take and if it may work for what I want to do with it. Keep up the great work.

      I appreciate the comment! And I would totally agree with your first statement. I normally buy the entire axe because it’s cheaper in some places than just purchasing the axe head from watl.

    The Ragnar is very popular along with Infinity axes at league

      I saw the infinity axes awhile back. Interesting designs. I was intrigued when I saw them.

    My Axe throwing is on hold, due to the fact that my Axe Target is buried under 2 feet of snow. Maybe April. and of course AXE That is why I like tomahawk handles with the one degree eye and handle. That helps me keep the head of the hawk, aligned with the target.

      @MidgardAxe  12 днів тому

      Man that’s alot of snow! And I also like a good tomahawk handle for axe throwing.

    Yep the handles can be ordered square or oval and are specifically designed for the head. The ones I have seen are very dry. Many have custom handles made for them and most are laminate and square as a lot of the throwers do the the Canadian flick even when throwing Big Axe (handles have to be over23 inches and axe heads have to be over3lbs thrown from at 15 ft or more

    • @MidgardAxe
      @MidgardAxe  12 днів тому +1

      On most of these I ordered, they either didn’t give me the option to pick the style handle I wanted or it said oval. I know most probably use other handles on their heads for competition throwing. I’ll just keep using different handles to find which ones work well for those heads.

      @ I have to work on the factory handles for them to feel right and have a whiskey river handle waiting for when I need it. I like a 17 inch handle . Thanks and always look forward to your videos

      @@halffullmontyI plan on using a whiskey river handle for the Ragnar axe.

    My guess is WATL does different handles on purpose. If you look on their website for replacement handles you pick round or square, then you have to pick the particular head you have. I originally thought that was for differences in the eye size and shape but this vid makes me think maybe they are supposed to be different handles altogether. I have a Butcher and my wife has the Queen of Hearts, and a replacement handle she went ahead and bought, now I have to go compare them

      I will say the ones with different handles on them are hafted a bit better then the ones that come on the Ragnar and king of diamonds. Feel better in the hand in my opinion for how I throw. I’m about to go outside and start filming on one of the different handled WATL axe. We shall see how it holds up.

      You may enjoy it! I always try to do my best to try and determine if it’s just my personal opinion that I don’t care for the axe or if it’s just not a good axe. And I think this one is just my personal opinion. I didn’t care for it all that much but it could be just me. I guess we will find out when one of you get it or if someone else chimes in that they enjoy it for chopping and axe throwing.
