I really love your video format. I'm going to stay and watch the whole thing, but I appreciate that you respect your viewer's time. Please keep up the great work!
I started as a fighter and it was fine. Though I got a warrior pretty fast, and switched to archer only for one quest. There was a time when I played as mystic yeeter to just level it up enough to use it as an addition to warrior in warfarer vocation. And I can tell, multiclassing warrior and spearman is a menace to society. My pawn though have never leaved the mage vocation, I tuned her to be an ultimate support, with weapon enchantments, buffs, heals and a light spell to annihilate undead while illuminating the whole nearby area. It's so perfect, that I don't even want to change anything.
With the thief Maister ability you can 100% dodge all damage with stamina. You can specifically target weak points with gut and run or its upgrade. You can dominate all big enemies with spin to win. You can dominate all basic enemies with a ring that adds backstab dmg, coupled with twin fang you can one shot tackle most small mobs to the ground. Running warrior, mage, archer pawns im dominating basically everything in the desert so far and ive downed multiple drakes at lvl 25.
I gotchu dude! There's some really cool themes you can run with.. Like arcane archer, two archers, and a mage. So much mobility, healing, boons, and ranged dps. Or I thought of mystic spearhand, mage, and two sorcerers for a pure magic party or at least magic oriented. Sorcerers help each other cast, mages heal, you go wild
@@banriswirl6414 if fully charged, it actually has a decent aoe component to it! as well as starting a heal over time for yourself and the burst heal too if the pawn you targeted is close enough
@@lewdfreak yeah I've been testing magic Archer as a healer and it's ridiculous. Shoot straight down to heal yourself. The heal is bloody huge. It'll fully top up any pawn I've run with at range with a short cast time. And if they happen to die? Picks them right back up. Magic Archer is a much better healer than mage. You do not need a mage at all if you bring magic Archer.
The reasons you listed for Thief are why I made my main pawn a Thief. Also because I feel like it’s the least chosen vocation for pawns (probably because the AI can’t get the max potential out of it as easily as it can for other vocations) and therefore will get rented out more.
I love the archer, but after playing Horizon I don't think the bow feels as good as that. Its also weird going back to no adaptive triggers after you get used to them on ps5 games.
I know it probably isn't the best, but i LOVE Fighter. Getting parries and then doing a critical hit feels so good. After i get some augments, I think I might stick with it
I'm playing archer and quite enjoying it. What sucks sometimes is the enemies (especially the bigger enemies like ogres) will ignore my pawns and come straight after me for some reason. Like what's the point of playing a distance fighter if you can't keep distance cuz the enemy does that?
There's an augment for the thief that reduces your aggro as well as a fighter augment that increases aggro. Use both of them accordingly and you'll pretty much never get hit
So what you'd need here is the augments that enhance the aggro of your pawns and decrease your aggro. So you'd want fighter and warrior levels to get that on your pawn..and some. Thief levels to get that on yourself!
Dont forget the mage can also cast celerity if ur weapon is sheathed and are trying to run from point a to b spam the help button and the mage will cast it and greatly increases movement speed and action speed. Im sorry but mages are mandantory for me (as a support pawn). Also try not to use Magik vocations and strength vocations on the same character cause it will fuck your level scaling
First Game: Sorcerer was my main followed by magick archer>Strider>Ranger This Game has me playing sorcerer because I love magic elemental classes. BUT Ranger has the best playstyle because foraging everything making explosive/tarr/poison/drenching arrows really feels like your a hunter trying to survive in a dangerous enviornment. I was killing boss at low level cause I picked up EVERY Sunbloom and branch having max explosive arrows. Plus oneshoting using head shots is always fun.
The stats you gain when you level up are permanent and scale with the vocation your playing at the point of leveling up. So if you think you prefer playing something specific, it would be better to stick to your preferred class early when your gaining a lot of levels and then swap around later. As an example, I want to play as a sorcerer, so I am starting out as a mage for the first many levels so I'm gaining most of my stats in magick while leveling up is frequent. At some point I do for sure want 2 points in Fighter for Mettle, but I'm waiting for a while to get this so I don't end up with a bunch of strength that will be useless for me later in the game. The damage you gain from being smart about this is greater than what you can gain from any damage boosting augmentation, so just be aware of that, though you aren't gimping yourself to the point where the game is unwinnable by swapping around as you please, so if that's more fun to you then play how you like. For me, min-maxing is a big part of the fun.
I will definitely start as a Fighter as that looks to be the most fun of all the starting vocations though the Thief also seems pretty cool too. But I will be going for Mystic Spearman ASAP, that's by far the coolest and most badass one I've seen, like if a Sith Lord was in Dragons Dogma. Also looks incredibly versatile with plenty of options for mobility and ranged attacks too. And did I mention it looks cool as hell 😁?
I've been playing for around a week now, more or less evenly split between Fighter and Archer and liked both. But after maxing Archer I decided to try out Thief and oh boy, OH BOY. I almost feel like I'm cheating with how quickly I can burst down bosses, let alone trash mobs. Add in the super easy to get Formless Feint to have a literal god mode as long as you can juggle the stamina drain and toggle it on/off when needed? I'm still going to try everything I can, but I can't imagine anything else being this powerful.
I’ve been using mystic spear hand a lot but it just feels very weak, I’ve got good gear but the damage just feels lack luster, I’m not sure what I’m missing.
I'm having a MISERABLE time with Archer, but I gotta push through to get that extra damage in vital points. Mystic Spearhand is by far the most fun I had, specially since it plays exactly like Nero from DMC5 mixed in with a bit of Vergil with the time freezes, and the stabs you can do at vitals while standing on top of the monster are absolutely TERRIFYING! I was literally One Shotting a Cyclops with that from lvl 20 even without that extra damage in vitals, took 2 health bars from a Griffin! Mystic Spearhand if you master it is absolutely bonkers.
@@italianspartacus I just discovered what the problem was. While grinding I was using the Medusa's Bow. That bow has two hidden effects: one, it makes your skills consume A LOT MORE stamina, that's why I was running out of stamina after every skill even when full stamina; two, it increases the xp you get from kills by A LOT, so much so that while getting my archer vocation to rank 8, I leveled from lvl 40 to 49, getting 3 levels ahead of my pawn. I had no idea the Medusa's Bow had that effect, that explains why it was so painful. At least it's over now. I just now gotta figure out if the way to min max the Mystic Spearhand is which smithing school to go with, in doubt I'm using the human style since it's balanced, but when I learn how to actually min max it I'm swapping weapons if need be.
Tried sorc for the first time last night and it felt like i was dealing absolutely no damage, i might be doing something wrong, but atm, id rather have a mage
Does it mean that you'll be much weaker if you just stay with one vocation your entire playthrough? Wonder if that defeats the idea of multiple playthroughs because you will have to level up multiple vocations in every "campaign" if you wanna optimize your character.
Trickster is the best tank in the game once you figure it out because fighter and warrior are limited by your health. Trickster is not limited by that since the mirage is not real and can be recast or healed to full HP. Trickster is NOT easy, high skill floor and higher skill ceiling. I want to say that I am NOT good with the trickster and generally fail at mirage tanking but the one time i did really well, my party and my character took zero damage. Fighter is certainly an easier tank and can do damage in return but not the BEST tank. Probably a better tank than the warrior but the warrior can tank and return that damage in troves
Get a guy with the chirugon specialization or w.e and simple inclination they gather alot and heal your party with consumables. Not as good a mage of course but I went 2 warriors 2 thiefs for awhile with that n melted everything too quick for it too matter.

Magick Archer actually can heal and quite well.
If you fire off the res arrow without fully charging it, it'll heal instead of ressing. Give it a try!

It's SO fun to have a thief pawn just wrecking shop
This video really sold me on having a thief in my party at all times. Thanks my bro.
Absolutely bro! Happy to do it
Thief is my favorite but archer is probably the best archer ive ever played on a game
I totally agree. I'm having so much fun with it
The mobility is so insane and I love KICKING 😈

I am really glad I started this game as a fighter, this class is really a lot of fun and it felt just right to be knight in this world
It's so damn fun!!
I was going to stay sword and shield but man Thief was so smooth and strong. Dodge is very strong too!
Only issue I have with fighter is stamina runs out so fast
They can't be the best because they are not Warrior
Sound logic
I can't argue with this at all
That is why there is "basic" in the title
Warrior with 8 abilities is sex.
Naw, the Magic Archer is the superior vocation
I know it probably isn't the best, but i LOVE Fighter. Getting parries and then doing a critical hit feels so good. After i get some augments, I think I might stick with it

For those wanting the mystic spearhand weapon from the first dragon, you can easily kill the dragon using the ballistic cannon on top of the tower.
I’m playing mage with fighter main pawn im having a blast 😊
There is a tome that drops that lets anyone cast heal and the MA has an awesome heal ability. Can heal a pawn fully pretty much!
