The easiest way to correct run on sentences is to make independent clauses distinct thoughts. So, it can be corrected in this way too '' My favourite pizza topping is mushrooms. They are really tasty. I also like pizza with olives.' you can use semi-colon as well. The goal is to solve fused sentences and make them clear and understandable.

Here, “the pepperoni pizza” is the subject of the sentence, and “chewing slowly” is a dangling modifier. It should attach to the person who’s eating the pizza, but instead, it attaches to the pizza itself, making it sound like the pepperoni pizza is the one doing the chewing.

The sentence is correct; however, we make least possible changes when correcting the sentence therefore, no need to change the given verb 'finish'.
