Erik! Did you notice that when Lilia is reading William Kaplan's future at the party, his 3 years later self is an inverted reflection of Billy Maximoff in the crystal ball???
I loved her moment with Billy where she told him not to feel guilty about taking William's body. She recognizes the survivor's guilt in him and that moment just shone through as really genuine to me.
Not how I saw that at all. She was trying to console him, yes, but only because she probably did the same or worse. She probably gave herself that same speech trying to convince herself she isn't an evil person.
the show reiterated time and time again that the road doesn’t give you what you WANT it gives you what your MISSING…so i think a lot of the theories surrounding what people want from the road is distracting from possible endings
AYO can we talk about the black heart that BOYF sent to Billy. I think that’s explaining who the black truly is. It’s Billy. The reason why lillia had to write a black heart is because she couldn’t say his name as a result of the sigil
45:14 yes girl. I think she sees herself in him. The way she said “it’s good to see you again Billy” was so genuine. And when he turned around too and said “you can hear me now?” That was genuine too. There’s some care there.
this episode was so 'grounded' but like in the fantastical MCU way where its totally normal for avengers to be fighting aliens and people to disappear for 5 years and come back randomly
Something that is interesting about the end-credit scene from WandaVision now. When Wanda is using the Darkhold and she hears one of her sons, "Mom! please help!" i think Agatha All Along just hinted/confirmed that was Tommy's soul in the aether / spiritual realm calling for Wanda (only one voice not overlapping ones --> Billy was already reincarnated into William)
This episode left me wanting a "Chilling adventures of Billy Maximoff". I want a show with him getting through high-school and fighting off demons in Eastview!
I feel like we all should’ve known that it was Lilia who put the sigil on him because the sigil appeared on all of the tarot cards, and her whole thing is tarot cards😅
@@AdamLongandTall oh no, the greatest indicator that she put the sigil on him is that she clearly immediately forgets once it’s placed in his pocket who the jacket even belongs to which is a callback to Agatha explaining to him that even if she put the sigil on him, she wouldn’t know that she did. The sigil worked on both the caster and the subject.
It would be nice if what Billy unknowingly wants the most at the end of The Road is for the Kaplans to have their son back. He's a good person, so his base desire could be to heal the people who loved and cared for him.
Lillia definitely did the Sigil with intent. If you look in the crystal ball, much like the scene in the Matrix, we can see Billy Maximoff/Wiccan in the ball, in his current clothing, as opposed to his suit that he's currently wearing for the celebration. The reason she seems sort of zoned out is because once she drew it, her memories were being erased of even drawing it, and his identity was already erased from her mind, which is why when she handed over his jacket to his mother, she was like "A boy left this here, please ensure it gets back to him" and when asked who she was like "I don't recall".
Two completely unrelated things: 1) the way Rebecca Kaplan said “I just want my son back/him back” is reminiscent of a lot of unaccepting mothers of queer children. Just a thought. Maybe ties in to X-Men persecution and that one scene with Bobby Drake and his family in X-men. Who knows? 2) the way Billy said “I’m William Kaplan” three times into the mirror. Isn’t that how Wiccan casts spells in the comics? By saying something three times?
This show made Wanda's story more tragic. Despite MoM's problems, there are no words to describe the amount of pain, loneliness and guilt she felt after Wandavision. The twins were not to blame for their mother's mistakes and Billy probably feels abandoned by her, not knowing that she was willing to start a war across the multiverse and corrupt her soul for a chance to live with another "them", while the real ones were so close.
love Eriks takes but what he said about Billy finding his brother not being important to the story is really ridiculous. That's his brother who he came into the Hex world with him so why would he ever be ok with not finding him and how can people be ok with that? I want Billy/Wiccan to find his brother, not for any comic book reason, but because that's his family and probably more real to him than Wanda and Vision
If Agatha knew he was Billy through out the series I think that shows that Agatha has a soft side. She went out of her way to help Billy when he almost died and asks Death not to take him etc. I think Agatha has multiple sides to her.
Exactly! Her expressions were so sad at the end of last episode when he doesn’t believe her (both times she tries to explain) and after the second time when he really doubles down that’s when she put her mean mask on and showed she knew who he was and acted like she didn’t care. And even in this episode, when he firmly tells her he doesn’t trust her and never will, her eyes absolutely get teary and she responds with zero sass. I also think she sees some of herself in him and doesn’t want him to have the same fate.
I frankly don't remember that at all... although to be fair I fell asleep halfway through and woke up to a bollywood dance number (and thought it was a different movie) so I could possibly have missed it

So Lilia is the reason for multiverse of madness, she puts the sigil on William before he died, so he was hidden from all witches so Wanda could not find Billy when he entered Williams body after he died.
RIght and what would Wanda have done if she found Billy though. it may not have ended well for the Kaplans. And possibly Billy and Wanda together would have been far too strong. Who knows what Lillia saw.
Agatha lost her son prematurely, walked the witches road thinking she would get her son back only to be given the darkhold instead, confirming that her personal quest for getting her son back got twisted into a quest for power somehow along the way. She probably was shocked to find the darkhold in her hands instead of her baby and, the Road giving what people are coveting, she probably felt like she betrayed her son [and herself] in a quest for power [with getting her son back in mind], the two priorities being swapped during the process, or simply because resurrection is impossible so all was left for her was power. Just a theory😅
Agatha probably accidentally killed her son with her inability to control her ability. I could see her seek the DarkHold as a way to bring him back to life
Maybe the road gave Agatha the dark hold because the dh is what's going to connect her to Wanda who has the chaos magic that can bring back dead people like vision, which she can steal and use to bring back her son.
i think that Lilia is going to have a vision of wanda maximoff’s soul trapped in some way by the darkhold at the end of the season (after she regains her clairvoyance) and that’s going to be the set up for the next Scarlet Witch Movie and that they need agatha and wiccan and others to free her so they can defeat some larger threat
There was actually an important question that I haven’t heard yet, but I haven’t finished the video yet. Williams’s parents are still alive so what is going to happen at the end of this series in relation to Billy’s parents Capins and himself
This is WW 84 all over again. Wandas horrible actions have once again resulted in hurting people. These parents are living a lie with a child that isnt their own, unable to truly grieve
@romanmccoy5074 I think things will be better than WW84. I mean, all the references to the Young Avengers comics I've seen NR and ScreenCrush use to discuss possible storylines have shown panels where the Kaplans are positively interacting with Billy after he's become Wiccan, so they seem cool with Billy being biologically their son but metaphysically Wanda's. MCU Billy has had 3 years of treating Jeff & Rebecca as his parents, and they seem to love him just as much as William, so the hope is that any confession to them about being Billy Maximoff in their son's body will be balanced out by the time they grew to care about one another.
I think Rio is being over thought here. Her in the episode is more of a distraction. I think Rio stayed behind to tend to Alice, even spare her. But she wasn't needed to story at the time. I'm sure Agatha is used to her coming and going constantly, she's death after all, so it's not a thought for her tbh.
When Erik mentioned the "familiar's trial" I immediately thought that no, that wouldn't be a "familiar's" trial, that'd be the "GREEN WITCH'S" trial. We saw Eddie, the boyf, call Billy his black heart, and since Billy was still under the sigil, Lilia couldn't write his name down. Especially since we saw the ceiling come down and showering the room in DIRT in one promo, I'm thinking that BILLY is the green witch, NOT Rio, especially with what the spoilers have said about her.
@@ApocalypticFishbowl Green is the magic of the Earth, as in "life and death", not rocks and dirt. That's also why Rio (as Death) is THE green witch (the original you might say)
Yeah definitely, I think they also can just say he takes after the kree side more lol, I do hope it is Teddy Altman even if we don't seem as hulking this series
@@sophis9453 yeah I really like Teddy. He and Billy seem to have a good, sweet chemistry that I think is matched by the actor's rapport with each other. They feel comfortable with each other to me.
Yes, we did actually see them say good night and hear them say good night. Also, I like Billy‘s point of view versus her point of you because now we get it inside of what he was saying and what he grabbed and how the necklace or the pendant ended up on the floor
I think there were some very strong wizard of oz ties to support your twist. Teen has been like Dorthy and in this episode we see the other witches in the coven presented as ordinary people his life. Similar to how the people in Dorthy’s life were characters in oz (“you were there, and you and you…”) He starts with seeing a fortune teller with a crystal ball just like Dorthy did. Dorthy created a whole world in her dream so maybe the Witches road IS Billy’s hex
So…Lilia got sort of spacey when she wrote the sigil. Like she did when she made the list of witches for the coven. Could someone (or something) else have been controlling her both times?
Curious about that as well. Her ability takes hold in key moments in time. Something crucial or important, and snaps out of it, unaware of what happened. Been wondering how her future visions work as well. An outside force pulling those strings?
33:41 totally agree! I hope by the end of the show they either show that William Kaplan is having the time of his afterlife in the great beyond OR that William has been suppressed inside his body this whole time time and there’s a way to merge their souls so they can both live without it feeling like split personalities. Side theory, this is why William Kaplan is always called William. When the souls merge William Kaplan and Billy Maximoff become Billy Kaplan. William seemed like such a sweet kid and it is so sad that his died after this bar mitzvah got canceled early. Justice for William!
I agree that the "Ship of Theseus" carries over to Billy. A lot of reviews I see are treating it as the Billy from the hex, and although he TECHNICALLY is, he has no memory of his life in the Hex. He also has no memory of William Kaplan's life. So even though he's Hex Billy inside of William Kaplain, he's neither. He's Billy Maximoff (which equates to the rebuilt Ship of Theseus).
30:00 - this distinction between witchcraft and sorcery (or high magick) often crops up in a lot of fantasy media. The highly ordered and structured rituals and cosmic stakes of sorcery are often brought into contrast with the organic, slightly wild, homely, day-to-day feel of witchcraft. In some media, this is further underscored by a society of mostly male wizards and sorcerers being dismissive or downright oppressive of witchcraft as distinctly flawed and lowly "woman's work." the two magic systems are generally opposed in a way that it's cosmic order vs. day-to-day wonder and survival, with the corresponding condescension those who are privy to some of the secrets of the cosmos feel against those who, in their view, are grubbing in the dirt. This is kind of brought into the MCU and Marvel universes in the sense that wizards/sorcerers tend to have sweeping, cosmic tasks or megalomaniac tendencies whereas witches have personal vendettas and personal survival in mind.
I think Ralph screamed Randold because that’s the alias he had for witness protection. Remember, he’s the missing person under witness protection that brought Jimmy Woo to Westview and then led Jimmy to reach out to SWORD for help
@@FWbaracuss okay but saying Ches is far stretched when it’s not the smart st idea to go down this road with 2 people, right? Or you think this was a genius move on her part, and she doesn’t want there extra help from a potions witch and psychic? Riiiiight. Naw, if anything Wanda was playing chess. She created offspring that will eventually stop Agatha in her tracks. Her goal of gaining maximum power and control won’t happen now. Are we watching the same program?!
Agatha's interest is the fact that Billy was able to transfer his soul into another body and she wants to know how so maybe she can bring Nicholas back by putting his soul in a different body
Just a quick reminder guys because I know you have a lot of stuff going on and we, as fans tend to be very specific and concentrated on the shows. Agatha said which is tend to always be nearby each other. So if Wanda was in Westview, obviously these other witches were going to be nearby, so they were just there by chance of course it’s marvel so it’s story driven, but the logic of what Agatha said they were going to be nearby each other anyway so I just kind of all fell into place
Honestly it would be very wholesome if the parents did know it wasn’t actually William, and they love the kid anyways. Like Billy at some point tells them “I’m not William, I’m Billy”, and the parents respond “we know, and we still love you”. Obviously more elegantly
I disagree that Agatha was totally herself and mask off in the end She was absolutely masking and acting that role of "bad witch" i really don't think shes as evil as everyone keeps saying
You should pay closer attention to Kathryn’s acting. That’s far too simple and doesn’t fit at all with even the blatant obvious scenes let alone the acting subtext you clearly ignore.
I think Eddie being hulkling would make an interesting line in him and Billy’s relationship bc it would allow Eddie to understand how Billy feels replacing someone with Eddie being a Skrull
Agatha said the road being so dramatic makes sense knowing he's a Maximoff. So she knows something about him is influencing how the road has been presenting (if she actually has walked the road, maybe it was very different for her).
Gina is kind of hilarious, zany and very engaging. When she totally turned around William Kaplan's death being on the best day of his life I laughed because I really did cry when Billy Kaplan died. Great energy and addition on New Rockstars. Also: did she just say the words, "you ran through my girlfriend and now i'm going to think about that until the day I die!"? 😳😜
26:50 that makes sense, i was wondering about why Wanda would spend all that time in the cabin with the Darkhold and not know that Billy's soul ended up where it did, then go look for them in the multiverse, but that does also begs the question about Tommy's soul and its possible he just wasnt able to end up anywhere. Billy was only able to do that, albeit unintentionally, because of his own witch powers
Lilia is a NURSE (in magic terms), Dr Strange is a DOCTOR. Doctors are the people in a hospital most likely save your life. Nurses are the people in a hospital who make sure you stay alive. These are both vitally important and too often confused. Damn right Peter should have found a witch. There are probably HUNDREDS living in a 3-block radius of him in Queens.
Guys, I REALLY don’t think young Billy PURPOSELY transferred his soul into Caplin’s body. That wasn’t his doing. That happened in a second as he was going to sleep. Some other being did that. Maybe we’ll find out who.
This has been the best episode thus far❤ Very good acting and I loved seeing the reality portion of what happened between Billy and Agatha in the beginning of show 💜 Her little garden hose gun just cracked me up!
As for the actions of Illya's making the Segal, I think she is connected to Wanda. Wanda could have had moments since the collapse of the hex that she controls her. Giving messages and making her do or say things that don't make sense at the moment but down the road makes a lot of sense.
Billy MUST be the black heart and therefore part of the Coven. That’s why the Witches’ Road door opens when he runs into the basement in the second episode. The whole coven was not yet present.
I think it's fair to point out how the twins were already skipping time with every episode of Wanda Vision to go from 10 to 13/14 wouldn't be that strange.
The person dead in the beginning of the series was somehow Billy, he’s wearing the same exact outfit, with the hood up, and without shoes at the end of this episode

I think he is the black heart too, but how is he the green witch though when his powers are not earth related?
@@ApocalypticFishbowl Green is the magic of the Earth, as in "life and death", not rocks and dirt. That's also why Rio (as Death) is THE green witch (the original you might say)
48:22 teen saw Rio at the house. He said on the road after they summoned her “so the dangerous but charismatic lady is back!”
If you look at Hulkling in comics I'm fairly sure they can do mostly practical for him.
While not Jewish I do love the representation with having a Jewish gay witch teen, being a bisexual wiccan Mormon myself
_Le gasp_ hello fellow witchy-adjacent gay mormon!
@@toryplays7776 👋
I don’t think Billy Kaplan is fully gone. I think that he’s like a split soul but not like two voices in one head if that makes sense.
The twist...
Witches Road is Billies Hex.
Its Westviews underground sewer and transportation system.
🙌🏼
That would be interesting
If you notice a lot of the stuff in William Kaplan's room that we see in Ep 6 is all over the trials on the Witches Road!
But Agatha has been to the witches road before and Billy can't control his powers.
Agatha been collecting bodies for Rio for centuries.
What if the list that Lilia wrote down was the order of the trials
It definitely seems to be following a pattern
Agatha was the first name on the list though
So…Lilia got sort of spacey when she wrote the sigil. Like she did when she made the list of witches for the coven. Could someone (or something) else have been controlling her both times?
Curious about that as well. Her ability takes hold in key moments in time. Something crucial or important, and snaps out of it, unaware of what happened. Been wondering how her future visions work as well. An outside force pulling those strings?
I was thinking Wanda@@kadosho02
So excited for them to have a strong brotherly bond in the MCU
33:41 totally agree! I hope by the end of the show they either show that William Kaplan is having the time of his afterlife in the great beyond OR that William has been suppressed inside his body this whole time time and there’s a way to merge their souls so they can both live without it feeling like split personalities. Side theory, this is why William Kaplan is always called William. When the souls merge William Kaplan and Billy Maximoff become Billy Kaplan.
William seemed like such a sweet kid and it is so sad that his died after this bar mitzvah got canceled early. Justice for William!
I do wonder if we’re going to revisit that scene with Agatha and Billy talking in the car
Oh yeah, I was wondering about that
Brandon mentioning The Brother’s Sisters is killing me
I agree that the "Ship of Theseus" carries over to Billy.
What Billy wants is his brother, but what he needs is family. He will discover that the coven is his new family.
The black heart is Joan Jet showing up at the end to do a ballad with the reunited witches
I loved the Eternals. Makkari is one of my favorite MCU characters.
When Agatha hired Ralph Bohner, did she give him super speed to mimic quicksilver?
Kinda
Wasnt that the point? So he could be Fietro? Or do you mean did she actually give him sustaining powers that last outside the hex?
I think she used necromancy or something but since she doesn't have Pietro's body she only revived his powers and gave it to Ralph Bohner.
@@NoonMight it was also very tongue and cheek to distract the audience
Lilia saw the Demiurge in Billy!!
What is it with people thinking Billy wanting his TWIN BROTHER is weird or not valid for the story????
I figured out who the person with the hat was going to be the moment Billy mentioned Reddit.
💯 well typed sir
I actually hadn't realized that distinction until this comment. Thank you. This actually gives me a lot to think about.
I think Ralph screamed Randold because that’s the alias he had for witness protection. Remember, he’s the missing person under witness protection that brought Jimmy Woo to Westview and then led Jimmy to reach out to SWORD for help
Agatha is playing 4D Chess. Everyone else is playing checkers. (except Rio)
Not chess if the goal was to have everyone go down the road and survive 👀
@@AnaAcuraErica nobody is dead.
It’s been Lilia AALLaLonng!!
Refilling beer mug... the kind of magic that would help get through the day! XD
I think Agatha does care about Billy, she was his nanny.
I disagree that Agatha was totally herself and mask off in the end
She was absolutely masking and acting that role of "bad witch" i really don't think shes as evil as everyone keeps saying
You should pay closer attention to Kathryn’s acting. That’s far too simple and doesn’t fit at all with even the blatant obvious scenes let alone the acting subtext you clearly ignore.
Of course they recast Billy. It’s a William Kaplan’s body!
I really hope Rio tells Billy "you owe me a body" 😅
This show is retroactively making WandaVision hit harder. love it.
I think Eddie being hulkling would make an interesting line in him and Billy’s relationship bc it would allow Eddie to understand how Billy feels replacing someone with Eddie being a Skrull
57:25.. Brandon: "Elizabeth Olson is the pioneer of hand work." 😂😂
Agatha said the road being so dramatic makes sense knowing he's a Maximoff. So she knows something about him is influencing how the road has been presenting (if she actually has walked the road, maybe it was very different for her).
Billy is the black heart in the list made by Lilia
Billy Kaplan represented the Tower card. Billy Maximoff represented the Tower card inverted.
This might overtake WandaVision and Loki as my favorite Marvel Disney+ show
Soooo Peter Parker should’ve gone to Lilia instead of Doctor Strange 😂😅
Great panel, legends. Thanks for the discussion.
This has been the best episode thus far❤ Very good acting and I loved seeing the reality portion of what happened between Billy and Agatha in the beginning of show 💜 Her little garden hose gun just cracked me up!
Perhaps the morgue scene with Agatha's hands on Billy's head is in some way Billy recovering the memories of the body he is in
Could Rio want Billy cause he isn't meant to be in the boys body he's in!
It’s a big coincidence that Rio came on the scene around the same time as Billy’s introduction. Coincidence? 🤔
@@ashley.taylor174 And we didn't see Rio last episode when Billy was looking through the window and Aagtha had coffee.
I love you guys! I love the comments about the running scene.
As for the actions of Illya's making the Segal, I think she is connected to Wanda. Wanda could have had moments since the collapse of the hex that she controls her. Giving messages and making her do or say things that don't make sense at the moment but down the road makes a lot of sense.
36:06 again, Thanos is still largely responsible for a lot of the conflicts happening.
voss sitting there doing The Olsen is hilarious 🤣🤣
Billy MUST be the black heart and therefore part of the Coven. That’s why the Witches’ Road door opens when he runs into the basement in the second episode. The whole coven was not yet present.
1:05:16 could one of the Salem 7 be a sibling to Agatha given that her mom was one of the original coven? That could be an interesting reveal
I think it's fair to point out how the twins were already skipping time with every episode of Wanda Vision to go from 10 to 13/14 wouldn't be that strange.
It just occurred to me that Billy was the first to enter the road once it was summoned. Perhaps that influenced the design of the road?
Recast Mephisto with Evan Peters. Mephisto role playing Ralph to steer Billy the way he wants him to go.
Interesting, the sigil is incredibly powerful, yet Agatha’s calls it a clumsy glamour.
The person dead in the beginning of the series was somehow Billy, he’s wearing the same exact outfit, with the hood up, and without shoes at the end of this episode
