Great vid . Drennan do mini maggot feeders and cage feeders in 10grams . Try 2lb fluorocarbon straight through , a float stop or two to hold the feeder in place (running rig ) , size 14-18 hook . Been fishing like this for ages on canals and such . 1-7 gram bfs rod is fine as long as you not wacking it out to the moon . You can walk along , pick a shoal apart and then move on to the next shoal you find . It's even better in deep water . 30ft+ and no tangles . A like from me .
Hi, thank you. Sounds like a good option to try. I have done a fair bit of bait fishing on more traditional set ups, I like the idea of being able to quickly switch from one to another. I had another session where I was using the same set up but I had a 12lb titanium trace tires on instead of FC. Didn’t stop the Roach 😁
@@reellures2770 If only fishing around my way was as prolific . I wouldnt get so much as a follow from a roach unless i was using 0.12 fluorocarbon or less . My local canal in east london is like tap water 90% of the time . The method i mentioned is great though . Half a pint of maggots , a few worms , a little bag of bread crumbs and a few slices and your golden . Much better than walking around or fishing static with a 10-12' feeder rod . Nice and light and delicate . You can feel the bites too . I lure fish for roach and bream and anything that bites SUL fishing too . The Russians are masters of this . They call it mormyshka . Check it out . They catch everything . Im enjoying it soo much that my BFS fishing has taken a back seat . Lol .
We get quite a bit of boat traffic so the clear days are few and far between. I’ll definitely look into the method you mentioned, thanks for that. There was a time when I’d never be throwing anything other than 50grm jerkbaits. I’ve got so much Pike gear that doesn’t get a look in these days 😁
